“Why hasn’t anyone come yet? It’s almost been an hour,” Charmaine ringing the alarm.
Raymond was sitting on the floor leaning against the back wall, “Maybe they’re waiting for someone to fix the elevator.”
Charmaine walked over to the left side of Raymond preparing to sit down. The elevator jolted again, making Charmaine loose balance and falling on top of Raymond knocking his hearing aid out of his ear.
Charmaine could feel her face going red, she quickly got off Raymond and sat next to him. Raymond sat up right and felt his hearing aid not in his ear anymore. He got on his knees and began searching for it.
“What are you looking for?” Charmaine asked looking around.
Raymond couldn’t hear her properly; he saw his hearing aid in the corner next to Charmaine and reached over, Raymond was only concerned about getting his hearing aid, not realising how close he was to Charmaine.
Charmaine’s heart began beating really fast, she didn’t know if she should move or just stay in that position. She shifted to her right, Raymond had picked up his hearing aid and moved back up but the elevator jolted again, this time making him lose balance falling on top of her.
Raymond and Charmaine stared into each other’s eyes; blood was rushing through Raymond’s body to his head, uncontrollably he leaned forward and kissed Charmaine on the lips for the second time.
He pulled away quickly, “Sorry.”
Charmaine sat up and sat across from Raymond, and awkward silence filled the elevator. She looked down at the floor not wanting to make eye contact, whilst Raymond put in his hearing aid.
Raymond decided to break the silence, “Bosco told me the Ron is going out with Bernice now.”
“Really? He didn’t even tell me, I think I have to give him a bit of a beating when I see him,” Charmaine quite stunned hearing this news.
“Count me in on that,” Raymond laughed.
Charmaine laughed, it was the first time Charmaine actually laughed or showed mere happiness towards Raymond. The elevator was filled with silence again, Raymond felt he had a need to explain the situation which had just occurred, “Um… about the kiss just then and the one at the bar, I didn’t mean to… well I did but I couldn’t…its because I like…” Raymond stuttering, finding it hard to say his words right.
Charmaine squinted her eyes and leaned forward trying to make out what he was trying to say but all she heard was he mumbling and stuttering, “What?”
Raymond closed his eyes and took a deep breath, “I like you!”
Charmaine was more stunned by this than hearing about Ron and Bernice going out, “What?”
Raymond looked Charmaine in the eyes, “I don’t remember when, I don’t remember how, I don’t remember where, but I know I really like you. I know you have a boyfriend but…”
Charmaine wasn’t sure why but jumped in a corrected him straight away, “I don’t have a boyfriend…”
“I thought Steven Ma was your boyfriend,” Raymond confused.
“He’s just a friend.”
“Really?” Raymond tried to contain his smile but it was just too obvious that he was happy.
The lights came back on in the elevator and a man spoke through the intercom, “Sorry for the delay but the elevator is functioning normal now.”
The elevator stopped at the 38th floor, Charmaine and Raymond exited the elevator and walked to their apartments. Charmaine opened her door and walked inside, she turned around and smiled at him, “bye.”
“Bye,” Raymond heart was filled with joy seeing her smile at him.

*Alexander Building, Floor 37, 8:00am*
Jessica hurried out of her apartment, “I’m going to be late.” She ran to the elevator and continuously pressed the down button.
The elevator door opened with Bosco standing inside, “Morning.”
Jessica jumped inside and continuously pressed the ground level button.
Bosco thought something was wrong, he’d never seen her so rushed before, “you know no matter how fast or how many time you press the button, the speed the elevator travels is still the same.”
“I know, but it makes feel like its going faster,” Jessica still pressing the button, “so Myolie eh? Are you going out with her now?”
Bosco’s heart skipped a beat hearing this, “NO! Course not! Why would you think that? I’m only friends with her, she’s a great person but we are just friends. Nothing else, I’ve only had lunch with her a few times and it was with a whole bunch of people, Charmaine and Bernice were there too…”
Jessica looked at Bosco really weirdly, “Ok, I was just asking.”
“I just don’t want you to think I’m going out with anyone, first Bernice now Myolie…” Bosco explained.
“Right…” the elevator door opened and Jessica jumped out in a hurry, “Bosco is a bit weird today,” she thought to herself while starting her engine to her car.

*Grand Jewel’s Building, 9:34am*
Charmaine, Bosco and Kenneth arrived at the Grand Jewel’s building. “Hi, we are the Hong Kong Police, can we speak to Kenny Wong please?”
The receptionist buzzed Kenny through the intercom, “Mr. Wong there are three officers here to see you.”
“Tell them to come up to my office,” Kenny buzzed back.
Kenny was waiting at the door by his office, “Hi, madam Sheh is it? I think we met last time when you came to talk to Ms. Choi. Come in,” Kenny led them into his office.
Charmaine, Bosco and Kenneth sat down, “we were wondering if you know this man,” Bosco handed him a picture of Derek, “his name is Derek Kwok.”
Kenny took the picture and had a look, “Derek is my cousin.”
“Your cousin?” Kenneth surprised to hear that answer.
“Do you know if your cousin is involved in any legal activity?” Charmaine asked.
“We aren’t that close but we do go out for the occasional drink,” Kenny gave the picture of Derek back to Bosco.
“When was the last time you called him?”
Kenny tapped his head with his pen thinking, “A few days ago I think, can’t remember exactly when but a few days ago.”
“Thanks for your time Mr. Wong, that’s all we wanted to ask you,” Charmaine stood up and shook his hand.
Kenny watched Charmaine, Bosco and Kenneth enter the elevator. As soon as the door closed he went straight into Ada Choi’s room.
“They did exactly what you said they would,” Kenny told Ada.
Ada was on a massaging chair, “I told you, police are really predictable. They obviously checked Derek’s phone records. And if I’m not wrong the next step is to have you under their surveillance. So be careful.”
Charmaine, Bosco and Kenneth exited the elevator, although Kenny’s explanation was legitimate and there was nothing to be suspicious about his relationship, but something didn’t feel right.
“Did you guys find anything weird about Kenny?”
“Do you sense something wrong madam?” Kenneth asked.
Charmaine thought about it for a while, “Something just doesn’t feel right, I want to have him under surveillance.”
The three of them headed near the exit of the building, when Bosco noticed Myolie walking into the building, “Myolie.”
“Oh… hi what are you guys doing here?” Myolie asked.
“Just here for a case, what are you doing here?”
“Um… I uh… work here, I’m late I better get going,” Myolie turned around and quickly walked to the elevator.
The elevator reached the top floor and Myolie stepped out. “Is she in?” Myolie asked the secretary.
“Yes she is,” the secretary stood up and opened the door to Ada Choi’s office.
Ada was sitting on the lounge enjoying a glass of wine and reading a magazine, she saw Myolie standing by the door, “Hey sis…”
