Chapter 3
Race Of The Past
“Excuse me, did you just call me?” Gillian asked. She wasn’t sure if he was calling her, because he only said “Gill” and not her full name. Gillian doesn’t know him; she never met him before so how could he know her name. Even more, she doesn’t even hang out with these people. Gillian found it weird and she was curious about why he called her name.
“You’re Ceci’s cousin right? I heard a lot of things about you from Ceci.” He lied of course, few people know about his past. And even less know that Nic truly loves Gill.
“Oh.” Gillian exclaimed in a thoughtless tone. She never realized that there could be another girl named Gill, who coincidently looked exactly like her. But Gill is a outgoing person, not cold hearted like Gillian. Gill and Nic had a wonderful relationship in the past, but she still left him without any reason.
-Noted: Gillian had a twin, one she doesn’t know. And remember that Gill is Nic’s ex and Gillian is the girl he just met. Nic thought that Gill came back, which is not true, it’s Gillian. Hope it’s not confusing for you guys to guess.-
Gillian later turned to Cecilia, and handed her the bling bling. Nic started to walk over to his car; he left without saying anything to Cecilia. When Cecilia looked to her side and noticed that Nic was gone, she immediately ran after Nic; because she want to be in the passenger seat of Nic’s car. She ran after him like a servant girl running after their master.
While Ceci was running, Gillian thought to herself, “She treated me like her maid all these years, now look at her now tailing after Nic like a dog. Oh well, because of her mom and dad I must respect her.” While Gillian was in deep thought Ed turned around to look at Gillian, “Wow even though she's thinking about something so tentatively she still looks like an angel from above, sent down to stand next to me...I feel so lucky...” Edison thought.
As Nic was making his way through the crowd, people cheered and roared cause of his tremendous victory last time. Then one of the guys from the crowd yelled out, “Yo! Brother Nic, I bet a large amount of shiet on you today! So you got to make our gang proud!” Nic heard the guy yell, so all he did was gave them a thumbs up, and walked off, with Ceci tailing behind of course.
Gillian heard what the men talking to Nic in inappropriate language; Gillian somehow finds it’s rude, and hides them in her head, being sure not to say it aloud. “What a loser, never got any education, they can only speak some trashy language.”
Nic got into his car and started the engine, he revved the engine a few times to warm it up, making sure it was ready for the race. Nic was driving a BMW Z4 (sports car). The car is a two-seat silver convertible. He had the top down so when he drove by you could see his hair flying in the strong wind. Nic wore some dark black sunglasses to not only protect his eyes from the dust but it definitely added to his "cool" image. Ceci knew that Nic was going to drive a convertible so she brought her sunglasses for herself and also the bling bling that Gillian brought to her. Just before the race began, Cecilia tried to give Nic the bling bling, but Nic refused to wear it because he thought that the bling bling was stupid and ugly.
Ed finally noticed that it was time to start, so he pulled Gillian over to his viper and open the car door so Gillian could sit down. Then before he got into his seat he asked Gillian, “Are you ready?”
“Ppsshhh! Just get in, damn it!” Gillian replied while she rolled her eyes. Even with the attitude Ed still found her to be adorably cute. So he went over his side, sat down, and turned on the engines of his car. Ed's car was loud and you can tell that the car is super fast, faster than any average racing car. Ed saw the green flag being raised and revved his engine by stepping on the gas pedal real hard, to get his car engine warmed up and ready to ride with the wind.
Finally the green flag is raised and all the cars including Nic's and Ed's prepared their cars for the start. The crowd started to cheer and go wild when they saw the flag move down from the flagger. Some people yelled, “Go brother Nic!” and others, "Go Edison! Your the man!”
The guys just smirked and kept their eyes on the flagger. The flagger quickly waved the starting signal and the sound “VROOM” was heard as the cars sped off, trying their best to pass each other. Eddie's car was in the lead because his car had the best takeoff. Then another car, a Porsche Carrera GT, was in second and then finally Nic's BMW in third. Nic didn't take the lead right away because he hadn't used the turbo yet, and also his mind kept having flash backs of Gill's face, and the letter she wrote to him before she left him.

Listen to the song; I wonder if you have ever thought the same way? Well doesn't really matter now. My love for you will eventually fade away like yours for me and our memories together were nothing to you and to me but an imaginary story put together by two crazy people. We will be the strangers on street, a nod or maybe a smile as we pass by, greeting each other. “Hum...she looks familiar. Have I met her somewhere?” “He looks like someone I know from the past. I wonder if we have ever encountered.” But then life moves on, so we move along with life. But that was the worst scenario I could come up with. Perhaps we will meet someday again, “Hello, how have you been?” “I am fine thank you and what about you?” “I am all right. Hey, I am busy, I will catch you later.” “Sure, keep in touch.” And actually, we will never call or see each other again, forgetting when we last ran into each other. We have become so polite, so professional with our greeting. We're afraid to stay with each other a minute longer. Funny isn't it. But that is real life. Farewell my love, for the last time, thinking of you.

Nic tried to shake off the memory of Gill's face but instead he made his car swerve left to right. Then Cecilia finally got fed up and yelled, “NIC! What are you doing? Remember we are in a race! Common, pay attention!
After what Ceci said Nic finally got his mind off Gill and pressed on turbo and sped all the way past the second car and rite next to Eddie's car. Eddie looked to his right and noticed Nic's car.
“Oh shit, he’s catching up. Fuck, I won't let him pass me. Hell no.” He yelled out and Gillian which somehow found it funny. Ed pressed on the gas pedal harder making the speedometer go crazy! Nic saw what Ed was doing so he pressed on the gas pedal as hard as he could, but for now Ed was still in the lead by half a car and the race was about to end. Nic and Ed were going exchanging the lead with each second, everyone in the crowd could see them racing very fiercely to hold the lead position. Everyone was nervous and trembling, watching the two great racers try to win. Nic and Ed were beyond speeding trying to beat each other but finally near the end Nic pressed the turbo on max and he passed the finish line 5 seconds ahead of Ed . Everyone cheered for Nic for the victory but they also cheered for Ed because he was so close.
Edison stepped out of his car, as did Nic. Edison wasn’t really mad because he found himself having fun and because Nic is a very good competitor.
“My man, Nic you rock!” Ed said and smiled. He offered a handshake but Nic shrugged his shoulder and walked off, and of course Cecilia was behind him.
Suddenly, Edison turned back to the car, because he forgot Gillian was in there. He thought that Gillian would be scared to death, but when Edison looked down, Gillian was reading a book, which she had carried with her earlier when she left the house.
“Are you ok?” Edison asked in a suspicious voice. He somehow found it weird, most of the girls are scared when they are so close to the race.
“Do I look like I’m not?” Gillian mocked. She quickly got out of the car and walked away.
“Wait, I don’t know your name yet. What’s your name?” He yelled.
Gillian heard his call but she didn’t respond. She kept walking away.

Background and Info: She got adopted when she was little. Her foster parents are the opera singers. They are easy going, and mostly, funny. She didn’t know that she got adopted yet. Later, she’ll find out. She is Nic’s first lover, not Gillian. Gillian is her twin. She is funny to be hanging around, also sweet, innocent, not like Gillian. Gillian is cold, which you can see.
