"Changmin, here, I got you a present," Yoochun drops a gift on my lap.
"Why does the wrapping paper shows reindeers ?" I turn the box over in my hands. The wrapping paper, which is pale yellow, is manifested with prancing reindeers. Or things with antlers.
"Remember the Balloons mv ?" Yoochun hyung smirks at me. "Nae eoril jeok kkumeun ..."
I hit him with the present he gave me. Using his left hand, he hits me back. Dramatically, I clutch my left arm, groaning in pain.
"Just open my present !" Yoochun brushes my hand away. I stick my tongue out at him and pull out the ribbon tied around the gift.
Slowly, just to annoy Yoochun, I tear away the wrapper. Starting from the corner of the gift.
Yoochun taps his foot and folds his arms.
I flash him a sweet smile before going back with my gift-unwrapping.
5 minutes passed and I'm not even halfway done. Yoochun lets out a defeated growl and snatches the present away from me.
"I'll open it for you !" Violently, he tears the wrapping paper away, revealing a big box of my favourite chocolate.
"Whoo, thanks, hyung !" I grab the box of chocolates and give him a sideways hug.
"Hey, but you still have to share," he reminds me.
Share ? I bet he'll steal half of it away from me.
After taking one, I pass it around the van. Everyone else takes one. Except for Yoochun. He takes two.
"Here ! Open my present !" Junsu hands me a gift.
I smile at him and opens it quickly. Inside is new handphone. It's white, my favourite colour.
"YAH ! Junsu hyung ! Thank you !" I clutch my new phone in delight. I've been eyeing this for a while now. I can't believe Junsu bought it for me.
"Here you go, kiddo," Jaejoong, with a piece of chocolate stuck on the corner of his mouth, shoves a gift at me.
I open it and inside are 5 new CDs.
I grin at him. "Thank you, Umma."
"Stop calling me that," Jaejoong ruffles my hair.
Sheesh. It took me nearly half an hour to fix this. And now, it's all ruined.
"And last but not least," Yunho announces, turning around and giving me his gift. "My gift."
I open it up. The next moment, a brand new iPod is gleaming up at me.
I grin up at Yunho. "If I can kiss you, I would."
"Okay, don't ..." Yunho turns around to face the road again.
The gifts are all very nice. And my hyungs really care for me, I know that.
But there is something I really want. And I'm not sure if I can get it.
In the corner of my eye, I watch as ______ rubs away the chocolate on Jaejoong's mouth.
This is weird. I've never felt this way with a cute girl before. Normally, when one walks past, and the others are all 'Wow', I'll be indifferent. I won't say anything.
I won't feel anything.
But with ______, it's different.
I badly want to see her smile. Just once.
I want to see her smile for me.
I feel the chocolate box on my lap moving slightly. I break out from my fantasy, only to see Yoochun secretly taking more chocolate from the box.
YAH, the box is now 1/4 empty !
I slap Yoochun's hand away. "Is this supposed to be mine or yours ?!"
"Mianhe," he wipes his mouth. "It's just so yummy. I never thought your favourite chocolate could be so delicious."
I roll my eyes at him.
Suddenly, the van shudders to a halt. I look out of the window.
We're here !
Without waiting for the others, I open the car door and bolt out. The aroma from the food wafts into my nostrils, making me salivate for more. I take a deep breath to inhale as much nice smell as I can.
"Alright, weirdo, let's go," Yunho claps me on my back.
Everyone is already out of the van, the boys with their disguises of course.
_______ walks up to me. "You forgot your cap." She tiptoes and puts the cap on my head.
I blush as the smell of her perfume hits me on the face. It's smells nice.
Maybe even nicer than the food.
Oh no. What am I saying ? Since when do I think that girls smell nicer than food ?!
Oh God, this girl is changing me.
"Let's go in then. We've booked the whole restaurant for you," Junsu winks at me.
You mean, the WHOLE thing ? No more lines at the buffet table ? No more toddlers crying beside you as you attempt to eat ? No more fans who try to get your autograph when all you ever want is to have a nice peaceful meal ?
"WHOO !" I jump in the air, and the people passing by looks at me.
Whoops.
I guess I'm too excited.
Grinning foolishly, we walk into the restaurant. As I step in, the waiters start singing the birthday song.
I look around the restaurant. There are balloons and streamers everywhere. In the middle of the room, a big cake is placed on the table. And a long stretch of tables are lined up against the back of the room, filled with delicious-looking food.
The waiters keep on singing and I am getting impatient.
"Happy birthday to you ... !"
Yeah, yeah, hurry up.
"Happy birthday to you !" The waiters stop singing.
I bow at them, to show my appreciation. They smile back and finally, all of us are free to eat !
Oh yes.
WHOO !
I grab ______'s wrist. "Eat with me. You owe me a present."
She looks up at me. "Okay."
Dragging her behind, I run to the buffet table. I take two plates and hand one to _____. She mutters something.
I think she's thanking me. Or something.
With her behind me, I start walking up the table, grabbing almost everything in sight.
Hey, don't blame me. It's my birthday. And I'm hungry. _____, on the other hand, has only a few on her plate. But I'm not going to judge her.
Or anything.
"Hey, ______, try this chicken. It's very nice !" I put a chicken wing on her plate. She looks at it.
"Oh, and these brownies ! Yum !" I take a few and drop them on her plate.
"Oh, and-"
"Hyung, thanks. I'm sure they're all very nice ..." ______ holds up her arm to stop me.
"Nice one, Changmin !" Yunho shouts.
I pull a funny face at him.
Once everyone has taken their food, we all squeeze into one big table. ______ is on my right and Junsu is on my left.
Yunho takes a fork and taps it against his water glass. "Ahem, I'd like to make a toast ..."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Let me eat first. I'm hungry !" I protest.
"You're always hungry," Junsu points out.
"Yeah, you're always asking me to cook stuff for you," Jaejoong adds in.
"Guys, it's my birthday. Be nice to me," I pretend to pout.
"But the toast-" Yunho argues but I cut him off.
"Do it later. When I'm sleeping. Or ! You can write a note and leave it on my table." Without waiting for him to think of a sarcastic comeback, I start eating.
Minutes later, everyone else is eating.
