Chapter 1

From the beginning...

Chapter 1
Charmaine (or Sheh Si Man aka Si Man) and Leila (or Sheh Ling aka Ah Ling) were sisters and the came from a rich family. Raymond (or Lam Fung aka Ah Fung) also came from a rich family. Raymond and Charmaine, you could say that they were married before they were even born since their parents were great friends and Raymond and Charmaine age gap was closer than Leila and Raymond. Charmaine was 11 yrs old and Raymond was only 12 yrs old but they knew as soon as they were old enough they were going to get married. It was perfectly planned out until one day…

Charmaine was at Lam fu (Lam resident) playing like any other day while Leila stayed at home.
Charmaine- what’s that? (it was a heart made from wood that were cut in half)
Raymond- this is for you (gave her one half of the heart) and this is for me (kept the other half)
Charmaine- what is it?
Raymond- on your one, it says ‘Ah Fung’ and on my one it says ‘Si Man’. When we grow up we would be able to join these two woods together and then get married. Then we can give it to our children.
Charmaine- I’ll always keep this by my side. It must have taken you a long time.
Raymond- it wasn’t that long, I have nothing to do at home anyway.

As they were chatting, at Charmaine’s house…
Servant- low yea, (master) your enemy has reported to the king that you were doing illegal drugs so now a whole lot of soldiers are coming this way. You must run now.
Charmaine’s dad- there is no where to hide. Christine.
Christine was one of the servants that looked after Charmaine and Leila.
Christine- yes low yea.
Charmaine’s dad- quickly run away with Charmaine and Leila to a place where nobody knows you and make sure they get revenge for us, I have always been loyal to the king and this is what I get… there is no future with a king like that. For all the Sheh family that sacrificed for them. They have to kill the king and all his sons. Quickly grab Leila from her room and Charmaine at Lam Fu.
Christine- (hesitated) yes low yea (ran in to Leila’s room and grabbed Leila and then headed to Lam fu to get Charmaine)

Meanwhile at Lam fu.
A servant suddenly came running towards Raymond.
Servant- Sew yea (young master) We must leave now because since we are so close to Sheh fu and hearing rumours that they are going to be killed, they might drag us into this as well so low yea has ordered everyone to leave to Han Chow (city name)
Raymond- How about Si Man?
Servant- We need to concentrate on out safety, I’m sure nothing would happen to her.
Raymond- Can’t we take her too. (held Charmaine’s hands)
Servant- I’m sorry but low ye said to go now and us only. (Pulled Raymond from Charmaine’s grasp and pulled Raymond away)
Raymond- I’ll come back, wait for me.
Charmaine- (nodded)
Charmaine was left there shedding tears when someone from behind grabbed her by the hands, it was Christine.
Charmaine- ah yi (auntie) where are we going?
Christine- we are leaving this place because there are problems at home.
Charmaine- how about mum and dad? (starting to sob) are they going to die?
Christine- No they won’t, now don’t cry.
Charmaine- (nod)
They ran day and night until they got to a city called Sow Chow and stayed there for living.
