Chapter 59
‘So what?” Jungmin thought in the library… ‘So he likes some other girl.. She will most likely reject him anyways… She wanted to concentrate on studies… yes…” Jungmin was a bit worries although she had some confidence the girl would say no she just had this pang… that she would say yes.
‘I just have… I have to watch.’ Jungmin thought and got up from her desk at the library.
After school
So Jungmin was waiting… Hongki was waiting outside of the school yard and jungmin was hiding behind a tree, the girl was supposed to be here 5 minutes ago….
“Hey Hongki!” Jungmin heard a voice and saw the girl run up to Hongki. Jungmin felt a pang of jealousy hit her heart. She couldn’t help it… She was human after all.
“Jae Eun!” Hongki said enthusiastically.
“What did you want to meet about??” She asked.
So there it went, the feet shuffling, the awkward movements, the head scratching, the mumbling, until he finally sputtered it out.
“I like you… I like you a lot… Want to… Go out with me?” His words… They were very precious… almost pleading.
“Huh?” This so called Jae Eun said. “You mean…. Date?” She asked
He nodded.
“Well.. I guess.” She mumbled. “But,…”
“But what?” He asked.
“Well… Don’t you have a girlfriend?” She asked.
“Uhm… No.”
“That girl you’re always with?|”
“Ah jungmin!”
“Yeah…. I want to date you.. But, I don’t want to be seen as someone you’re two timing…” She explained. “If you want to date me that much you’re going to have to stop hanging out with her.”
“And that was when I felt a pang at my chest…. I don’t think I have ever felt something so painful.” Jungmin explained to us.
“So wait… That’s all that happened between you two?” Phani asked. “But wait…. You told me something about this in grade school that Hongki and her broke up a few weeks after.”
“I’m not done yet.” Jungmin sighed. “There’s still more.”
So yes, Jungmin was avoided, and she also ignored Hongki for the period that Hongki and Jae Eun were dating. The night she saw the confession Jungmin had texted him.
‘It’s alright.. I’ll be okay on my own. - Jungmin”
And then she deleted him from her contacts.
Jungin spent her days studying and taking her time to books rather then people. It was ‘easier’ in a sense and she also had her journal to reflect and explain her thoughts. She couldn’t stop her on going feelings she felt for Hongki but she figured they would eventually go away. Hongki was growing in popularity.. As Jungmin stood still as a ‘nobody’ and practically a loner…
“Jungmin….” Someone whispered… “Pssst!”
Jungmin perked up from her book and wandered over to a dark hall. “Eh?” She said.
“Jungmin!” Hongki said.
“Oh… You.” She said And turned around. But he grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back.
“I’m not done yet!” He said. “Ya know.. I really appreciate you doing this.”
“Doing what? I’m not doing anything.”
“You.. Sent me that message… Ya’know? I knew you saw the confession and she said yes you understand right?” He asked…
“Yes..” She said.. ‘No..” She thought.
He looked a bit confused. “Well.. Things aren’t going that great and I miss just hanging around you.”
Jungmin’s ears perked up more now. “Hmm?” She asked.
“And well.. I’m probably going to break up with Jae Eun soon.. She really isn’t that great..” he said. “We can go abck to being friends again.”
“Wait… I’m not that easy Hongki.” Jungmin said. “I don’t understand what’s going on.. You gave up our friendship for that girl.. You can’t easily gain it back.”
“What but I thought you understood?” He asked.
“No I didn’t I lied okay… I just want to see you happy… because I am you’re friend.. But what friend would want to be treated like this?” She asked.
“…” He didn’t respond. “You’re perfectly right Jungmin.. I’m sorry.” He apologized… “There… was something- urg never mind.” He said awkwardly. “I can understand… You not want to be my friend anymore.. But I’m still going to end it with Jae Eun.” He said. “Things aren’t… Going as planned.” He said and walked off.
“Wait..” Jungmin said. “If you valued our friendship you can gain it back… I don’t know how… But if you know me enough.. Then you should know.” Jungmin said.
Hongki smiled. “Don’t worry… I’ll be able to.”
Luckily Hongki won back Jungmin’s friendship. Pretty easily, he gave her a bunch of new books… so she could start her own library. Although you can’t necessarily buy back someone’s friendship, Jungmin felt he was sincere and she couldn’t just loose someone so close when she knew he felt bad for what he did anyways.
However… Jungmin’s previous feelings were still there. And Hongki… Still hadn’t broken up with his girlfriend rather they were just on a ‘break’. But, in the meantime Jungmin and Hongki hung out much like they used to.
One night Jungmin requested to hang out with Hongki and they were going to meet up at the small bridge near the pond of their middle school. She was planning to confess to him… All of her true feelings. She had felt guilty before hand just sending him off to another girl, he didn’t know of her true feelings.. And maybe this would persuade him to finally stop his relationship with Jae Eun.
“hongki! Wait up!” She heard… It was another girl.
“Huh?” Hongki said turning around. Jungmin took to hiding underneath the bridge.
“Phew.. Hongki you run fast.” It was Jae Eun.
“I was meeting someone here… What is it?” he asked.
“The thing is hongki I don’t want to be on a break anymore…” She said. “I’ve been really getting to know you and I think I really like you too.”
“Huh?” He said.. “What? This … Isn’t what we planned.”
“I know but, it wasn’t working out anyways and you know it.” The girl said.
“You don’t know anything you just said you would-”
“Well I’m beginning to have second thoughts and I really like having you around…” She explained. “I really think we suit each other.” She said.
“But-”
“Hongki… She’s a loner… stop hanging out with her.. She isn’t going to change, she‘s not a fun friend.”
“I don’t want her to be my friend…” He said.
I that’s when Jungmin had heard enough… She decided to escape from them however Hongki spotted her.
“Jungmin!” He yelled. “Jungmin!!!”
However she kept running… and running. And… She didn’t really see him again after that.

“And… That’s all I remember…” Jungmin ended the story.
“I know this will break the mood…” Mi-Cha said… “But that’s the longest I have ever heard you talk before.”
ChoiYeon rolled her eyes. “It was an interesting story…”
“Well soon after that I left that middle school to an all girls one, and I heard about Hongki’s accident too.” Jungmin said.
“You didn’t visit him about the accident?” Dana asked. “Was he hurt?”
“I don’t know I didn’t read into it, people at the school were just talking about it or something, but I…Eventhough I was concerned… I just wanted to erase him from my memory.” She said painfully… “I feel very inconsiderate now.”
“No I can understand your feelings.” I said. “Because he said he didn’t want to be your friend you didn’t feel much of a reason to. And because you didn’t go into details of what happened to him… well what you don’t know.. Won’t hurt you.”
“I guess…” Jungmin mumbled.
“Well.. I think there is more to this story.” Phani said.
“Eh?” Mi-Cha said.
“To be honest.. Hongki bought you all of those books? And then goes and says he’s not you’re friend… That’s just strange.”
“He could’ve been using her to make that other girl jealous.. Anything for pride.” ChoiYeon interjected.
“Well regardless we don’t know what happened with Jae Eun and Hongki.” Phani said.
“I told you guys not to do anything about it.” Jungmin said. “I have told you the story.. So leave until… Until I want to face my problem.”
“Wait a second..” I said. “Were you not telling me to go face my issues with Eunhyuk?” I asked. “Why should you get to wait?”
“Because..” She mumbled. “This has just begun now I have to prepare myself mentally in order to face this problem.”
“You do enough mental preparing you need to be spontaneous and get your head out of that book and take a chance.. Things do not get solved sitting back and thinking.” Phani said.
“Yes they do.. Math problems and scientific evolutions do.”
“This isn’t a school project… Or some bridge that needs to be built.” Dana said. “I really think.. You need to start trying to figure out what exactly happened I believe Phani is right..”
“I’ll think about it for now..” Jungmin said. “But… Please don’t do anything.. I have to get going… I’ll talk to you later.” She said and left the hotel room.
….
….
….
….
“OKAYY ChoiYeon let’s abuse your power and get some information on Hongki’s accident and Jae Eun.” Mi-Cha said.
“Wait… Didn’t Jungmin just-|” Dana said
“No…” Phani interjected. “Jungmin is one year younger then us, she’s afraid to start things that bring up personal issues. She needs a nudge… In this case we’ll give her a big kick.” She explained.
“But won’t she… Get mad?” Dana asked.
“No.. I did this before.. Although not with such a big issue… But she knows I always do it for her own good.. She probably knows I’m going to do something about this..” Phani explained. “And trust me.. There’s no doubt Mi-Cha was going to do something.”
“Oh yeah and if Jungmin didn’t know that..” Mi-Cha said.. “Well then obviously she isn’t my friend.” She giggled.
“Okay well.” ChoiYeon said. “We can start tomorrow, for now I’m going home. We can meet at my place to start the investigation… I need to abuse some of my power tonight.” She smirked and got up and left.

So Phani, Mi-Cha, Dana, And I met up at ChoiYeon’s place the next day. We all put into a small room with a table in the center and several computers all around the room. It felt… Like we were in some secret base.
“So what’s the 411?” Mi-Cha said. “The Key to our mission… The intel!”
“Okay Mi-Cha…” ChoiYeon said sarcastically and coughed to clear her throat. “I wasn’t given much time.. But this is what I’ve got.” She pulled out some papaers and documents. “There isn’t much on Hongki’s accident besides the fact it was a car crash… And a pretty severe one at that… it was… April 2nd… 2006” She read, “It involved.. A Drunk driver, and Hongki was in the car with his parents.” She explained. “Apparently, according to these school documents and attendence records Hongki spent a lot of time in the hospital, it must’ve been severe, this is probably why he has a bad memory.” ChoiYeon concluded.
“So he isn’t just dumb…” Mi-Cha concluded. “He has some memory loss.”
“Yes… That’s what.. I just said.” ChiYeon said. “Anyways that’s all I can get on his accident.”
“Anything on the girl?” Phani asked.
“Kim Jae Eun.. Is her full name I found her in Jungmin’s middle school year book, she was voted most likely to become a model, she also had several academic awards, basically your perfect girl.” ChoiYeon said. “I’m thinking it had to be her because the only other Jae Eun that went to that school was in 1st year and had two missing front teeth.” She said.
“And what about her?” Phani asked… “Do you know where she is?”
“She moved to Thailand.” ChoiYeon said. “So we don’t have anymore records of her.”
“Oh….”
“Thailand?” Dana asked
“Yes… wait!” Mi-Cha said. “ARE YOU NOT THE PRINCESS OF THAILAND!?”
“Uhh No… but I can get a hold of Thailand records.” Dana explained.
“Good!” ChoiYeon said. “Alright I have a plan.”
“Eh?” I asked.. “What plan?”
“Well, We obviously need more information on Hongki’s accident.” ChoiYeon explained. “And the biggest thing of all.. Is this girl.” She said. “If we can talk to her or something about this incident in the past maybe we can clear everything up.”
“What do you mean.. Jungmin explained mostly everything.” Dana said.
“Hongki is a decent person, why would he make up their friendship, and let it crash so easily. Even if he made another mistake he would’ve tried harder to make amends again, Jungmin said she never saw him again after the incident. And obviously this girl has a lot to do with it.” ChoiYeon said, “I just have this feeling.”
“Well it’s not like we don’t have money to do this!” Mi-Cha laughed.
“So what’s the plan!” Phani asked.
“Well, Dana needs to get records of Jae Eun first.” ChoiYeon said, “Im going to look into Hongki’s family and see if they can give me information on his accident, and the time period that he decided to end his friendship with Jungmin. I mean his family has to know who he is.”

Okay so we had an action plan now, but first we had to wait for Dana to come back with the information on Jae Eun.

I took a really long time to update.. Especially since this chapter was practically done… I’m terribly sorry I haven’t abandond this fic!!

Not when all these ideas and flowing in my mind with juices and such and such.
So you don’t have to worry about that. I’ve just been terribly distracted. By a book, a video game, and that thing we all hate called homework.
I have been thinking about this fic everyday though Don’t worry :D It will never leave my mind until I finally complete this thing. Anyways… Can anyone sense a trip to Thailand?? HAHAHAH I think.. Nickhun might come along… Maybe Jaebeom.. Just to spark some things uppp With ChoiYeon Maybe.. I don’t know yet don’t get your hopes up! We might not even go to Thailand :P

BTW, There was a aeon x minyoung moment.. WAYYYYYYYY at the beginning when she like fainted on a swing and he helped her :D But I’m not a huge JaeJoong fan girl, I think he’s really beautiful it’s intimidating
