Chapter 15

Raymond didn’t know what to do or where to go once he got out of his building. What just happened in his apartment seemed so natural, yet at the same time he felt guilty of betraying Qian.

“Qian…what am I to do?” Raymond murmured as he walked out into the dark street. The rain died down and was now a mere drizzle.

Feeling the need to clear his thoughts and emotions, Raymond walked aimlessly down the street. His mind wondered towards Myolie and then to Qian.

Some much has happened in these past months, Raymond thought. A car drove up behind him and honked snapping him back to reality.

Raymond turned to see a familiar figure in the car. It pulled up beside him and he realized that the driver was Hoi Yee.

Hoi Yee lowered the window and stuck her head out.

“Hi Raymond, I was passing by and I thought it was you.” Hoi Yee said.

“Yeah…taking a midnight stroll.” Raymond said grimly.

“What’s wrong?” Hoi Yee asked.

Raymond shook his head.

“Why don’t you hop in and take a drive.” Hoi Yee suggested. Raymond pondered for a second and agreed. He got into the passenger seat in the front next to Hoi Yee. The car had a luring lavender scent.

“Where would you like to go?” Hoi Yee asked as she swiveled the car.

“Doesn’t really matter, just somewhere to clear my thoughts…” Raymond said in a soft voice.

“Why don’t you leave it up to me then.” Hoi Yee suggested. Raymond nodded, after another ten minutes, Hoi Yee pulled a up to a condominium.

“Where are we?” Raymond asked.

“My place.” Hoi Yee said as she parked the car and the both of them got out.

Hoi Yee led Raymond to an apartment. Inside was all purple. “Have a seat, how about some tea?” Hoi Yee asked.

Raymond nodded and looked around, everything was either purple or lavender. “You must really like purple.” Raymond noted.

“It’s my favorite color.” Hoi Yee told him as she handed him a cup of tea.

Raymond took a sip. The tea was hot and warmed him from head to toe. It had a weird lavender taste. Hoi Yee took a seat across from him.

“So what’s wrong?” Hoi Yee asked.

Before he knew it, Raymond began to tell her everything, even the ‘kiss’. Hoi Yee pretend to listen intently, while in her mind she cursed the two angels. Damn them for ruining her plan!

“You shouldn’t blame yourself for Qian’s death…it really isn’t your fault…” Hoi Yee finally said.

Raymond looked up at Hoi Yee. “What do you mean?” He felt another sensation go through him as he took another sip of the tea. Raymond felt a nagging, a very uncomfortable and mixed feeling.

“What do you mean?” Raymond asked again.

“You didn’t kill Qian…Don’t blame yourself for it!” Hoi Yee told him. She got up and took a seat next to him on the purple couch.

His head throb painfully.

“I did, if I didn’t take her out that day she wouldn’t of died in the storm.”

“No, you’re wrong, you had nothing to do with it. The truth is you did not kill Qian. Myolie and Leila did.” Hoi Yee told him firmly.

Bosco blinked his eyes and sat up. Leila was sitting across from him. “Tell me it’s a dream…” Bosco murmured to himself. He rubbed his eyes and looked at Leila again. Her two beautiful white wings were still there.

“I can’t believe you fainted.” Leila said shaking her head.

“C-can you…get rid of those two things for now? It’s disturbing…” Bosco told her. Leila rolled her eyes.

“You humans are so ignorant.” Leila muttered as her wings disappeared. She now looks like a normal human again.

“So you’re telling me, you and Myolie are our guardian angels?” Bosco asked as he took a seat across from her.

“Yes.” Leila sighed. “Look let me explain.” Leila told him.

“I’m listening.” Bosco told her.

“Myolie and I are sisters. Well we are in charge of the Tower of Fate. Remember almost half a year ago, when you found me on the high way?” Leila asked. Bosco nodded.
“Well, that day, we were supposed to be cleaning the Tower of Fate. Each person’s fate on earth is a crystal orb. …” Leila said not meeting Bosco’s eyes.

“Okay…” was all Bosco could make out.

“Well we broke your orbs and some of your fate escaped. That would mess up your life don’t you get it? And if a person’s fate dissolves, he/she dies. Anyway, that day when you found me on the high way. Myolie and I are sent down to earth to set you and Raymond’s fate back on track…and….” Leila trailed off.

“And?” Bosco asked.

“To capture a demon…” Leila told him softly.

“Demon?” Bosco asked. Leila nodded.

“It’s your doctoring training, Chan Hoi Yee.” Leila told Bosco. Bosco began to chuckle. “You’re kidding.”

“I’m serious, the demon’s original ‘soul’ and aura is purple. You ever noticed it? Isn’t it weird how Hoi Yee is always wearing purple?” Leila asked.

“So that’s why you are so sensitive with purple.” Bosco murmured. “Continue.”

“These birds are my representations.” Leila told Bosco.

“And the lilies are Myolie’s am I right?” Bosco asked. Although it seemed like nonsense, Bosco was beginning to believe what Leila was telling him. “That explains, why Hoi Yee couldn’t enter my place.” Bosco murmured.

Leila nodded. “She cannot come in as long as Myolie and I stay at you and Raymond’s place.”

“There’s something else I have to tell you…” Leila told Bosco. Bosco looked at her.

“We are also responsible for Li Qian’s death.” Leila told him.

“What do you mean?” Bosco asked.

“When Myolie and I crashed your crystal orbs…Li Qian’s also crashed. We couldn’t save any of her fate….” Leila said trailing off. Bosco stared at Leila.

“A-are you serious?”

Leila nodded. Bosco leaned against the couch. “Raymond won’t be too happy when he hears that…” Before Leila could reply the phone rang.

“Hello?” Bosco greeted after picking up the phone. He frowned and looked at Leila. “It’s Myolie…” he informed Leila.

“What’s wrong?” Leila asked.

“Myolie…I know…Leila told me everything…Okay…we’ll look for him right now…okay…do you want to talk to Leila?....Okay…bye…” Bosco said.

“What’s wrong?” Leila asked.

“Something happened between Raymond and Myolie and he’s gone. Myolie’s worried.” Bosco said.

“Hoi Yee…” Leila exclaimed. Bosco nodded.

“She killed Li Qian.” Hoi Yee told Raymond as she began to bewitch him with her spells.

“No…You are lying…” Raymond whispered.

“Myolie and Leila are not human, they are immortals…They were once in charge of the Tower of Fate, but they ruined Bosco and your fate and killed your beloved Li Qian. As a punishment they are sent to earth to make up for their mistakes.” Hoi Yee told Raymond in a soft voice.

She trailed her fingers down his cheek to his jaw. “I on the other hand can help you…and if you want I can bring Li Qian back to life for you too…” Hoi Yee told Raymond.

Raymond looked at the girl in front of him, she was all dressed in purple. Was what she was saying true?

“What do you say? Join me and I will bring Li Qian back to life…” Hoi Yee told him. “Leila and Myolie killed her, they are your enemies…” Hoi Yee whispered. Slowly she leaned against Raymond and kissed him softly on the lips. At the same time she managed to blow a wisp of evil breath into him.

“So what do you say?” Hoi Yee asked Raymond as she pulled away.

Raymond looked up at the Hoi Yee and smiled.

“From now on you will belong to me…” Hoi Yee whispered into Raymond’s ear.

“What do you want me to do then?” Raymond asked looking up at Hoi Yee.

Hoi Yee smiled at him. She pulled up a silver dagger from behind her. “Kill Myolie. I will take care of Leila. ”
