“Good morning class. Welcome back to school.” Aaron gazed at the teacher, forgetting what was in his mind. “For all who do not know me, I’m Mr. Yen. I’m looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. Please to say, work your hardest and go beyond your dreams of ever experiencing a lifetime. Work your hardest for yourself, not for me. It is your future.” He walked around people with his hands behind his back.
“Today...you are introducing yourselves to each other… in front of the class.” Everyone whined. He walked back up to the front. “Please tell us your name. Tell us where your parents do an--”
*Knock, Knock, Knock*
Everyone looked at the door. A female standing there scratching her head and slid a small smile. The last one to look at her was Aaron; and when Aaron looked at her…there was simply no expression. Blank. He just…simply stared. Xiao Xun looked at Aaron and looked back at the female.
Mr. Yen smiled at her. “You’re late, but since it’s the first day of school, I’ll let you go for today. There won’t be a next time you know. ”
“I’m sorry sir. I got lost. I can assure you it won’t happen again.” She looked around for a seat. “I’ll just sit and you can continue with your discussion.”
“Nonsense, come up here.” She walked towards the teacher. “Since you’re late, you’re going to introduce yourself first. Name, Profession of your parents, siblings, and what you want to do after graduation.”
“Well I….I suppose.” She raised her stuff up to her hips and shook them. He smiled and directed a finger at an empty seat in front of Aaron. She went to put her stuff onto the desk and looked at Aaron. He gave her a sly smile. She quickly looked down and started walking up to the front. Everyone waited for her as she took a deep breath and began.
“Hello everyone. My name is GuiGui.” Everyone laughed.
“That’s cute! GhostGhost!” someone cried out.
“Awesome.” another one cried out.
“Quiet!” Mr. Yen warned. “Continue.”
GuiGui nodded. “Umm…my father is here on business with the company Introtech Co., they contacted him for suggestions; therefore he’s been hired as the CFO, the responsibility of financial management. He’s been only hired for 2 months, but the CEO’s been knowing my father for a very long time. For what I’ve been told…”
MeiMei, Xiao Xun and Chun looked at Aaron as he rose a bit from his seat suddenly gathering her information into his head. “Anyways, I have an older brother Ah Wei, and younger sister Ya Tou. She is a junior in high school, very pretty and smart. When I graduate, I either wants to become a photographer, open up a restaurant, or end up being a business woman…and I guess that’s it?” GuiGui asked looking at Mr. Yen.
“You forgot to mention your mother. What does she do?” Mr. Yen asked.
Silence fell into the room. GuiGui couldn’t speak. No words came out and she looked down. Mr. Yen laughed. “Alright go sit down. Thank you GuiGui. Who’s next? You sir.” He pointed to Chun. Chun sighed and stood up. GuiGui sat down and listened to each and every one of her classmates.
Five hours past and everyone started falling asleep. Mr. Yen kept asking people questions and that made it worse. Even he got tired of it after the twenty-third one.
Mr. Yen sighed deeply. “Last two…MeiMei you first then you sir.” MeiMei smiled and walked in front.
“Hello!. My name is MeiMei, my dad is the principle of this school. My mom is a zoologist, one dog, one sister Mia. My profession is to become a famous ballerina.” She looked at the teacher. “Can I sit down now?” he nodded.
“Okay…your turn.”
Aaron started walking up the front, and as he walked by, GuiGui smells something. Was that…perfume? It was….Man it smells disgusting! GuiGui looked around and saw a girl putting perfume on just as the guy is walking up in front trying to get his attention. All the girls squirm in their breaths. They thought he was absolutely handsome. GuiGui thought they were nuts. He is attractive, but what’s up with the OH MY GOD HES HANDSOME? GuiGui looked at a girl to another and saw MeiMei talking to Xiao Xun who went up earlier talking about becoming a model. Chun made a coughing noise and everyone gazed at the front to Aaron.
“My name is Aaron. My father owns the company Introtech Co., as you all may already know. My mother spends most of her times in her café taking care of business. I’m the second oldest. My oldest brother is Calvin who is a freshman in college. My parents adopted a son and named him Wang Zi. Everyone should know he is the same age as I, but is in a different class. After graduation, I want to fall forward of making my father’s company rise up more. Either that or open up a restaurant.” He looked at GuiGui. GuiGui’s eyes grew big. Whao, he also wants to open up a restaurant. And!! His father is the CEO of the company Introctech! AND! Both the fathers are old friends. This is just
too spooky.
Aaron looked at the teacher and walked back to his seat. The bell ran. Mr. Yen sighed gratefully. “Thank god lunch is here. It’s amazing how thirty-eight students spent five hours introducing themselves to one another.” He ran his hand through his face. “Glad that’s over. Have a good one hour break. See you guys in a bit. You may be dismiss.”
Everyone packed and started heading out the door. “Hello.” GuiGui turned around. Oh….that girl.
“Hello.” GuiGui turned back to pack her stuff again. After she was done she turned back to them and smiled. “You must be MeiMei, and you must be Xiao Xun.” They giggled and nodded. “We like your name. Very unique. GuiGui.” MeiMei said smiling.
“Thanks.”
“Where are you heading?” MeiMei asked. GuiGui shrugged.
“Well then…why don’t you hang with us?” Xiao Xun said smiling.
No. But she couldn’t say it out loud. It’ll be too rude. “Sure.” Now what to do with a ballerina and a model…
Xiao Xun walked towards her. “Don’t worry… we’ll get to know you just as much as you’ll get to know us.”
“I suppose.” Great. I guess having company isn’t so bad. It’ll be fun right??
