After school, Aaron went directly to their house. He opened the door of their house gradually. As what he was frightened of, he saw his mother, lying at the floor, drunk. He hurriedly ran her to the nearest hospital.
He walks back and fort in front of the room where his mom was. Impatiently glimpsing on the clear glass, minutes passed full of tension for him. Just a minute went by, the doctor came out, "Don't worry, your mom is fine. She just needs a rest, go visit her...” Aaron let out a sigh of relief and immediately, his fears and worries faded. He thanked the doctor and went in. He was very thankful that her mother was all fine.
“She's always drunk everyday, I'm worried that One day, She'll be gone from my side like my father did...”Aaron sighed once more, he went towards his mom and watch her, sleeping soundly. He called his older brother Chun to follow them there at the hospital. He left his bag on the table beside her so, if ever she will wake up. She will know that her son was here.
Aaron quietly went out of the room to take some walk... he saw the elevator with the sign "out-of-order". He head at the staircase beside of it, however he noticed a person wearing their school uniform, inside of the elevator, squatting. Aaron was worried that she is from his class; he got nearer to her, “she’s crying?” A second later, she looked up at him... "GUIGUI??" Aaron asked her, stunned... before he even knows it, the door of the elevator behind him, slithered close.
"What! You pressed the button?" He bawled. He crazily pounded the door, but no further replies. GuiGui was just there, crouching at the floor staring at the ceiling. Aaron does not have any choice but to just sit beside her. Aaron struggled and thought to himself “what a wonderful incident, right? I’m suffocated with her”
GuiGui spoke "Stupid... why did you go in? Now I'm even more depressed to see you here with me.” She told him as she sob. Aaron thought once more, “I can feel the sadness in her eyes just like my mom's when dad passed away. I wonder what happened. Why is she here? First time seeing her cry is not good. It is so awkward.”
"You looked funny when you cry" but still, he teased her. GuiGui didn't mind him and replied "You have cell phone? Seek for a rescue!" She shouted. “I left my cell phone with my bag at the room! What the heck!” "I don't have... you? Do you have?” Aaron asked her back but GuiGui shook her head.
"Why are you here anyway?” She asked him with an irritated face. Aaron did not answer her, honestly, he have no idea how to answer. Never did he talk to her so closely before.
A minute passed, GuiGui threw her bag violently and yelled “I HATE THIS WORLD!” Aaron secretly stared at her, still wondering what her problem is. However, he was afraid to ask her, he was afraid to hear another lie from her.
Another minutes passed again, they are still not rescued; Aaron glanced at her and noticed she was sleeping soundly. He sighed. Just then, as Aaron scans his sight here in the small elevator, GuiGui’s bag caught his attention, he detected a cell phone.“Stupid girl, why didn't you let your cell phone out?” Aaron picked up her phone and tried to call but... there isn’t any load! “Useless phone “
Little by little, Aaron got bored inside that elevator, so he read some of her text but the title was "My diary" Aaron chuckled without thinking twice, he continuously read it; 'Day 1: dear diary, it's still so boring here in school, but there is one interesting part I knew... Professor’s favorite number was 15!" Aaron read it until day 10 of last month, his head tilting right and left as he acknowledges more information about GuiGui. At that point, he thought of reading her diary today, Day 11 of August;
"Dear diary, today I had my worst birthday. First, I had to stop a fight from my class to class-I. I treated my classmates at the park but they never knew it was my birthday, I suddenly received a call that my grandma, my ONLY family was at the hospital... I came here, but she already passed away. I really had enough from today. My life is worthless. I wish to die, I wonder what bad things can still happen? I don't want to go home yet, that place is already haunted. I don’t want to be alone, I want somebody’s company."
Aaron thought to himself “I know I had not been good to her all these years, however when I read this, I understood her further. It feels like my heart drowned for a minute when I knew that in some ways, I caused her to cry. I really feel sorry towards her”
GuiGui almost bumped her head on the floor if not only Aaron grab her; He let her head, rest over his shoulder. Now that her opponent knew everything about her, would it be good? Or not. “I got touched from every message here on her inbox. I want to comfort her even just for today. It’s her birthday, just for a dream, maybe she will thought of someone comforting her. All the time, I thought that she was greedy, but now I know, It was all in her precious shell, it was another lie. She cries but no one notice her... I fight with her day-by-day, making fun of her, I didn't know, she was smiling but behind those smiles, there are tears and sadness.”
Aaron gazed closely on her features; this is the first time he ever looked at her. She has this long, curly black hair with highlights of brown, her bangs gently resting across her forehead. She has these cute round black eyes that are now closed peacefully. Her rosy cheeks, her nose and lastly her kissable red lips.
After another minute of waiting, someone finally rescued them; Aaron carried her gently and laid her on the ground. He placed her cell phone inside her bag. He woke her up "HEY! Wake up!” She woke up with blank expression... She hooked her bag and went out. “I wonder where she will stay for tonight. I really want to comfort her, but I can't!”
“GUIGUI!” Aaron didn’t expect he would call her… “WHAT?” She shouted back. “Can…”
