"PING"
The noise from outside the window waking Barbie Xu up from her deep sleep. The nexdoor neighbour must have had their usual late-night party again. Barbie thought to herself. Grumbling, she turned over in her sleep, clutching her pillow to her ears.
"PING"
Barbie opened one eye..
"What's that annoying noise?" She sighs. She closed her eye, drifting off again.
"BARBIE!!!"
That did it. Barbie sat upright on her bed. She swayed drunkenly as she walks towards the window and opens it rather forcefully. Her eyes widen when she saw who it was.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT BAO LONG!!" She yelled rudely to the intruder.
"Hello to you to, princess." said a grinning Jerry Yan. He had bunch of peebles on his palm. That pig was obviously enjoying the annoyed expression on his ex girlfriend's face.
"Did you know what time it is?"
Jerry opens his mouth
"It's almost TEN!" Barbie cut him before he could answered the question.
Jerry held up his left hand to check on his watch "No..actually, it's five minutes before ten, Bie. And--Ei!!" Jerry ducked in time as a shoe flew over his head.
"EXACTLY!" Barbie jabbed her finger at him. "And unlike you, some people does need their sleep!!"
Jerry smirked, ignoring the remarks. "I didnt know that KISS were auditioning for a new member." He teased, reffering to the white masks on Barbie's face.
"Bite me, Yan."
"Why? Brown didnt come over tonight?"
"We were in the middle of a hot sex when you interrupted us." Barbie said sarcastically, but couldnt help chuckling herself. "And it's BLUE, you moron! Not Brown."
"Whatever." Jerry shrugs. "Now let's get that lazy butt of yours down here, Missy."
"Why?"
"Cause I have something for you. A birthday gift."
"Jerry." Barbie smiled, as she tightening the tie of her bathrope and for a first time realized that she didnt wear anything underneath. She went straight to bed after a long bath earlier. That's why. "My birthday isnt for another 48 hours."
"I know. But you're going to stay at your parent's house tomorrow." Jerry smiled. "Just called this an early birthday gift."
"Okay." Barbie sighs. "Does Zhi Ling knows that you were here?" said Barbie, reffering to Jerry's girlfriend. Jerry just shrugs. "Alright then. But let me change first."
"Why?" Jerry said, furrowing his brows. A naughty smile played across his handsome face. "Are you naked underneath?" The blush on Barbie's face answered his quesstion.
"Shut up."
"Come on." He grins "It's not like I havent seen it befo--"
"AAAAGHHH!!!" She threw another pair of shoe to him. Jerry roared in laughter. "Just give me ten minutes."
"Five!"
"Make it seven"
15 minutes and 22 seconds later Barbie went downstair and opens the front door for a grumbling Jerry. "So much for a five minutes."
"Yeah yeah yeah." Barbie said, rolling her eyes as she puts on a sandal. It's my birthday, remember?" Said Barbie sweetly back at him.
"Rainie's asleep?"
"I think so."
"You two are so need to get a life." Said Jerry as he grabs her hand and making their way towards his car.
"Look who's talking."
"No, I'm serious."
"It's a school night, Bao Long."
Jerry tugs one of Barbie's braids affectionately "And you're twenty six--"
"--twenty five!"
"--and you definitely gonna need another excuse other than that lame one."
Someone was watching them behind a curtain. She had a phone receiver crooked on her neck. "Yeah, yeah, their leaving with Jerry's car." She whispers. "And oh, hello? He's holding her hand."
"So?" The person from the other line said.
Rainie Yang rolled her eyes. "They wouldnt do that if they didnt have any feeling for each other."
"So?"
"Ken Zhu, you can be so stupid sometimes."
"Ei! watch out! Beside, I holds your hands everytime too. Especially when we wanted to cross a street. But not because I had a feeling for you. Just so you know!"
"What makes you think that I had a feeling for you?" Protested Rainie.
"Oh, alright!" Snapped Ken. Trying to hide his dissapointment. So much for fishing here. "Now, how about going to Bie's room and finds some clue to where he's taken her."
"Oh, okay."
"Call me back, okay?"
"Hah! Admit it, Zhu. You are hot for me. You cant wait to me to call you back."
"Dont flatter yourself, squirt!" Ken said, laughing. "Now shoo. Call me back in five minutes."

"Are we there yet?" Asks Barbie for the nth times. "And please oh please take this smelly bandana of yours off of my eyes." She wailed.
"Almost there, Bie. Hang on. And my bandana is totally NOT smelly."
"That's what you've been saying for the last ten minutes."
"Really? That long? How did you know that anyway? You cant even see."
"I just knew."
"We're here." Jerry said as he hits the brake.
Barbie heard him opened the car's door and dissapear outside. A second later, he opens the passenger door and helped Barbie to get out.
"Can I open it now?" Begs Barbie.
Jerry untied the knots of the bandana. "Here we go." He said.
Barbie blinked for couple of times to adjust. She gasped when she realized where they were. "What are we doing in here, J? I though they were closed for construction?" Barbie said as she looks around her. They were at the 'old drive in. Barbie smiled as she remembered how often she and Jerry used to spend times here on their dates.
"Well," Jerry said as he stepped in front of her. "I guess they made an exception for tonight." He turned around, cupping his hands around his mouth, making it looks like a microphone "She's here." He yelled towards the huge screen before them "The birthday girl's here."
"Jerry." Barbie laughs "What are you doing???"
Jerry pulled her back towards his car and motioning her to climb to the top of the car's roof. He follows her later on. "Just wait and see." He smiled.
The screen started to blink and a huge letters appears the second its on. A 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBIE' words written on it. Barbie's eyes were brimming with unshed tears when she saw that. "Oh, Jerry."
"I hope you're up for a Cartoon-athon tonight." He said, as he poked her playfully on the ribs.
Her eyes widen when she saw what movie it was. "A Shark tale!" She squealed. "I havent seen it!!"
"I know." Jerry beamed.
"Please tell me that 'MULAN' were up after this."
"Er.." Jerry scratches his head. "Sorry.I forgot about your lifetime favorite."
"It's okay." Smiled Barbie as she pats his hand.
"But I have the next best thing."
"CINDERELLA??"
Jerry fights the urge to roll his eyes. Barbie can be such a girl sometimes. "Um..no. Mulan 2."
Barbie frowns. "I thought that it wont be released for another month."
"Let's just said that I had a connection." Jerry beamed.
A woman in a fifty's inspired costume appeared beside her carrying two cans of Pepsi and popcorn. Barbie takes it and said thanks.
"Pass the popcorn please." Said Jerry as Barbie snuggled closer to his chest.
"Um," Jerry swallows the popcorn before he continues "just so you know, Rainie and Ken were planning a surprise birthday party on your birthday."
Barbie looks up and laughs "Surprise?" She shakes her head in amused "Those two had been doing it for two years straight. I dont think it's a 'surprise' anymore."
"Yeah, that's what I said." Jerry said, as he popped another piece of popcorn to his mouth. "But just try to act better this time, okay? You screamed 'I cant believe it' last year before we even opened the door."
Three hrs later..
Jerry came back from the Candy stand carrying a giant chocolatechip cookie with a candle on it.
Barbie's hand flew to her mouth when she saw that. That man had never cease to amaze her. "Oh, Jerry." She blurted out "I love you."
Jerry froze and looks at Barbie for a moment.
"--for doing this." Barbie stuttered. "All of this. I--I didnt mean--" Barbie looks at him panickly, trying to find the right phrasing.
"I--it's cool." Jerry clears his throat. "Um.." he motioned the 'cake'. "Make a wish."
Barbie smiled sadly to herself *I wish that I could turned back time. I wish that we're still together. I wish that--*
"Just blow the damn candle already." Said Jerry irritably. *She must have wished that idiot boyfriend of her were here instead of me.*

"I had fun." Barbie said as she opened the front door of her apartment that morning.
"I'm glad you did."
Barbie stepped closer and threw her arms around his neck. "You're like the bestest guyfriend a girl could ever asked." She said as she pecked him on the cheek. "Thank you."
"My pleasure." Whispers Jerry as he wrapped his arms around her waist. He leans down towards her and kissing her (barely kissing her). He pulls away quickly. "I--I'm sorry." he stammered, started to back away.
Barbie was pretty speechless and lets him go without hesitation. He goes towards his car without looking back and speed away.
Barbie slid down to the floor with hand on her mouth..still couldnt believe that Jerry just kissed her..

"So."
Rainie's voice waking Barbie's up from her daydream. She couldnt sleep after that incident and now sitting in the kitchen, slurping on a coffe.
"What so?"
"What's Jerry doing here last night?"
"Oh, sorry." said Barbie "Did I wake you?"
Rainie shrugs. Of course that she wont tell Bie that she was up all that time when Bie had that interesting conversation with her ex. "It's okay. So," Rainie grabs the morning paper and pretends to make her voice as normal as possible. "what's up?"
"Jerry surprised me with an early birthday gift."
"In the middle of the night? Hm.."
"Oh, stop it, Cheng Lin."
"What?" Said Rainie innocently.
"Dont Hmm..me."
"Spit it out, girlfriend."
"Rainie." Barbie sighs "You've been waay too preoccupied with that lately." Jerry and I are just friends right now."
"Right now..see how you phrase that?"
"Rainie!"
"You want him bad, admit it."
"Oh good." Barbie buries her face in her hands "One of these days he's going to overhear you and oh god," Barbie stared at her friend pleadingly "you dont say stuff like this to him, do you? I mean, please dont get him to even think in that direction. I mean, he's with Lin Zhi Ling--"
"--aka dumb bitch."
"--and that's what he should be focusing on." Barbie said as she paced back and forth "I mean, just because that he kissed me doesnt mean--"
"--whoa whoa whoa!!" Rainie held up her hand. Gesturing Barbie to stop. "Back off for like 500 feet." She grins "You guys KISSSED??"
Barbie sat back and started banging her head repeatedly to the kitchen table. "Me and my stupid big mouth."

"Ken?"
"Yeah?" Said Ken as he puts his shirt on "Why are you whispering? And how come that I could hear water running? Dont tell me that you're calling me while you're sitting on a toilet, Cheng Lin!"
"I'm in a shower." Hissed Rainie. "Barbie didnt know that I'm calling from her cellphone."
"Okay, what's up?"
"Next time you see Jerry, do me a favor, will ya?"
"What kind of favor?"
"Finds out how he feels about Bie."
"Ei! Why dont you ask him yourself?"
"Because they kissed last night er..this morning. Whatever."
"HE DID WHAAAT??"
Rainie pulls the phone away when she heard him shouting.
"I know. I'm shocked too."
"What about Zhi Ling?" He's with her now."
"Forget about that whore."
"Okay. I'm going to Jerry's place right now."
