“H-how did you get in here?” Bosco asked.
“You left the door unlocked.” Leila lied. She wasn’t planning to tell him about the extra ‘copy’ of his house keys.
“You followed me all the way home?” Bosco exclaimed.
Leila nodded. She leaned against the back of the sofa and looked at him as he got up. “You should hear the way you snore before. Reminds me of a pig.” Leila laughed.
“So you basically stalked me.” Bosco said as he went to his fridge for a glass of water.
“Stalk? I wouldn’t call it stalking. Follow sounds more-” Leila stopped when the doorbell rang.
Bosco looked at his clock and groaned. “Crap, it was past six already. Look, do me a favor and stay in here until you hear the door lock.”
He led her to his study and shut the door. Then he went to open the door to see Nancy standing there.
“Sorry, I was a little late. I went home to change.” Nancy said. She was wearing a purple top.
“It’s – uh no big deal.” Bosco said. “So do you want to go to Raymond’s place?”
“Yeah…sure.” Nancy said. “Can I use the bathroom first?”
“The bathroom…of course..” Bosco said stepping away. Nancy walked into the apartment and right into Leila.
“Who are you?” Nancy exclaimed.
Bosco gave Leila a look.
“I heard voices, so I came out to take a look.” Leila replied innocently. She took one look at Nancy and gasped. Nancy was wearing a purple sweater. Didn’t Tavia warn her about the demon favoring the color purple?
“You two know each other?” Bosco asked. “No!” Nancy said. “Who is she?”
“Demon…” Leila said looking at Nancy.
“What are you talking about?” Nancy exclaimed. “Bosco who is she?”
“She is uh…” Before Bosco could finish Leila hurled herself at Nancy.
“Look, I know what you’re trying to do and it won’t work!” Leila whispered to Nancy.
“Get off me!” Nancy said shoving Leila away. “Bosco who is this crazy lady?” Nancy exclaimed.
“I’m not crazy you demon! Do you really think I’m stupid? This will reveal you!” Leila interrupted before Bosco could answer. She pulled out a feather and aimed it at Nancy. To her surprise, it remained the same. No change in color. This meant Nancy is NOT the demon.
Nancy, Bosco and Leila watched as the feather dropped softly on the ground.
Nancy turned angrily to Bosco “I don’t know what kind of joke this is. Call me when you grow up! Tell Raymond I send my regards!”
With that Nancy left slamming the door that made Leila wince.
Leila felt her face grow how from embarrassment and she could also feel Bosco’s glare on her.
“Let me explain!” Leila told Bosco as he grabbed her arm.
“No! I think you’ve caused enough trouble.” Bosco told her as he opened the door and shoved Leila out.
“Wai, I’m trying to help you…I was just being-” Before Leila could finish Bosco shut the door in her face with a slam.
“Yo! Open up!” Leila said banging on Bosco’s door.
Bosco scratch his head and rubbed his temples inside his apartment. Suddenly a large wailing appeared from the corridors. It was Leila’s voice.
“You cruel man!” Leila wailed from outside.
Bosco opened the door to see that everyone from the other apartments on his floor had stuck their head out to see what was going on.
Leila was crying and wailing at the same time muttering the most non sense phrases.
Bosco felt embarrassed as he pulled her in. “My cousin from the States…” Bosco explained sheepishly to his neighbors.
“It’s the jet lag.” Bosco added, before shutting the door behind Leila and himself.
Once Bosco closed the door, Leila stopped ‘crying’.
“What do you want?” Bosco asked.
“Just to live here for the time being until I find my sister.” Leila replied simply. Bosco stared at her.
“No!” Bosco exclaimed and Leila started wailing again until he held up his hand in a surrender gesture. “Fine! Fine! I surrender!”
Leila’s mouth spread in a wide smile. “See if you were as flexible as now, I wouldn’t have to put on such an act!”
“You are leaving once you find your sister. And do me a favor, explain everything to Nancy! I don’t want her misunderstanding me.” Bosco said sternly.
“Fine.” Leila said with a shrug.
