Bernice walks into courtroom 1, bows at the judge and sits down and listens to the conclusion hearing.
Jessica, senior prosecutor stands up and bows to the judge, “Fellow jury members and you honor, all evidence points into the suspects direction, fingerprints, DNA sample even three eye witnesses who saw the suspect abuse the victim. Not only does he have evidence but also the fact that he had a guilty mind makes it more obvious that he is guilty. So I ask the jury here to give what he rightfully deserves.”
The defence lawyer gave his speech; the jury headed back and discussed the verdict. “They jury has decided that the offender is guilty.”
The court hearing had finished, Bernice waited for everyone to leave before approaching Jessica, “Another winning case Sis, this calls for a celebration.”
Jessica packing her files away, “Why are you here, I didn’t call in sick for you to roam around Hong Kong.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Go home and rest or I will tell Charmaine,” Jessica threatened Bernice.
“What about lunch?” Bernice said innocently.
“I can’t, have heeps of paperwork to do, and didn’t I just tell you to go home and rest? Now scoot!” Jessica said pushing Bernice out the door.
Bernice walked along the street for a few hours, then sat at the park reading a magazine. On the corner of her eye she said a familiar face, “It’s the suspect from yesterday, why is he here when he knows we are after him.”
“Kowloon, CID team A,” Linda answered the phone.
“Linda, get madam, it important,” Bernice whispered as she kept an eye on the suspect.
“Madam, line 2,” Linda buzzed the line over to Charmaine.
“Charmaine speaking,”
“Madam, I’m at High Park and I see the suspect from yesterday, it looks like his waiting for someone.”
“Stay there and keep and eye on him, I’ll be there soon. Keep in touch.” Charmaine hung up the phone, “Our target has surfaced, Kenneth come with me, Linda stay here incase we need backup.”
Charmaine and Kenneth sped to the park that Bernice was at but she was no where to be seen, “Kenneth, call her.”
Charmaine’s phone rang and it was Bernice, “Madam, target is at 3o’clock.”
“Stay where you are, Kenneth and I will surround him.” Charmaine and Kenneth walk to opposite ends of the park blocking the two exits but the suspect all of a sudden runs and jumps over the fence, Charmaine who was the closest to him runs after him, “Kenneth, Bernice take the back way and see if we can surround him.”
Charmaine sprints after the suspect across the road dodging a few cars on the way. They suspect runs and turns the corner, Charmaine follows but an on coming car drives by into the gutter which was practically flooded with water and splashed it all over Charmaine. They driver hadn’t even noticed and was talking on the phone with his handsfree, but Charmaine noticed that familiar face, the same man that was drunk and threw up all over her.
“Hey!!” The soaking wet Charmaine screamed out furiously.
Raymond turned his head in Charmaine’s direction but didn’t even take notice of her and kept on driving.
“Come back, you crazy drunk!!” Charmaine shouted at Raymond’s but he had already drove off quite far. “Don’t think you can get away with this, you stupid idiot, you better not let me see you again,” Charmaine continued to shout at Raymond’s car which was no where to be seen anymore.
Little did she notice a crowed of people were watching from behind, she turned around completely drenched with water and so mad, “What are you all looking at?!!” she shouted at the crowed on the street.
Bosco Wong, a newly graduate from the police academy was on duty, he saw the crowed of people and walked over, “Excuse me,” he said scattering the crowed away.
He walked over to Charmaine who was standing there rinsing the water from her clothes and mumbling to herself, “stupid drunk man.”
Bosco tapped Charmaine on the shoulder but she was so angry she turned around, “What!?”
Bosco backed away a little, “Can I see you identification please?”
Charmaine who was mumbling under her breath and searching for her wallet, “I cannot believe this happened again,” she felt around for her wallet, but she was too soaked to feel anything. She took her jacket off and exposed a bit of her gun but enough for Bosco to see.
Without thinking Bosco pulled out his gun and pointed it at Charmaine, “Freeze! Put you hands where I can see them!”
“What are you doing?” Charmaine stood there asking.
Kenneth and Bernice ran towards Charmaine and Bosco, “What’s going on madam?” Kenneth asked.
Bosco heard the work madam and realized what he had just done.
“I don’t know, he asked me for my identification and when I wanted to get it for him he just pointed his gun at me.”
“Put the gun away,” Kenneth suggested.
Bosco put his gun away and looked at Charmaine who handed him her identification as well as her police identification.
“PC 30457,” looking at Bosco’s shoulder, “I’ll remember you.”
Bosco gave a big gulp and could feel that he was about to break into sweat, “thanks madam,” and gave an awkward smile before walking off.
Kenneth and Bernice looked at each other almost reading each other’s mind; Bernice squinted her eyes and moved her head in Charmaine’s direction. Kenneth knew exactly what Bernice wanted him to do but he gave a confused face as if he had no idea what Bernice was on about.
“Madam… errr… why are you all wet again?” Bernice asked quietly to make Charmaine angry again.
Charmaine gave a huge sigh, “Don’t ask.”

*Department of Justice, 5:13pm*
Jessica sat in her office packing her files in her suitcase ready to head home from a long hard day of work.
#Knock knock#
“Come in.”
“Jessica, Mr. Chan wants to discuss a case with you,” Lulu said.
Jessica had finished packing, “you know my rules, tell him I’m not interested right now and come back tomorrow.”
“But he said it’s really important.”
“Rule’s are rules, I don’t work after 5:00pm and look its 5:13pm, go tell Mr. Chan to talk to me about it tomorrow,” Jessica got up and walked out of her room leaving Lulu standing there.
Jessica walked to her car and standing there waiting for her was Moses Chan her superior.
“On time to leave as usual,” Moses said leaning on Jessica’s car.
“If you’re here to talk to me about work, I’ll see you tomorrow,” Jessica opened her car door and threw her suitcase into the backseat.
“Just wanted to let you know that there is a new lawyer joining us tomorrow, his going to helping you out on one of your cases.”
Jessica starts her engine, “That’s too much work talk for my liking, talk to you later,” and drives off with Moses almost falling from leaning against her car.

*Alexander Building, Floor 38, apartment B, 7:48pm*
“Hey bro, I’m home,” Charmaine throwing herself on the couch, “What’s for dinner?”
Ron walking out with a pink apron on, “Good meal today all you favorite dishes,” he puts down the dishes on the dinner table and jumps back in shock after looking at Charmaine.
“Bah…!! Why does it look like you haven’t taken a shower for weeks?”
Charmaine sat up and trying to brush her hair into place, “I was chasing a suspect today, then some stupid idiot drove into a huge puddle of water, and as result I look like this. I better take a shower.”
Ron continued his cooking, making several dishes within a short period of time. Moments later Charmaine came out of the shower, looking much cleaner than when she got home, but before she could even sit down her phone rang.
“Hello,”
Linda was on the other side, “Madam, dead body has been found in the alleyway.”
“I’ll be on my way…” she hangs the phone up and turns to Ron, “Sorry bro, leave me some food,” and rushes through the door the crime scene.
