As she walk out of the house, she notice that the elevator isn’t working. She begins to take the stairs. It was in a hot summer and she feel dizziness as she step down each stair. She feel her head is spinning. She feel a little sleepy. ‘Is it because of the pills I just took?’ She asked herself.
As she take another step, she lost her control and fall down the stairs. Her head bump into a trashcan. She lay there unconsciously and blood begins to dripping down her dress.
Suddenly a man appears. “Gillian, wake up! Are you all right? Wake up!” He shake her violently. He was scare and nervous that something will happen to her. His sweat begins to fall down. He doesn’t know what to do because he was scare. He scare that he will lose her like he lost his sister.
“Call the ambulance. Why are you just sitting there,” A woman yelled. Quickly, he take out his phone and dial the numbers.
The ambulance arrives in a flash.
“Take her into the labor room now. Her water pipe is broken. The baby will be out early. Hurry!” The doctor yelled and rushed the nurses. They quickly take Gillian into the room.
Outside, he was waiting impatiently. He walk back and forth while looking at the emergency light. He keep staring at the light and it seem like it never faded. Can’t stand the waiting, he walk to the door. Suddenly the door open and he immediately run to the doctor and nurses.
“How’s she? How’s the baby? Are they alright?” He asked continuously shaking the doctor. He was hoping there’s nothing wrong with them because he doesn’t want to break his promise to her sister. He promised that he would take care of Gillian and let nothing happen to her.
“Gong hey gong hey! She’s having a baby boy. Even though he is quite small but he is still very healthy. But the mother is quiet weak because she loss quite of blood. But after a few day rest, she will be all right. You can go and check on her. She really needs your support and caring. Every mother love after having a labor” The doctor said cheerfully and shakes Nic’s hand congratulating him as the nurse push her bed to the patient’s room.
“Thank you doctor.” Nic whispered and he starting walking in the room.
“Do you really want her to know that you follows her and take her into the hospital?” A voice behind shouted. “If I were you, I will stay anonymous.”
“Why would you say that Joey?” Nic questioned as he turned around and look at her directly.
“Nic, I’m a woman. I understand how she will feel if you appear in front of her face and care for her. It will feel like you replacing her with her sister even if you truly lover her and care for her.” Joey stated. There was a silent between them. Breaking the silent, behind them a voice appear.
“Is Gillian alright?” A man asked in a weak tone.
“Edison? You awake?” Nic questioned surprisingly. “Anyway, go in there and check on her, I’m out man.”
Nicholas left. Inside he feel quite unsure that if it was right for him to do. He wanted to stay and check on Gillian but he don’t want her to feel that he’s replacing him. But when he see Edison, he feel like he should leave. Edison done all the things for Gillian and he feel like he deserve him more than he does. He believe that Gillian would end up happier with Edison than him.
Edison slowly push his wheelchair into the room and next to her bed. He slowly hold her hand and smile. He was so happy to see her again and he thought that he would never see her anymore after the accident.
“Gillian, I promise I will make you the happiest woman on earth.” He whispered slightly to her ears. Time pass by in a blink and Edison doesn’t know why or how he fell asleep. A lightly tap, Edison wake up.
