Chapter 1

A Whole New World

----
Chapter 1

I stared at the information sheet of the new school I’d be attending. S.A.F.B. (Whatever that stood for I didn’t really care… well yet) . The flyer going on and on about all the opportunities it offered students.
“So, this is the new school you will be attending, it will be… very different from the last school.” His pause made me look up at my uncle, he barely ever hesitated. I raised my eyebrow at him still drinking my cup of water.

“Uhm, looks like an ordinary.. I mean another private school to me.” I said my legs swinging on the chair softly.

“Have you not noticed?” He asked.
“Noticed What?”
“Have you looked at any of the pictures? Or the programs? Anything? Or did you just stare at the pages like you were interested just to please me.”
“Hmm, Sorry…” I looked down at the page ignoring the words but looking at the pictures instead. “It’s just a bunch of students doing.. Student things.”
“Look at the students in particular.” He said sipping his coffee and checking his cellphone.
I looked harder again, it only took a few seconds for me to really notice. I gasped. “They’re… All … Boys?” I was terribly confused. Either the flyer was extremely sexist, or my uncle was planning on making me attend an all boys school.
“I’m scared for the future of my company because it took you that long.”
“I’m still in training.” Anyways that wasn’t the issue at hand here. “Why are sending me to an all boys school? Is that even possible? It’s an all boys school… If you think we can get away with dressing up as a man and going in there all secretive like those crazy Japanese dramas then you’re sorely mistaken.”
“No, No Don’t be so dramatic, I pulled some strings. -
“More like yanking them..” I mumbled.
“This provides you the opportunity to work with the male society, which is extremely important, Business is-
“Is extremely competitive you can’t trust anyone… Yes yes, I know. But I experienced interaction with guys in Japan and America, I don’t need to go to an all boys school .” I said.
“No, you weren’t with guys solely on their own. Once you start working under me, You’ll understand that not many woman at all are in this industry. You’ll be interacting and competing with, majority of the time, male business leaders in something serious, and this is the closest thing to help you prepare for that.” He explained to me.
“… Right… But you know it’s going to be extremely awkward and embarrassing for me. And that doesn’t concern you at all?”
“Not the slightest, in fact I know you’ll pull through, it will help strengthen your self confidence.”
“Seoul Academy for Boys… And 1 girl.” Doesn’t that sound pretty ridiculous?

----

So in order to prepare for this properly, I really wanted things to be different then in Japan. I asked my uncle if I could live in a relatively average apartment, with or without him, it didn’t matter my uncle was a very busy man and I understood if he was going to be away for long or short lengths of time. Luckily, my uncle agreed to it, something about ‘it will help your perception of the average man!’ or something along those lines.

It doesn’t mean I’d be taking care of my self entirely, nooo, my uncle cares for me a lot, therefore we have a house nanny, I call her Auntie most of the time, but she’s a lot older then my uncle (Like 30 years older) and he thinks that I think they have a thing going on just because I call him uncle and her Auntie, which is completely ridiculous. What she does, is usually cook, clean, and help around the house, but she provides a lot more then that for me. In Japan she gave me a lot of advice and comfort and I’m sure she will still do so in the future.

“So, your uniform for your new school will be here tomorrow?” Auntie asked opening up the boxes for the apartment.
“Uhm, I hope so, I heard they had to choose out a girls uniform from scratch and then order it from Thailand or something.” I replied unpacking some of my own things.
“Oh, Thailand? Isn’t that in Europe?” She asked continuing with her unpacking.
I love my Auntie, but sometimes she scares me with her thinking.

-----

I had finally gotten my uniform, it was a day late, however school didn’t start for me until tomorrow. I had the butterflies, or well something that was twirling through my stomach like I was going to vomit. For a feeling that is so sickening, why did it ever get such a pretty name like the butterflies? Weird.

I took the entrance exam, studying as hard as I could for it before hand. I felt pretty confident, despite my sometimes slow mind it generally pulls through for me at the times I need it the most. Not only that, I was usually competitive about it as well, and always wanted to one day be at the top of the list.

I decided to spend the day before school however wandering the town. Since I will be living here for a while, I didn’t want to be a helpless girl who couldn’t find her way to school on the first day.

So I first headed to where to school would be, and luckily it wasn’t a school day so I wouldn’t have to be sneaky about it. The walk from my house definitely wasn’t long, about 10-15 minutes depending on my pace.

When I did arrive at the gates I was utterly amazed. The place was huge, eye opening! I couldn’t help but gasp. The school was an off white, large building with windows going across it symmetrically, a nice path with large trees in rows along side it, the gate was even impressive. Unfortunately, that gate was closed and I couldn’t really explore my future school, maybe that was a good thing, I might get lost. I also wanted to save some of the excitement for the next day.

“Uhm, Can I help you?” A random by stander had finally brought me back to reality. I stepped back from the gates and nervously laughed.
“Oh uh, No thank you I was just gazing at the .. Pretty school you have here.” I smiled softly, rubbing my head being slightly embarrassed.
“Oh, well it’s a private all boys school, It’s unfortunate we can’t attend.” the stranger laughed softly, “Well I need to get going, have a nice day!” With that the random stranger ran off.

“Great the first impression you made on someone in this town and you seem like some weird girl who obsesses over pretty buildings.” I starting talking to myself.
“No, you seem like a crazy person who talks to herself.”
I gulped, turning to see two boys. One was pretty thin and reminded me of a cute monkey, while the other was on the fat side, who seemed to be more interested in the handheld game system in his hand rather then where he was going.
“I-Uh..err You caught me.”
The thin one laughed softly. He had a nice smile, it made me want to laugh to. “Don’t worry about it, however you aren’t going to see any of the idol boys your looking for today, tomorrow is when school starts, I think you got a little mixed-
“Wait what?” I asked, I didn’t know what he was talking about.
“I said, today isn’t a school day, so you aren’t going to see any of the boys you want to be seeing today, so if you want an autograph, or a wink it won’t be until tomorrow, unless you’re planning on camping over night for some-
“Okay… No, I thought this was a school… What are you talking about?”
“Don’t you know?”
“Know what?”
“EunHyuk, She obviously isn’t from around here, if you noticed her accent and the fact she has no clue what you’re talking about you would’ve figured that out.” The fatter one finally said something.
“Right, I knew that.” Then sighed. “Sorry, usually any girl whose here is usually lining up for one of the P5 Students who goes to this school.”
“Why are they really smart… or something?” I asked, I wasn’t entirely in the dark, Japan has a lot of fan girls too, or fan boys. At my old school, there were usually some guys lined up after school with presents for some of the girls they liked, but nothing to the extremes of what I’d be seeing soon.
“No, well some of them are, depends on the preferences of the girl, majority of them are just really good looking you would say.” The one named Eunhyuk said.
“Or talented at something.” The other added.
“Oh…” Just what I needed, a school full of hot headed boys, and crazy fan girls… “Well, uhm, my name is Yoo MinYoung, I just moved here and was taking a walk and found this school. Thanks for warning me of where not to go.”
Eunhyuk laughed softly, “I’m Eunhyuk, this is Shindong. We also go to this school, but no one knows it.”
My cell Phone rang
“Sorry, I hope to see you guys again! I’ve got to get going.” I said and ran off. They waved and we went our separate ways.

“Yes?” I answered my cell
“Supper will be ready soon, you best come home quickly.” It was Auntie “Your uncle wants to talk to you too before you go to school tomorrow.”
“Uhh, Okay then.” I turned my cell off plunging it into my bag. I sighed looking back at the school already feeling the head ache for tomorrow.

---

“Well, didn’t I say the school was perfect?” Uncle said taking a drink of his beer.
“No, You just said it was an all boys school, you didn’t mention the fact that there’s a fan club for every attendee.” I grumbled, shoving noodles into my mouth.
“What? There’s fan girls! PERFECT! More competition!” He boasted.
“What do you mean more competition!? It means I have to fight for my life! If any of those girls find out that there’s a girl attending that school won’t you think they’d try and murder me!?”
“Hush hush, You’re taking things to the extreme, I’m sure they’ll be a bit jealous at first, but I doubt anything will happen to you. Besides, you most likely won’t be found out, the school has been told not to announce it like anything special and to keep it on the down low, as you kids say.”
“Never use slang, it makes babies cry.” I replied.
“Are you not excited for tomorrow dear?” Auntie sat at the table with a plate of food.
“Ecstatic…” I said sarcastically glaring at my uncle before shoving rice into my mouth.
