Chapter 12
Why Did You Reject Me?
Nic and Gill left, leaving poor Edison standing at the curb, clueless and not knowing what was going to happen to him. He was utterly confused. He didn't know why his beautiful Gillian left him like that, especially with his sworn enemy, Nicholas Tse. Everything seemed so jumbled and out of place in Edison's life, even his own father was to busy making money to pay attention to him. Since he would never care about Edison, Edison felt like he had all the money in the world, but barely any love from anyone.
But when Gillian stepped into his life it seemed like it finally had purpose, something to look forward to everyday; to see her smile at him sweetly. Even though that hadn't happened yet, he still dreamt about that day, just to bring joy into his life. So it was a big deal that Gillian left him to go with Nic. He felt frustrated and mad at the same time, so he called out for a taxi and arrived at his own hotel. As soon as he left the taxi-driver some money he went inside to where the bar was located and sat down abruptly. The bartender who was cleaning the cups and refilling other customers' drinks saw Edison so he quickly walked over. "Oh my, Mr. Chen you seem so gloomy! Would you like me to call for a room for you?" the bartender asked looking concerned. "NO! I just want a freaking beer! Give me beer now!" Shouted Edison, making the bartender freaked out and ran to pour a glass of beer for Edison. Before the bartender had a chance to let go of the glass, Edison grabbed the cup and with one gulp drank the whole thing. "Give me more!" shouted Edison
The bartender immediately poured pint after pint of beer for Edison. He was getting numerous complaints from the bar's other inhabitants for his lack of attention. But Edison didn't even care where the bartender went, just as long as he kept the beer flowing. While Edison was drinking, a few girls tried to approach him but all he did was yell at them, making them scared and run away with a big frown on their faces. Edison kept on drinking until a few hours had passed and still Edison was not a bit drunk. He yelled for the bartender again, "Hey where the fuck is my beer!!" The bartender squirmed over and immediately made Edison 10 more glasses of beer and left to help other customers. Leaving Edison sitting drinking, still remembering the moments that happened just early that day. Finally after enough alcohol to kill a dozen men Edison was finally kind of drunk and started to ramble about how hurt he felt when Gillian left him for Nic. The people surrounding him were staring at him because he would giggle and then all of a sudden yell, but in the end he would be quiet again. Some customers would call the manager over to tell him to pull Edison out, but then the manager's answer was always, "Sorry, we can not do as you request because the person sitting over there is the owner of this hotel." The customers would just pay for their things and leave and others would try to ignore Edison, but end up getting ticked off and leaving. By the end of the night news about Edison was spread throughout the whole hotel and gossip was starting to spread. Some said Gillian broke up with Ed, and some with wilder imaginations said Edison found a half brother so he has to split half of his hotel's industry. Gillian who was walking down the hallway to go to the next room to clean overheard everything, so she decided to see what the fool Edison was doing now.
She took the elevator down to the lobby, started to walk to the bar and found Edison sitting in a nearly empty bar that was over crowded an hour ago. Gillian then slowly approached Edison who was blabbing about all kinds of things but she for sure heard him say, "Gillian don't leave me!! Don't follow Nicolas!"
Gillian then thought in her head, 'what is this fool thinking?' I would never go with Nicolas. Slowly Gillian then tapped Edison's shoulder. At first Edison just shrugged her hand off and yelled, "Go away!" But Gillian then tapped him again so he then turned around and was about to yell at her when he realized it was the person he was mourning the loss of. Even though he was drunk, he couldn't forget Gillian's face and features. Gillian blinked once, twice, and then scowled at Ed, "What are you doing staring at me? And why are you drunk?"
Edison just burped and tried to hug Gillian, but Gillian shoved him off the stool and onto the ground making Edison come back to reality a little. Edison stood up again and tried to hug Gillian one more time, but still Gillian pushed him away. This time he was ready for her, so he stood his stance and embraced Gillian tightly. Gillian tried pushing Edison's arms away, but he just wouldn't budge. Edison gave out a victory smile thinking Gillian had giving in, but before he had a chance to speak Gillian bit Edison's arm making him letting go and wincing in pain. Edison rubbed his arm a few times and sobered up again, slowly he walked up to Gillian, Gillian backed up more but Edison kept on moving forward. By now Edison and Gillian had caught everyone's attention in the hotel, they even made the maids of the hotel run down to the entrance to watch the commotion. Edison stopped in his tracks which was but five inches away from Gillian and spoke clearly and slowly, "Gillian, you know that I love you so much. Why don't you accept me?"Gillian stood firm and said, "God, how many times have I told you. I don't like you."
Edison seemed like he just ignored Gillian's remark and rammed his lips against hers, kissing her with all the passion he felt for her. Gillian tried to break the kiss, but Edison held onto her waist not letting her go, Gillian made a few more attempts by punching Edison's back, but still he wouldn't budge. From the background Gillian could hear the people say, "Eww…Look at that slut….I knew she came here to seduce the boss…" Others said, "God, look at her trying to act all innocent, we all know she is actually a whore!"
Gillian couldn't take it any longer so she bit him on the lower lip, slapped Edison's face and ran out of the hotel in a dead sprint, not looking back. Edison didn't mind his now bleeding lip, as he ran after Gillian with people chattering behind him as he exited the same doors she ran out of. Once Edison ran out the entrance of the hotel he looked right and left and still couldn't make out Gillian's figure, but suddenly he saw a flick of hair turning right at the end of the block in the corner of his eye. Edison quickly ran off in that direction to stop the girl from running, because his instinct said that it was Gillian. With a blink of an eye Edison had already turned around the corner and only to find a dead end. He then saw the girl huddled up in a dark corner trying to cover herself and because it was only around seven pm, Edison could clearly see the girl standing there. He then walked over to the girl and checked her face to see if it was his Gillian. And to his surprise it was his Gillian, he then hugged her. Gillian again tried to push him away, but it didn't work because he was standing and using all his strength to hold onto her. Edison then pushed Gillian against the wall and put two of his arms on both sides of Gillian so she wouldn't escape. Gillian tried to kick Edison in the shins, but Edison using his left hand blocked Gillian and used his right arm to hang onto Gillian's waist.
"Gillian, why do you keep rejecting me? Do you know how much I love and care for you? How much I have been through to look at your smile…" Edison said
Gillian could totally smell the alcohol radiating off of Edison and she knew that Edison was drunk, but she just couldn't push him away. Edison kept on saying 'I love you to Gillian', but she just wouldn't look at him so Edison got fed up and kissed Gillian while slowly caressing her back. Gillian once again tried to bite Edison, but luckily he knew ahead of time so he broke the kiss before Gillian had the chance to bite him. Edison was now totally out of his mind and yelled at Gillian, "I told you I love you! And you wouldn't accept me! What's the problem girl…why would you pick Nic over me? Why?!"
Edison then swept Gillian off her feat and took her to the garage where he parked his car and threw her in, and locked the door. It was a special made car that Gillian couldn't leave the vehicle without special knowledge of how the doors worked. He then stepped inside the car and drove off heading toward his home, luckily in his house his dad was not home and it was night time already, so the maids were in bed or have left already. He carried the squirming Gillian into his room and pushed the door closed. Some of the maids downstairs heard all the commotion, but knew that it was just Edison with another wild girl to play with. So they didn't care and went back into their room and closed the door to sleep again. Edison locked the door just in case anyone would try to interfere with him and Gillian. Then he hopped onto the bed, at the same time Gillian jumped off the bed in the opposite direction trying to run out the door. But too late. Edison was quicker so he stood at the door grinning all the while leaving Gillian looking horrified and trembling.
