“That was the best dinner ever Nic. Thanks a lot for bringing me here and make my last few months worth a living.” Gill said and squeezed their entwined fingers.
“It was nothing, Gill are you feeling alright? You look so pale and tired. Do you want to go home and rest?” Nic asked looking worried and scared.
"Is alright Nic. I’m feeling fine. But you know I want to go to AngelLight603. I wanted to watch a race of someone racing!” Gill replied while staring at the beautiful Hong Kong’s night. It seems as if it will be her last day looking up to see the stars.
“Well is alright I guess. It might be the first time you seeing someone racing and you know I’m the best.” Nic joked with his face looking proudly.
“Sure Nic, you’re the best.” Gill whispered sarcastically.
“Hey, what’s that suppose to mean? You don’t trust me?” Nic replied while stopping in the middle of the sidewalk pouting.
“I mean in my heart Nic” Gills just giggled and hug Nic real tight and placed her head slightly on his shoulder, since he is a head taller than her. They stood there like a beautiful couple in the middle of the sidewalk with citizens of Hong Kong pointing and looking at them. Some even recognized Nic but he just glared at them, telling them to leave him alone and be quiet. After a long moment together they finally parted.
Nic took Gill's hand into his and took her back to his slick red Ferrari and opens the passenger door for her. She smiled gratefully at him and stepped into a vehicle with a really big and bright smile. Within a 30-minute drive they arrive at AngelLight603, with Nic parking his car neatly in a reserved spot. He stepped out and strolled over to the passenger side and opened the door. Gill gradually step out and held Nic's hand. The couple walked over to the racetrack with other gangs admiring Nic's surprising presence while looking at the beauty that once caused the crash months ago. Once the news of Nic arrived, a guy with many followers ran up to Nic and spread the people apart.
“Dai lo you should have called. We weren't expecting you I'm sorry for any inconvenience that any of us has caused.” Nic's follower, Stephen, said while lowering his head.
Nic's face was cold for a while, but with Gill's reminder Nic laughed and said,
“Yo it's alright, you're my right hand. I'm just here to watch who ever is racing today since Gill wanted to watch.”
“Wow thanks, Dai Lo. I'm racing today I'm going to make you proud.” Stephen said and wiped some sweats away from his forehead and smiled “Yo! Get two chairs over here for Dai Lo!”
Two guys scurry over with two chairs in hand and quickly set it down for Nic and Gill to sit on. Nic just snapped his hands and the two quickly stood behind the two chairs and stood still as if on guard for something. Nic sat down pulling Gill down on the seat next to him. People look at Nic for a while when Nic cleared his throat and shouted, “Go ALREADY!”
The noise boomed loudly while music blasted from many car stereos. Nic and Gill just sat there and watch people run back and forth while some were trying to take peaks at Nic and Gill. Gill just smiled at them.
“Nic, the last time I went here was to watch you race and back then you were just a rookie” Gill said and giggled.
The cars were up to starting line and people were hooting for it to begin, people shouted, “Go STEPHEN!!” “Go KENNY!!”(Opponent name)
People were rooting and shouting while Gill watch with amazement in her eyes.
“GO STEPEN!!!” A girl shouted and blew a kiss to Stephen. Oddly Stephen did the same thing and took the kiss to his heart. The scene was too familiar…she then remembered when Nic race before.
[Flash Back]
“GO NIC!!!!!” Gill shouted while jumping up and down. Gill wanted to go and sit in the passenger seat with Nic, but Nic said it was too dangerous so he made her stay on the sides and root him on.
“GO NIC!!! YOU CAN BEAT 'EM!! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!” Gill shouted and blew a kiss to Nic who is seated in his vehicle ready to bring another victory home. Nic stuck his hand out and pretend as if he the kiss was blown to him and brought it to his heart. He gave thumbs up and the race began.
[End of Flash Back]
Gill smiled at the thought and sat back to watch the race, the flag was waved and the two vehicles wheezed out like a flash of light and the car's headlights were long gone to be seen. Gill just stood up to catch a better view to see if she can see the cars when her legs began to be shaky and couldn't take her weight. She immediately fell down luckily Nic jump up from his seat and caught her. Gill started to hold on her chest and her teeth start to chatter.
“GILL!! Are you ok?” Nic shouted worried.
“Nic, I'm okay I'm fi” She paused.
Gill start to cough badly and her body started to tremble and shake that was when her long sleeves started to lift up and Nic saw bruises everywhere. It was pure red it was easily to be noticed and when Gill coughed he saw the gum of her teeth bleeding and her face was turning green and her life is soon to be on the risk.
Nic then shouted, “FUCKING!! CALL THE DAMN AMBULANCE!!!!”
The followers quickly pull out their cell phones and dialed '999'.
Gill then reached her hand up to touch Nic's face. “Nic…please calm down…my time to…to live…is running short…I can't be with you for…for…long….”
Gill coughed more and this time blood came out, blood was streaming down the side of her mouth and they seem endless. It just keep flowing out each time Gill coughs. Now Nic's tears were streaming down on his face and he could not see a single soul around him beside Gill who is looking up at him preparing to be taken away by the angels above. He uses his hands to wipe away the blood that had stained her face yet, the blood keep on flowing like a river never ending.
“Gill…no…no…shhh…don't talk the ambulance will be here soon and everything will be alright. Gill trust in me! Everything will be all right! ” Nic whispered while sniffling up his tears and held her hand tight.
“Gill!! Come on!! Keep breathing you can't leave me yet! I won't let you! FUCKING BASTARDS WHERE IS THE DAMN AMBULANCE!!!” Nic shouted as he turned over.
“Nic, there’s a time I have to go. You know it just the matter of time. And so I urge you to take this lightly.” Gill whispered slowly with her last breath/
“NO!! DAMN AMBULANCE!!” Nic shouted. He picked up Gill's light body and ran to his Ferrari. People were now all quiet watching their Dai Lo cry and everyone had tears in their eyes. Blood was trailed as Nic carried Gill's body. Their clothing was stained with blood and where they sat was now a fresh new pool of blood, but no one did anything yet stood still and made way for Nic to get to his car. Nic open the car door and set Gill down lightly and ran to the driver seat. He shakily slips the key into the ignition and roared the car to life. As soon as he heard the car ignited he switched gears and drove as fast as he could to the hospital, he sped down the high way like a mad man. He dodged cars and drove by a policeman who was writing a ticket for another driver. But as soon as the policeman saw Nic's speed driving he quickly put his helmet on and sped after Nic. The policeman's siren was heard, but Nic didn't care he kept driving until he reached the hospital. He quickly carried Gill's limp body and yelled, “FUCKING!! WHERE'S THE DOCTOR!! COME SAVE HER NOW!! IF YOU DON'T SAVE HER AND BRING HER BACK TO LIFE I'M GOING TO BURN DOWN THIS HOSPITAL!”
Nurses and doctors ran out and carried Gill's body on the stretcher and pushed her into the emergency room. Nic just rubbed his temples and walk back and forth the hospital floor with his whole body stained. The policeman ran into the hospital and spotted Nic.
“What in the world do you think you were doing speeding down the highway like that?” Shouted the policeman. Nic was stunned. He didn’t reply back.
“Youngster's these days…You COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE!” Shouted the policeman again.
Nic got irritated and shouted, “YOU FUCKING SHUT UP!! DON'T YOU SEE HOW I LOOK LIKE! IF I STOP FOR YOUR FUCKING TICKET MY GIRLFRIEND WOULD HAVE DIED!! YOU DAMN ASSHOLE!! JUST LEAVE THE TICKET AND GO!”
The policeman then noticed Nic's condition and look ashamed and his duty was to be served so he ripped the ticket and gave it to Nic. That's when the emergency door opened and the doctor came out.
“WHAT'S HER CONDITION? IS SHE LIVING!!” Nic shouted while shaking the doctor violently to get his answer. The doctor tried to pried Nic's finger, but it was too strong of a grip so he gave up and said, “I'm sorry sir, she couldn't be saved…Her body was too badly damaged when you brought her in. The virus was already taken over her body, her heart is soon to collapse. I'm truely sorry, but we have tried our very best.”
“What the hell? You guys are doctor; you should help her instead of letting her die. You stupid doctors” Nicholas falls down his knees in disappointed. Sometimes a man can’t cry and Nic know that. But this time the tears just come out.
“I suggest you to go back and see her the last time.” The doctor concluded and left. Nic quickly walk into the room and she saw Gill is sleeping. Nic sit next to the bed and he began to hold her hand. He whispered lightly and kiss her hands. His tears falling down and wet Gill’s hand. Gill eyes slowly open and she smile slightly.
“Nic,” She breath hardly as she slowly speaking. “I wanted to see my sister.”
[FLASHBACK]
Gill's P.O.V
I was walking quietly yet quickly down the hospital hallways looking for Nic's room. When I finally found it I felt a sudden feeling of being nervous and tremble in my body. I slowly creped my fingers onto Nic's door knob to open the door, but my hand started to get sweaty and my forehead was full of sweat. I know sooner or later I must go in and see his face so with my last hope open the door to reveal and room full of whiteness. The bed was empty. Thinking something might have happen to Nic, I quickly ran around the hospital like a mad woman looking for Nic. I ran around looking for Nic when I reached the 5th floor when I spotted a familiar figure. I knew right away it was Nic's, but who was in front of him? A girl facing her back at me was talking to Nic. I slowly walked up to them when Nic finally noticed me.
“GILL?” Nic questioned.
The girl turned around to see who it was and that was when I realize she looked exactly like me! I was shocked and lost with words. I can't believe someone could look exactly like me! It was impossible unless, they are blood related. That was when I realize could this be the sister that I thought I had lost? Mom had said that she isn't my real mom. She told me that when she just saw me in the hospital, the hospital was on fire. She saw me lying in the crib and she picked me up because the hospital was on fire. She told me that because she lost her daughter during that fire and she saw me, she thought is her daughter and so she picked me up. When she passed away, she told me this and I was shocked. She also told me that she had hire an investigator to find out my background that I have a little sister and my parents die in a gang fight. So can this girl be my sister? It is her it must be. Nobody in this world cannot look so a like. It got to be, her eyes her face it feels as if I'm looking at myself through the mirror. My body started to tremble and I started to cry. Nic look startled and ran to my side. He asked, “Gill, what's going on? Are you ok?”
I ignored his question and stared at my sister while crying. That was when the question was asked, “ Are you…”
The girl stood there stunned, but she stood still and looked at me with lost and confused eyes. Later from the conversation that we make, it finally reveals that she is my sister. And so I found my sister.
