I walked next to the mother of ChangMin.
She didn't know me, but did not seem interested in getting to know me at this moment..
She only turned a fraction of a second in my direction to see that I was present, then she went on worrying about ChangMin.
I had done the same..
The tears that had formed when seeing him on the stretcher outside were now pouring down my cheeks.

For a while ChangMin was in a room to get him attached to some wires pouring all kinds of liquids in his veins.
Nobody could enter the room at that moment..
Gina wasn't looking all that sad.
I guess she didn't like him, or she just didn't know him..
Or maybe, she still thought presents for NiMa were more important..
.. although we still had 2 days to go look for them..

I sat down and closed my eyes, waiting for news from ChangMin's room.
When I heard footsteps and opened my eyes ChangMin's mother already threw herself at the doctor.
'What is going on? Why is ChangMin still not awake? I know he took the sleeping pills, because I found them in the bathroom, but he should have been awake by now! Will he wake up soon?' ChangMin's mother said, giving the bottle of sleeping pills to the doctor.
'Were it sleeping pills? Weren't these sleeping pills for horses? No, for humans.. Maybe he took the wrong dose.. I'll let this be examined. You'll hear from those!' The doctor spoke and turned, looking at the bottle and uttering something about the strangeness of these pills.
ChangMin's mother went to sit down again when the doctor walked away.
So it were sleeping pills ChangMin had taken last night?
Did he suffer from sleepless nights?
He didn't look like the type, he was the ever so energetic, laid back boy with a handsome face and cute mismatched eyes and..

I started to cry again, I missed ChangMin today at school, we would have had lunch and now ChangMin was in hospital SLEEPING!
It wasn't his fault.. I knew that, but if he hadn't taken the pills, he would have been okay..

Finally the doors to ChangMin's room where opened and we could enter to see ChangMin.
He was still asleep, but he was "to awake any moment" according to the nurse.
I wanted to wait for his awakening, but Gina pulled my arm.
'DaMae, shall we buy NiMa's presents now? ChangMin will be fine, he only sleeps..'
I looked back at the bed of ChangMin..
Ottoke? (means: What should I do?)
I couldn't leave ChangMin.
But if I stayed with ChangMin, I would have to disappoint Gina, whom I promised to buy presents with..

I decided it was better to go with Gina, since she would be more offended if I left her to be with a sleeping boy, who she didn't know..
ChangMin wouldn't have expected me and he wouldn't notice me being there or not being there, since he wouldn't even notice himself being there.

When I made up my mind I did the unexpected thing and took his hand softly between mine, to give him a kiss on his hand..
Just when I planted the kiss his mother gasped.
I looked at ChangMin's face, one corner of his mouth twisted into a slight smile..
Did I do that?
Hmm.. Am I being naïve again?
The smile disappeared again when I let go of his hand.
Gina tugged her arm in mine and pulled me away from the bed..
I looked back one more time.
Wake up soon!

ChangMin's POV:
Sleep, I was sleepy..
Really.. sleepy..
DaMae?!
Her voice.. it was there..
I can't open.. eyes, ..too heavy..
Umma?
Her scent, so familiar, reliable..
Always there when I need her..
I'm happy.
My hand.. DaMae!
I love her!
Umma gasping..
Mianhe*, I can't reach you yet..

Out of the hospital, my mood was far from delighted..
I already didn't want to go shopping, but for the sake of Gina I went with her.
In the mall we went from shop to shop.
Gina did her best to make me smile, I noticed..
I tried my best to smile, but it is hard to smile when I was constantly worried about ChangMin.
I think Gina understood, although she didn't mention him.

At a jewelry store we decided to buy NiMa a silver bracelet with charms.
It was a little expansive so we both it together.
The charms were really cute, a squirrel, a cherry, a rabbit, a tortoise, a cat and a strawberry..
We were certain NiMa would love it..

When we were done shopping I insisted on going back to the hospital..
Gina sighed once and agreed.
I guess she didn't want to go home alone..
'What do you think of ChangMin?' Gina asked me.
'You like him, don't you?'
'Deh..' I said, hoping she would let the topic pass now..
I didn't want to have everybody know I loved ChangMin.
Gina equals everybody.. I knew for sure!
Besides I was hitting red alert..
If I talked about my feelings towards ChangMin more I would turn into a tomato!
'You love him?' Gina found something to bite her teeth in, it seemed..
I bowed my head, so my face wouldn't give away my feelings.
'The bus is late..' I tried to change the topic.. Looking at my watch.
I knew she didn't fall for it the minute I said it.
'You do love him! HeeChul is finished!' Gina chimed..
Now it was my time to dig into the story..
Gina held her hands in front of her mouth.
'What did you say? HeeChul is finished? What's that got to do with me liking ChangMin? HeeChul really was in love with me? Don't worry.. I knew it already!'
'No honey, that's not it.. *sigh* HeeChul and I made a bet.. It was about HeeChul his sexual disposition.. He was going to prove he could make you fall for him.. Mianhe*.. It was bad to let him play with your heart, even if you didn't fall for him..'
Gina sounded sincere.
I took a minute letting all sink in..
In the end, I didn't really care.
It explained Gina looking mad at HeeChul when I fell against HeeChul's chest..

When the bus finally came, it was ten minutes delayed..
We drove to the hospital, although we could have walked and still get there at the same time, because of the ten minutes waiting for the bus..
At the hospital they told us ChangMin was already released.
So we could go home now..
At the hallway I saw the doctor who were given the sleeping pills to by ChangMin's mother.
I asked him the diagnose of the sleeping pills.
'We have a policy against sharing confidential information with unauthorized persons, but since you were with him, I think you do have a right to know.. Don't you think?' The doctor asked.
I nodded, waiting for the diagnose.
'Well then, ChangMin has an allergy towards one of the ingredients of the sleeping pills he had taken. He didn't know about that. Although it seems he had taken them before, causing him to sleep a whole day. His mother didn't find him that time. So, he stayed at home and unaware of his allergy.'
It made sense..
Poor ChangMin..
