Gill understand that Nic can’t accept a girl that is not virgin to be his wife. Is it true when people said, “ Don’t let the outside fool you.” Nic seems like a player outside, a cold and mysterious guy. But deep inside of him, he’s the traditional type. The people don’t know him might think him as a modernize type. They might say that he don’t care if his wife sleep with another guy and later marry him. To him, that is just not right. But the people who knowing him too well, they will understand it perfectly well.
For a tough guy who always covers up his weak side had now show his true self, which is to show he a true human being. People might think that he will never cry for a girl, it is now they see his true weak side. Nic try his best to stand strong. He tried to be a man, which is to not drop his tear in front of a girl. But he didn’t make it. It was too emotional for him to not to cry.
Nic run out of the hospital because he doesn’t want Gill to see him cry. Joey saw him walk away, inside she feel like a thousand needles are stabbing her. Her tears were falling down her pink cheek out of sudden. Gill saw that and asks Joey immediately.
“Joey, are you alright? Why are you crying?” Gill asked worry.
“Y…ye…ea…ah, I’m fine Gill” She stutter. " Joey lied and try to convince herself not to think about Nicholas. She doesn't want to hurt any one in the triangle love. It's only her one-sided love. It's always better to keep the feeling to herself. She thought for a second.
Joey has a crush on Nicholas on the very first day she meet him. It was the day where Nic’s first race and Joey planned to go and see him. But she was busy looking present for Nicholas because she has the feeling he’s going to win. Joey and Gill agree that they will go and see the race, but Gill’s phone is out of battery. Gill went to AngleLight603 and wait for Joey but she doesn’t see Joey coming. Later, Joey found out that Gill like Nic and so Joey tried to keep the secret deep down inside and let it fade away. But Joey is stupid enough to go and check on Gill. Giving up the man she loved ever since she first saw him. Joey was hurt and didn't know what to do. She watched them everyday and felt like someone was stabbing her heart. Gill and Nic had a great relationship. But after the day Nic race, Gill decided to break up with Nic. She thought that it would erase in her memory. But the day she saw Nicholas at his house, her heart begin to beat faster and faster. It happened all the time when Gill and Joey were little. Gill always the lucky one and get everything that Joey wanted.
On the other side, Nic step out of the hospital and he doesn’t know where to go. He wanted to go to the bar, but he remembered Gill told him not to drink too much. He thinks about his past, about when Nic and Gill together makes him even sadder. He was walking on the sand when suddenly; someone came up behind him and called her.
“Nic!” The girl shouted. Nic turn around to see who called his name. It was Gillian. It just so weird that whenever Nic is sad, the first person he saw is Gillian. Is it fate? Gill is the one who make Nic sad, and Gillian come and cheer him up. This apply to Gillian too. Whenever she sad, she always see Nicholas next to her. Is it fate brought them together?
Nic somehow have the feeling for Gillian. It is the same as he has for Gill. Is it because they look alike? He wanted to tell her that he really happy to see her and tell her he like her, but the words just don’t come out. Is it because he doesn’t want any girls to hurt him anymore? He thinks that if he puts too much effort into a relationship, it would hurt him, when they broke up. So he never tries to love any one in his life after the Gill incident. He always plays with the girls, going out for them like a week and breaking up with them. He loves Gillian and he doesn't want to hurt her. He wants a long lasting relationship with her, but he is unsure if he is ready or not for that kind of commitment.
“Hi Gillian,” Nic greeted. He realized that Gillian is sad too. He begins to sit down on the sand and say the old quote Gill told him before. It also the one where Nicholas had stated when he saw Gillian at the beach. “Have you ever watched as a huge wave crashed hard into the rocks? It splashes into many directions but eventually it forms back together as one. Those rocks are strong, dealing with life as if comes. Because you won't just face one splash but many others like them. Life is somewhat similar to the surface of the water. Sometimes, it is very quiet and peaceful, so much so that you could not find a single wave, like on a pond or a lake. But sometimes, life is as angry as the ocean on a stormy night, it becomes turbulent and you feel as if you may drown in its power to disrupt you're peaceful existence.”
Gillian looked at him and sit down and think about what he said. “I heard this somewhere.” She thinks and think and suddenly, Nicholas replied.
“Well, because you hear this from me. I remember last time I told you this quote, you just stop and later walk away. I also remembered that my ex-girlfriend told me this quote too. Whenever I’m sad, I always go to the beach and remember what is the meaning of the phrase. It’s funny how I never understand this at the beginning when she told me but I understand it perfectly well when she left me. Is it she left me because I’m in gang and I always fight to live?” Nicholas turns a flash at Gillian and look to the beach again. Meanwhile, Gillian look down and speak lightly.
“Why can’t us human live peaceful in this world? Why do people always wanted to have some war and kill others’ lives? Is it because they don’t have anything to do and want to mess with people’s feelings? I thought he love me but instead he break my heart. What is love when there is no one to love? What's there to say when there's nothing to say? What about us when there's nothing between us? Funny isn’t it?” Gillian said and starting to cry.
“Gillian, if I said I love you, do you believe me?” Nicholas questioned and looked at Gillian’s face. Gillian was smiling at Nic because she thought he’s only joking.
“I don’t know you long, but from your personality, I would say yes.” She joked. She only thinks that Nicholas is playing around and try to make her happy again. She never know that he was serious. Nicholas stand up and walk away and Gillian followed him. Gillian was walking behind him really closely. Nicholas suddenly turned around and his lips accidentally touch Gillian’s mouth because Gillian was looking up. His eyes and her eyes were cross at the moment. He doesn’t know if he should continue kissing her or should he step back a step. But then something push his lips closer Gillian. So they kiss.
The kiss takes about 30 seconds. After Nicholas step back a step, Gillian was blush. She turned and tried to walk away. Nicholas quickly hold her hand back and wanted to tell her that he love her and want her to be his girl.
“Gillian, when I asked you if I asked you to be my girlfriend, and you said yes. I was hoping if you still keeping your answer.” Nicholas looking at her seriously. He was unsure about his feeling at the beginning. He know that he love Gillian, but what about him and Gill? It might because Gill is his first love and it’s hard to forget the first lover. He can say he love Gillian very much but his feeling for Gill is still there and it will always be there. “And I can promise that I can be a better guy than the one that hurt your feelings. I can make you happy and be the happiest woman in this world. So please accept this proposal. Gillian, what will you say?”
“Nicholas, I…I…I” Gillian was confuse about her feelings between her and Nic and her and Ed. Triangle love always hurt one or more. She know that she have the feeling for him. But what about the baby inside of her? She doesn’t know that Nicholas is the traditional type of guy, can he stand that his girlfriend is now pregnant. If he know that Gillian is pregnant, will he ask her to be his girlfriend?
