“Gillian?" Nic questioned rather confused even at these moments Gill still wants to see her sister one last time. Gill waiting for Nic to help her lay on the white hospital bed, trying with all her might just to keep herself breathing yet you can see in her eyes she can wait till her sister comes.
“Alright, I'll go look for her right away. Please hang on…” Nic kissed Gill on her forehead one last time and ran out the door. Before the door shut, even though it was barely audible to him he can hear Gill clearly, yet whispering, “Thank you…Nic…”
Nic just wiped the sweat starting to drizzle down his cheeks and ran to Edison's room. He knew that is the place where to find Gillian, he watched her and she's always there. Never leaving his side, at times Nic even feel jealous of Edison. But this time he'll wipe those thoughts a side and do this for Gill. Once Nic reached Edison's door he knock twice and slam open the door. In front of him sat Gillian pealing an orange for Edison to eat while she smiled warmly, until her face turned towards him and her smile faded quickly. It's as almost she's frowning at the sight of Nic in front of her and him looking like a total mess. As Nic shook those thoughts away, he began to yell, “GILLIAN!! PLEASE COME WITH ME!” He ran over to her side and yanked her up to her feat and was about to hold her hand and run, but then she stopped.
“What are you doing?” Gillian shouted and stood her ground and looked up at him.
“Please…Gillian…Gill she's dying! She wants to see you now!” Nic shouted and tears started to streak down his face again leaving Gillian surprised. She stood still not knowing what to do and lost in her thoughts. When she felt the sudden tug of Nic's hand and he ran with her. She didn't know what to do, but her legs just followed Nic's lead. After what seems like an eternity a wide operated door came into view and a nurse ran violently up to Nic, “Sir quickly! The patient can't last much longer!”
Nic still holding onto Gillian's entwined hand ran into the room, with the Nurse standing out sit astonished. “What? This girl…and the patient look exactly alike….”
[Gill's P.O.V]
When is Nic going to come back, I can hardly breathe. I can't last much longer; I can feel my heartbeat slowing down and my oxygen are cut short. I can't even think straight; I can almost see figures standing by my side waiting to take me to heaven. Are they angels? Maybe, but I don't care! PLEASE GOD!! BRING NIC AND GILLIAN TO ME!! It's my only last wish…
As if God had answered my thoughts the two arrived panting hard while I can barely make out their faces, yet I can feel it's them. I can smell Nic's cologne and Gillian by my side. I quickly reach my hand out to them. I felt someone holding onto my hands, it felt rough yet very soft. I knew right away its Nic.
“Nic…you came…I thought I wouldn't make it…” I open my eyes slowly from my quick flash. It seems like he gone forever.
“Gill, you're going to make it! I know you will! Here I brought Gillian…” Nic said and let go of my hand and replace it with a hand so fragile and soft. A smile was clearly planted on my face. Her smile bring back of my reflection.
“Gillian…you're final…finally here…I thought I would…nev...never see you again...My sister…I love yo…you…You're every…everything to me…You're my baby sister……….”
My chest it hurt so badly and I feel like I can't breathe the feeling is even worse than suffocating. I can feel God is taking me away soon, he can't I'm not finished. I have to finish my last words. I have a lot of things to say. I prayed to him that I only wish to have a little time, a little time on this earth to spend with my long lost sister. I just reunited with her and now we have to separate again. This time is forever.
"GILL!! Please stop talking! Just rest…you have to hang on and live older than me!! You must live till your 100 years old!! You can't leave me! We barely united why must, you leave me so soon…." Gillian whimpered and cried loudly
“Sis…don’t cry for me…I don't want to leave see...seeing everyone cry. I want to see yo…you smile… please smile…. one last time…. for me” I whispered with my last breath with my little time to leave this world is soon to come I must finish what I must say quickly. I can barely hear anymore, yet I can hear some sniffles and I open my eyes as wide as I can to see the forced smile on Gillian's face, yet I'm very satisfied with it.
“Nic…” I whispered now my voice is rasp and unclear hopefully Nic can hear my last words.
“Yes Gill? I'm right here…” Nic answered and took the seat beside me almost having to bend over my mouth lending his ears for him to hear me.
“Nic, I love you…and only…you…But…please forget me…and…move on…It will…makes your life…easier…if I’m not…in your life…for once...But then…God brought me…to you and…I’m sorry…for hurting…you. I just wanted…to tell you…that all the things…I’ve done to you…I’m sorry…and please…forget me…Please take care…take…care...of…of Gill...Gillian…lov”
My heart is stopping! I need air! Please just a few more words…I have to tell Nic to love Gillian as he loves me; please God let him move on without me. Please not make him mourn for my death. I'm happy that he's by my side and I don't need anything else. Just let him move on and forget about me. I hesitantly reach out and then I felt darkness….
[End of P.O.V]
“GILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nic shouted while shaking her vigorously hoping that she might wake up and open those eyes that he cherish and love. Yet all the shouting and shaking, she's still not moving. Her body went limp, yet the warmth of her hands on his was still felt.
By Nic's side he can clearly see Gillian run up to her sister's corpses and clasp onto her. Gillian wailed loudly yet through her crying you can still hear her shout, “Gill!! I promise to smile!! Please come back!!!” Gillian began whimpering and slowly slides down onto the ground and cried but somehow her tears don’t come out. Is it true that when you are heartbroken, tears wouldn’t be tear? She regretted she never got to be close with her sister. They were apart for such a long time and when they're finally brought back to her the heavens just had to take Gill away again. Gillian began to close her eyes thinking of how she and her sister reunited again. The tears began to fall down her cheek now as she thinking of it.
“Gillian, I understand how you feel now.” Nic whispered slowly as he come close to her and touch on her shoulder.
“STOP!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!” Gillian shouted and pulled Nic’s hand off her shoulder.
“Please, your doing this is only to cause me grief and pain. I don't want to see you cry, and I know your sister don’t want to see it either. She would expect you to feel happy for her when she left in peace because of all the suffer she been through that disease. Your tears just make her feel that she is left something behind while she should go freely. You promised to smile even after her death and yet you are not keeping your promise. What you're doing is not mourn for your sister, yet you bring more pain to her and everyone who cares about you. Gillian, you have to be strong and you have to smile like you promised to Gill. So above in the heaven, Gill will look down proudly that her sister is happy for her.” Nic said and hugged her and tried to comfort her. He slowly brings her up to her feet and stood up to look at her sister once more. To cherish Gill's face and forever stay in both of their hearts.
Gillian walks over to her sister's side and whispered, “Gill, thank you for everything. I will always be proud of having you as a sister. You will always remain in my heart. Have a peaceful sleep…”
Gillian hugs her sister once and kissed her cheek and stood up and ran outside. Nic was about to run after, but hearing what she had said he let her have some time alone. Nic slowly walk up to Gill's bed.
“Gill…I will always love you. You will always be in my heart no matter what. I don't know if anyone can replace you, but if there are I'll push them away. For I am determined to love you forever and only you till the day I die. Gill please rest in peace and remember Nicholas Tse Ting Fung loves you…”
Nicholas plants one last kiss on Gill's lips and touches her face. He wants this face to forever implant into his heart. He quietly left the room before truly exiting he look back and whisper, “Gill, I know you're around and I will always remain faithful to you…”
With those last words trailing around the room, Nic left the room that his beautiful Gill left this world in.
