“I think the sun is rising in the east…” Bosco said as he eyed Leila on the mirror of the car.

“Hahaha, that was so funny I forgot to laugh…” Leila muttered.

“Okay, what’s wrong? Myolie’s fine. You’re keeping an eye on me…Hoi Yee’s gone, everything seems to be going fine.” Bosco said as he turned off the ramp. Leila stared out the window and ignored him.

“You know, I’m not really use to this silence. What ever happened to the bubbly angel?”

“I’m not really in the mood…I mean never mind…you wouldn’t understand…” Leila said softly.

Bosco stopped at the red light and turned to her. “I understand, what you need is a nice hot shower and a good night’s sleep. Even angels need their break.”

Leila rolled her eyes.

“Why don’t we grab something to eat and then head back? I know the hospital food wasn’t exactly food is supposed to be.” Bosco told her.

Leila debated whether to tell him. She looked at the time, it was almost eight. Her mind wondered over to Nancy and the guy.

“We’re in Soho and I know this really good French restaurant there, how-”

“No!” Leila exclaimed. The word just came out of her mouth without her knowing.

“I mean…I’m really not that hungry…and I am kind of exhausted.” Leila lied.

“Let’s go home then.” Bosco said. Leila nodded and leaned against the seat of her car. The car went through Soho, stopping at the red light right in front of the French Restaurant. Leila looked out the window and felt her heart skip a beat. There inside the restaurant was Nancy with another guy.

Jolting, she tried to block her side of the window from Bosco’s view. Bosco turned and looked at her.

“You…okay?” Bosco asked her. She was acting weird.

“Uh…heh…yeah…oh look, it’s green light.” Leila exclaimed to her relief.

Bosco stepped on the pedal and droved off. Leila slumped back down to her seat. She had to do something about it…but what?

“How do you feel?” Raymond asked as Myolie made sure she had everything packed.

“Excellent. This place was getting boring.” Myolie said as she sat down on the neatly made hospital bed.

“The poor lilies are dying without your care at home.” Raymond told Myolie.

“You only care about the lilies?” Myolie pouted.

“Of course not, I care about the lilies because they’re your representation, and each time I see them, it is like seeing you.” Raymond told Myolie.

“You and your sweet talk!” Myolie exclaimed. She got up and pecked Raymond softly on the lips.

“Mhhh isn’t it sweet.” A voice said. Myolie and Raymond pulled away in surprise and blushed.

Bosco and Leila stood at the doorway smirking at the two.

“There is something called knocking. It isn’t invented for nothing.” Raymond told his friend.

“Uh….you guys left the door open.” Leila informed them. She dropped down on the bed.

“You look great Myolie.” Leila said as she leaned against her sister and yawned.

“What about you?” Myolie asked. “You don’t look so good. What’s wrong? Not enough sleep?” Myolie teased.

“Her? You should hear the way she snores!” Bosco exclaimed. Raymond and Myolie laughed. Leila glared at Bosco.

“Come on, let’s go.” Myolie laughed. Raymond took her duffel bag and the four headed out.

“It’s really nice of you guys to pick me up.” Myolie said as they turned towards the corridors.

“We have to…you’re a you know what. Can’t afford to offend one right?” Bosco laughed.

“Leila is also one too, seems like you can afford to offend her.” Raymond laughed.

“Oh she’s an exception.” Bosco said playfully receiving a slap from her.

They were out in the parking lot when Myolie stopped. She felt around her neck. “My pendant!” Myolie exclaimed. “I must have left it in the room.”

“Why don’t you two go to the car first, we’ll go get it.” Leila spoke up. The two guys agreed and Myolie and Leila headed back to the hospital. Halfway Leila notice someone.

“Myolie mind if I meet you back here?” Leila asked. “There’s something that I realized…” Leila said.

Myolie nodded. “Okay.”

Leila followed the familiar looking man down the corridor, halting at the corner.

“Why are you here?” Leila heard a voice. It belonged to Nancy.

She peered around the corner and saw it was the same guy in the meadow.

“Look, Nan. Are you going to break it off with the doctor or what? You have to make a choice.” The man told Nancy.

“Look you’re not supposed to be here, can’t we talk another time??” Leila heard Nancy say.

“Two weeks. I’m heading back to the states in two weeks. Make up your mind.” The man said. Leila turned and pretended to be using the payphone near her as the man left.

She turned around and found herself face to face with Nancy.

“You?” Nancy asked.

“What is your problem? I don’t get it, what’s wrong with Bosco? Why do you have to do something like this?” Leila asked Nancy.

“You like Bosco don’t you? That’s why you are so worried over his welfare.” Nancy said matter of factly to Leila.

Leila’s mouth dropped open.

“I was right wasn’t I?” Nancy asked.

“No way!” Leila exclaimed. “I’m his cousin, that’s immoral.”

“You’re not his cousin. Look I’m not stupid.” Nancy told Leila. To Leila’s surprise, she softened. “I’m going to break up with the guy anyway…He’s leaving for the States in two weeks.” Nancy told Leila.

“I picked Bosco.” Nancy told Leila.

“You did?” Leila asked.

Nancy gave her a soft smile and nodded. “I’m never going to see that guy anymore. It was all a mistake.” Nancy assured Leila.

Leila looked at Nancy for awhile. She looked quite sincere.

“Fine, I won’t tell Bosco for now, but you better get a hold of yourself.” Leila told Nancy. Nancy assured her once more and left.

Leila turned the other way to find her sister standing there looking at her.

“How long were you standing there?” Leila asked her sister.

“Long enough to hear something about you like Bosco.” Myolie replied. “So…do you really like Bosco?” Myolie teased.

“No, I don’t, and if you say anything to Bosco or Raymond, I will strangle you.” Leila warned her sister.

“Yeah right you don’t like him…” Myolie muttered under her breath.

That night Leila tossed and turned in bed. Nancy’s words echoed in her mind.

“You like Bosco don’t you?”

“No! I don’t!” Leila grumbled. “I don’t, I don’t, I don’t like Bosco Wong!” Leila muttered.

Did she? She really don’t know.

“Leila!! Leila! What have you gotten yourself into?” Leila asked her self as she laid down on her bed again.

“You can’t like him…you’re not supposed to!” Leila scold herself.

“Don’t think about him….Yon don’t like him!” Leila muttered. But Bosco’s face kept appearing in her mind and memories of them together kept flashing by.

Pulling up her covers, Leila muttered her self to sleep.

“Where exactly are we going?” Leila asked as Bosco pulled up to a large mall, the next day.

After parking the car, the two got out.

“I need your help in something.” Bosco told her. He led to her a jewelry shop in the large mall.

“Jewelry?” Leila exclaimed raising her eyebrows.

Bosco nodded and led her towards a saleslady.

“Hi, Mr. Wong, the things you requested are here.” The saleslady said. She pulled up a racket of beautifully designed rings.

“Rings?” Leila exclaimed.

“Yeah, I need your help.” Bosco said brightly.

“For what?” Leila asked.

“Help me pick the right one.” Bosco told her.

Suddenly it sank in. Leila looked up at Bosco. “You’re not proposing to Nancy are you?” Leila asked in a whisper.

Bosco nodded. “Think she’ll say yes?”

Leila felt her stomach lurch.
