His heart was racing.
Sweat was forming on his forehead.
He was clearly nervous.
“How do I tell her that I like her..?” He asked himself, extremely nervous.
Today was the day where he would tell the girl he had a crush on that he liked her. But he was scared she would reject him, but if he didn’t do it then he would feel extremely disappointed in himself for not having enough courage in him.
He saw her standing on the other side of the road.
“Here goes nothing..” He whispered before he looked at both sides of the street before running to her.
She spotted him running towards him and smiled.
”Hey Ray.” She greeted politely, but then noticed his nervous expression, “Are you okay?”
He took a deep breath.
“I have something to tell you.” He said in a serious tone, though inside he was jumping up and down.
She stared at him with questioning eyes, “Yea?”
“I.. I..” The words were at the tip of his tongue, but it just wouldn’t come out.
She stood there, waiting for him to finish his sentence.
”Uh.. I.. I.. li..” He stammered, and took a deep breath, staring into her eyes, “I LIKE YOU!”
She remained silent, not sure of what to say next.
He held her hands and stared into her eyes, “Would you.. be my girlfriend?” He asked, sincerely.
She broke out into a smile, “I like you too, Ray.” And they embraced each other.
Actually, Charmaine had liked him for a while too, but she was too embarrassed to tell him.
“Thank you for accepting me. You had no idea to how nervous I was..” He whispered into her ears.
She giggled quietly, “And thanks for asking me to be your girlfriend.”
They broke free from the hug and smiled at each other.
Raymond leaned forwards, about to kiss her when his cell phone rang. He sighed and quickly fished it out from his pocket.
“Hello?” He was clearly irritated, since the phone ruined their kiss.
“Is Mr. Chung there?” A female voice asked.
“Sorry, wrong number.” He quickly said and hung up.
He put it back into his pocket and held Charmaine’s hands again.
“Now where were we?” He smiled, while Charmaine blushed.
Slowly, he leaned forwards, about to kiss Charmaine again, when his cell phone rang again.
He sighed and fished out his phone from his pocket, again!
“Hello?!”
“Is Mr. Chung here?” A female voice asked yet again!
“Wrong number!!” Raymond’s voice was loud and clear before he hung up and put the phone back into his pocket.
“Haha..” Charmaine giggled at his expression.
”Let’s continue it to where we were..” He smiled and leaned forwards, about to kiss her when his cell phone rang, AGAIN!
He took out his phone from his pocket and glared at it.
“HELLO?!”
“Is Mr. Chung there?” The female asked, AGAIN!
“Oh my god! I already told you about a billion times, no!” Raymond said and hung up.
He put the phone back into his pocket and stared back at Charmaine, who was pretty amused at his expression.
“This time, nothing will stop me from kissing you.” He smiled and leaned forwards, kissing her.
She kissed him back.
The phone rang again, but Raymond didn’t bother opening it, he just left it in his pocket ringing.
Stepping out from the corner, Leila laughed, “Oh geez bro, I was just asking for Mr. Chung, was there a need to scream?” And she stared at the two who were still smooching on the other side of the road.
She hung up, and coincidentally, Ray’s phone stopped ringing.
