*Charmaine's P.O.V*
I wasn’t sure if I was dreaming or not, but I was at this unfamiliar place. The place was completely white, that it hurt my eyes. I was worried, where was I?
“Scared?” An unfamiliar male voice suddenly said behind me.
I immediately turned around and spotted a man I’ve never seen before in my life standing behind me, “Do.. I know you?” I took a step back.
He smiled warmly at me, “Yes you do. In fact, everyone knows me.”
“Huh?” I looked at him cluelessly, “Where am I?”
“Where do you think you are?” The man questioned back.
I raised an eyebrow, “Whites-ville?”
He laughed, which caused me to feel uncomfortable, “No, not Whites-ville. Do you not remember what happened hours ago?”
“Hours ago?” I muttered aloud, and closed her eyes, trying to remember what happened hours ago.
- Flashback -
“Ray!” I screamed as I spotted him across the other side of the road.
Raymond smiled and waved back at me.
“Stay there, I’ll come over to you.” Raymond screamed back as he looked at the road, seeing if there was any cars, but there weren’t so he made his way across the road.
I smiled and turned my head, and to my horror, I spotted a car coming right towards Raymond. My sudden reflexes made her run over to him and push him away, but right when I pushed him away from danger, I felt myself getting hit by the car.
“CHARMAINE!” Raymond stared at the scene in horror as he dropped everything he was holding and immediately ran over to me.
The driver immediately went out from the car, with the smell of alcohol around him.
“Uh..” The driver said and took a few steps to the unconscious Charmaine, the driver couldn’t even stand properly.
Raymond looked up with anger filled in his eyes, “YOU DRUNKEN BASTARD!” And he punched the driver.
Bystanders immediately called the police and ambulance, as they stared at Raymond continuously beating up the drunk driver.
* Hospital *
“She’s in critical condition.” The nurse said as a bunch of people wheeled the unconscious Charmaine to the Emergency Room.
Raymond waited outside impatiently, blood was filled all over his shirt.
A police officer went over to Raymond, “Sir, were you there at the scene of the accident?”
Raymond turned back, “Y-Yes..”
“Can you please follow me to the police station to give me a statement on what happened?” The officer asked.
Raymond didn’t want to leave, he wanted to see if Charmaine was okay or not.
He hesitated a bit, “Okay.” And the two left to the police station,
Inside the Emergency Room, doctors tried to save Charmaine.
“Doctor, her heart stopped beating.” The nurse reported as the ‘duuuuuuuuuuu’ sound kept ringing in everyone’s ears.
“Prepare the machine.” The doctor instructed as the nurses strolled over a machine beside the bed.
(Note: Hehe, I have no clue to what those machines are called :P Anywho, continue reading..)
“50.” The doctor said and he placed the two buzzers onto Charmaine, causing her body to jump.
“No heartbeat.” The nurse reported.
“100.” Again, the doctor placed the two buzzers onto her.
“No heartbeat.” The nurse repeated again.
“200.” He placed the two buzzers onto her again.
“No heartbeat.” The nurse reported.
The doctor sighed, “Time of death,” he looked at the clock, “7:34 p.m.”
- End of Flashback -
I stared at the man in shock, “I-I’m dead?” I couldn’t believe it.
The man nodded, “Yes, your life has ended. But no worries, you have done many good deeds when you were still alive, so I shall make you become an angel.”
“Make me become an angel?” I stared at him in disbelief, “Don’t tell me you’re.. God..?”
God smiled, “You’re right.”
“But.. I still want to live. I want to spend my life with Raymond!” I said as tears strolled out of her eyes.
He smiled again, “Though you can’t spend your life with him, I’ll grant you to be his guardian angel, so you can look after him.”
I paused, “Guardian angel..?”
“Yes, guardian angel.” God confirmed.
“Can.. Can I see what he is doing now?” I asked.
He nodded and snapped his fingers. Immediately a T.V. screen flashed in front of me, showing what Raymond was doing.
- Earth -
Raymond cried as he hugged his pillow for comfort. He couldn’t believe it, the person he loved the most just died, saving him.
“Charmaine… why did you leave me?” He muttered to himself as he stared at the photo frame of them two.
He suddenly remembered something she once said.
“Raymond, if I suddenly leave you one day, please, continue to live your life peacefully. I don’t want you to live your life in misery. Promise me, Ray.” He recalled her saying.
He wiped off the tears and looked up to the ceiling, “Charmaine, I know you’re probably looking at me now. Don’t worry, I’ll live my life peacefully, like you said, remember?”
Though his heart was broken, and the memories of the accident were still in his head, he tried hard to stay positive, he wanted Charmaine to be happy where ever she was.
- Heaven -
I cried, “Raymond…”
God felt touched by the two of them, “Do you regret saving his life?”
“No.”
