The alleyway was dark and blocked off thus having only once entrance. Bags of garbage were lying around and the corpse was dumped on the side of the next to some scrap metal.
The police had blocked off the area, Charmaine arrived and presented her CID identification, she walked into the crime scene while putting her identification around her neck.
Bernice finished questioning the witness who discovered the body and walked over to Charmaine.
“How did he find the body?”
“The witness said that he was just throwing rubbish out and saw blood dripping from the bags,” Bernice explained.
“Has the crime scene investigators come yet?” Charmaine asked walking towards the body.
“Yep, a full report will be sent to us tomorrow,” Bernice said trying not to look at the body.
Charmaine looked carefully at the body, having a gut feeling that this isn’t just a random killing, there was something very suspicious and unique about this but she had to wait for the full report.
“Kenneth,” Charmaine called out for him, “check missing person’s file for anyone who has been reported missing for the last 48hours, gather as many that match the characteristics of this body. I want the information on my desk by tomorrow morning.”
“Yes madam.”

*Department of Justice, 9:15am*
#Knock knock#
“Come in,” Jessica said who was deeply in her work.
“Jess, let me introduce you to a new lawyer that is joining us today, a graduate of Cambridge University in London,” Moses stepped aside and behind him walked in Ron.
“Hey, I’m Ron, nice to meet you,” and shook Jessica’s hand.
“Well, I guess I will leave you two to work hard, to fight for justice,” Moses said enthusiastically then walked out closing the door behind him.
Ron looks at Jessica blankly, “Is he always like that?”
“You’ll get use to it, first things first. I have one rule when it comes to working, I don’t talk about work or anything remotely about work when it comes past 5pm unless of course in extreme circumstances, understand?”
“Understand,” Ron replied thinking what kind or weird rule is that.
“Right now I have three cases on my hand, here’s the documents for one case, take a read,” Jessica handed him a huge pile of documents.
Ron struggled to open the door to his office with the massive pile of documents. He placed the documents on his table and reached for his phone and dialed Charmaine’s number.

*Kowloon Police Station, 10:03am*
“Speaking,” Charmaine answered her phone looking at the files Kenneth prepared for her.
Ron on the other side of the phone, “Hey sis, just wanted to tell you I’m at work.”
“How is it?”
“It’s alright though my supervisor is a bit weird, something about not talking to her about work after 5pm,” Ron began to flip through the documents Jessica gave him.
Charmaine hearing this immediately knew that he was talking about Jessica, “Jessica’s like that, she get angry at me when I talk about my work after her hours…” Charmaine had suddenly found a piece of information that was useful, “Hey bro, have to go, good luck see you at home.”
She looked carefully at the information reported from the missing person’s file and the forensic report, the only person who matched the characteristics was Selena Li. Charmaine walked out of her office and the file.
“Kenneth, we’re going to H&L law firm, apparently the victim was last seen there.”

*H&L Law Firm, 11:36am*
Charmaine and Kenneth walked up towards the entrance of the building the law firm was at. The entrance was blocked with two people standing there chatting.
Charmaine and Kenneth were trying to get through but couldn’t, “Sorry, excuse us,” Charmaine said.
Raymond was standing with his back facing Charmaine ignored her and kept on talking, “…yeh, just pass this case onto Steven.”
“Sorry, can we get through?” Charmaine asked again.
Still ignoring Charmaine, “we might have to apply for the date to be changed, I’ll tell Rain to fill an application for it.”
Charmaine could feel that she was beginning to loose her temper, “Can we get through?” she said loudly.
Raymond still didn’t turn around and continued talking, “… and also set up a date to meet with the client…”
Charmaine stepped closer to Raymond and said really loudly, “Move!!”
Raymond finally turned around holding a cup, little did he notice Charmaine was standing really close to him and spilt his coffee all over her. Charmaine stood there motionless looking at her top filled with coffee.
Kenneth stood there with his mouth open thinking “Oh… crap, she’s going to blow.”
Charmaine looked up realizing who it was, “you again!! Why is it always you? Do you have something against me?”
Raymond stood there not really caring that much about he spilt coffee on Charmaine, “do I know you?”
Charmaine could feel her blood boiling up and feel steam coming out of her head, “you don’t remember who I am?”
“Look lady, I don’t know you,” Raymond looks at Charmaine, “why are you standing so close to me? If your trying to hit on me I suggest you don’t bother, I’m not interested.”
Raymond looks at his watch realizing he was running late and just walks off leaving Charmaine standing there burning with fury, he turns back around with a smirk on his face, “you owe me a cup of coffee.”
That comment just tipped Charmaine over the edge, she was ready for a confrontation but luckily Kenneth held her back.
“Madam, maybe we should come back tomorrow,” Kenneth dare to suggest anything at this time.
Charmaine looks down at her stained top and takes a huge breath, “Yeh…”

*Department of Justice, 4:53pm*
“Can I help you?” Lulu asked seeing Ron waiting outside Jessica’s office.
“Yeh, is Jessica in her office, I need to ask her something about a case.”
“Yep, but you have seven minutes before 5o’clock, and you know her rule,” Lulu buzzed the phone to Jessica, “Jessica, Ron’s here to see you.”
Jessica buzzing back, “tell him to come in.”
Ron walks into Jessica’s office and sees her deeply reading her file and making notes.
“What’s up?”
“I was reading through some of the files you gave me and I thought that we can approach the case in a different direction, because I see that there is a difficulty in prosecuting the suspect due to the lack of strong evidence,” Ron showed her the file full of notes and highlighting which he had done earlier.
Jessica looked at her clock and it was two minutes to 5o’clock, she closed her file while Ron continued talking, “so I found some stronger points that might hold the case up I the stronger end but in order to…”
The clock ticks past 5pm and Jessica stands up, “time’s up.”
Ron pauses, “what?” looking at his watch which only just past 5pm.
“The direction your heading is great, I guess I will talk to you about it tomorrow,” Jessica grabs the suitcase and heads out of her office leaving Ron in the room.
Jessica walks out into the car park with Moses leaning on her car again with a very charming pose, “what do you think of my outfit?”
Jessica looks at Moses, “you look the same.”
Moses with a shock face, “can not tell I’m wearing different a different brand of clothing, I was thinking its my new style.”
Jessica unlocks her car and throw her things in the back seat and starts the engine, “I’m sure all the chicks will dig it,” and she drives off once again with Moses still leaning on her car almost making him fall.
