Truth Hurts

Chapter 1

“Yoochun….daddy said to come down and eat.” Yoochun looked up from his homework and saw the cute, chubby, younger boy standing at his door. “I’ll be there in a bit.”

“Ok, I’ll wait for you.” The boy made his way over to Yoochun’s bed and sat on it comfortably. “What are you doing?”

“Calculus homework.” Yoochun replied.

“Oh ok.” The boy remained quiet and laid on the bed waiting for Yoochun to finish his homework.

Yoochun closed his math notebook and turned to look at the boy who remained quiet waiting for him to finish. “Junsu?”

“Hm?” Junsu’s eyes opened and he sat up immediately, hearing Yoochun call him.

“Did you fall asleep?”

Junsu rubbed his eyes. “A bit.”

“Come on, let’s go eat dinner and go to sleep immediately ok?”

“Ok.” Junsu got off the bed and followed Yoochun to the kitchen.

===

“Daddy, Yoochun and I are here.” Junsu announced loudly when he and Yoochun reached the bottom of the stairs and headed towards the kitchen.

“Hurry and come eat. The food is starting to get cold.” Junsu’s dad lectured when he saw the two boys entering the kitchen. “What were you two doing?”

“I was finishing some homework and Junsu waited for me.” Yoochun replied and sat beside his father.

Junsu smiled and sat beside father and began eating.

“Junsu how was school today?” Kim asked, watching his son eating happily.

“It was ok. But I got a lot of homework.” Junsu replied swallowing a big chunk of noodles. Yoochun handed him a cup of water when he couldn’t speak properly. “Thank you. Daddy I got another A on my spelling test.”

“Really? That can go to your other collection of A test results then.”

“Ok, I’ll give it to Yoochun later then.” Junsu giggled and turned to look at Yoochun. “Do you still have my other papers?”

“Yeah, they’re hanging on the bulletin that’s in my room.” Yoochun replied and continued to eat.

Yoochun’s father shook his head, his son was too emotionless.

“Isn’t there too much papers now? Why don’t you throw away the old ones.”

“It’s ok. I can always make room for them.”

“Are you sure?” Junsu used his chopstick to poke at Yoochun’s side.

Yoochun smiled. “Yeah.”

“Yes~” Junsu clapped his hands together. “I made Yoochun smile again. That means he has smile 10 times since he came here.”

“Yah, Junsu.” Junsu’s father called out. “He’s older then you, you should be calling him hyung.”

“But why?” Junsu’s eyes widened cutely. “He said I could all him by his name.”

“It’s ok Mr. Kim. I’m only a few months older.” Yoochun spoke.

“Are you sure you’re ok with that?” Kim asked.

“Yeah.”

“Alright then.” Kim smiled and continued eating his dinner. Watching the small interactions between the two boys. “Oh, Park I have some things to discuss with you later. Is it ok if we went to be a little later tonight?”

Yoochun’s father sat up straight. “Yeah. That’ll be fine with me.”

“Ok then.”

===

“Here.” Yoochun’s hand held out Junsu’s plaid boxers. “Put it on and come over here so I can help you put on your lotion.”

“Ok.” Junsu accepted the boxer and slipped into it. He quickly ran over to where Yoochun was sitting. “I’m ready.”

Yoochun took off Junsu’s framed glasses and set them on the table before using a hair pin to clip Junsu’s blonde hair out of his face. He squeezed a bit of lotion into his hand before applying it onto Junsu’s face. “All done.”

Junsu opened his eyes and smiled at Yoochun. “Thank you.”

“Do you have any homework?”

“Yeah, but I finished it earlier when you were outside with daddy and uncle.”

“Then…you should go to bed. We still have school tomorrow.” Yoochun motioned at Junsu’s bed.

“Can you tuck me in then?” Junsu asked, starting to walk towards his bed. Yoochun followed and pulled the blanket away from the pillow for Junsu to slip in. “Good Night.”

“Night. I’ll be here early tomorrow to wake you up then.” Yoochun informed tucking Junsu’s arms into the blanket.

“Oh! Can you tell Auntie to make me cookies?”

“Cookies? Why do you want to eat cookies so early in the morning?”

“I want to bring them for a friend’s birthday”

Yoochun’s eyebrows twitched. “Ok. I’ll tell Auntie to make them for you.”

“Alright.”

“Hm. Go to sleep now. If you need anything I will be in my room.”

“If I have a nightmare will you come too?” Junsu’s wriggled his eyes playfully.

“Sure.” Yoochun smiled and flicked Junsu’s forehead softly.

“Ok. Night!”

Yoochun pecked Junsu’s head before turning off the lights to Junsu’s bedroom.

===

Yoochun’s dad and Junsu’s dad walked around in the backyard enjoying the warm breeze.

“It’s seems like Junsu and Yoochun have gotten really close in the past three years.” Kim stated and made both males chuckle. “Will we be able to separate them?”

“I have to thank Junsu for helping Yoochun convey his feelings. Yoochun was never able to say what he wanted and he never accepted people into his life.” Park stated and sighed.

Kim smiled and thought back when he had first met Yoochun. Yoochun never smiled, laughed, or talked. He had no friends and would always wear dark colors. “I’m glad that Junsu is able to change your son like this.”

“Me too.” Both the males sat on the bench. “What is it that you wanted to discuss about?”

“Oh about that. Just the usual business.”

“Is it serious?”

“Kind of. A guy by the surname of Choi keeps tracking down my items and taking them. Making the deals fail in the process of trading.” Kim sighed.

“What are you going to do about it?”

“Take him out as soon as possible. I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to hear some ideas. It seems like this Choi person knows everyone of my deals.”

Park rubbed his chin for awhile before replying. “We an just set up a fake deal and we’ll definitely see him there.”

“Simple and easy.”

“I really like your way of thinking.”

===

“Yoochun, you know that it’s dangerous to fall like this right?” Yoochun turned to look at his friend.

“I know.”

“But you keep letting yourself fall deeper.”

“I can stop my mind but my heart just doesn’t listen.”

“Good points about falling in love with him…you’re more open now and your show more emotions. Bad thing…you don’t know how it’s going to end when the truth comes out.”

“We’ve been able to keep it a secret for three years now.”

“We don’t know how long we can keep this going. Your father’s work force is demanding for everything to wrap up soon.”

“I’ll explain it to him, he will understand.”

“Will he understand that his dad is selling cocaine? Killing people? Understand that your father was assigned to ‘kill’ not put his father in jail?” Yoochun remained quiet. “Yoochun, it’s best to pull yourself out when there is still time. When things come to a end both sides will be hurt.”

===

“Are you almost ready?” Yoochun asked walking into Junsu’s room early the next day.

“I can’t find my contacts.” Junsu pouted and stomped his feet.

“Where did you put them last night?”

“In the bathroom mirror. I check it this morning and I couldn’t find it.”

“Are you sure you didn’t put it somewhere else?”

“I’m sure I put it there.”

“Why don’t you just wear your glasses? You look nice in glasses too.”

“But no one wears glasses at school.”

“What if I wear it with you? Will you wear your glasses then?”

“Don’t you already have your contacts in?” Junsu questioned, digging through his dresser to make sure he didn’t place it there.

“Yeah, but I can take them out and wear glasses with you.”

“Ok. Hurry and go take them out then!” Junsu cheered happily.

“I will. Come down for breakfast when you’re done getting your stuff ready.”

“Alright.”

===

Yoochun stared at himself in the mirror. Why was he doing all this for Junsu? Junsu was the only other person he had accepted into his life beside his father and his best friend. Why did Junsu have such a great control on his heart? He knew that it is too dangerous to fall in love with Junsu and it’s going to be painful for both of them when the truth comes out.

‘I shouldn’t let myself fall too deep. It’s going to hurt’

“Ow! It’s hot!”

Yoochun snapped out of thought when he heard Junsu’s yell. He quickly put on his glasses and ran downstairs. Junsu was sucking in his fingers with the tray of cookies all over the floor. “Are you ok?”

Junsu turned and looked at him. “I burned myself.”

Yoochun took Junsu’s fingers out of his mouth and looked at the pink fingers. “Why didn’t you use oven mitts?”

“It was burning so I had to get it out fast.” Junsu replied. “It hurts.”

Yoochun’s nose twitched and he smelt the scent of burnt cookies. “Your cookies, they’re burnt now.”

“Where did auntie go?”

“She had to go grocery shopping this morning so I made it for you.”

“It’s ok. I can just ask daddy for money and we can go buy some.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah can you put medicine on my fingers? They hurt.” Junsu pouted.

Yoochun sighed and placed Junsu’s fingers under cold water while he went to look for the aloe green paste.
