Epilogue

Crystal lay on top of the hill with wildflowers all around her; in her hands she held a diamond ring. Gently she rotated the ring back and forth, and then she slipped the ring on her fourth finger and grinned. A little girl sat next to her and she caressed the girl’s cheek and smiled remembering when she was the same age as the girl sitting under the hot summer sun filled with curiosity and all the wonders of the world.

The little girl picked a lavender flower and laid it inside the basket with the rest of the flowers. She then took another flower and puts it behind Crystal’s left ear.

“You look so beautiful.” The little girl said with awe in her eyes. Crystal smiled,

“Want to know the secret?” Crystal asked. The little nodded eagerly.

“It’s love.” Crystal whispered.

“Love? What’s that?” The little girl asked frowning. A man hugged Crystal from behind and ruffled the little girl’s hair.

“You want to hear a story from Grandma?” He asked, glancing over at Crystal with sparkles in his eyes.

“Yes! I want to hear about how you and Grandma met!” The little girl excitedly said.

Edison kissed his wife’s neck and whispered,

“Darling, why don’t you share our story with our granddaughter? Didn’t it all started with your heart beating one hundred miles per hour?” He teased. Crystal smiled, leaned back against her husband and closed her eyes.

“No, it started when I was just about your age honey…sitting on this very hill asking my grandma about soul-mate; and she said……”
