Bernice and Linda were still hugging Charmaine, “You can let go of me now.”
Bernice and Linda let Charmaine go, “Let me look at you hand,” Bernice grabbed Charmaine’s left hand and had a thorough look at it but saw no ring. “I thought you said the officer saw a ring on her finger,” she whispered to Linda.
Linda grabbed Charmaine’s hand off of Bernice, “That’s what the officer told me.”
Charmaine raised her eyebrow trying to get her hand back, “What are you guys doing?”
“Where’s your engagement ring?” Bernice asked.
“What? How did guys know?” Charmaine was really surprised that the news was spread around the station only hours after Raymond proposed.
Bosco and Kenneth stood up and surrounded her with Bernice and Linda, “So how did my good old cousin do it? Didn’t think he had it in him,” Bosco asked in a very excited manner.
“Madam tell us, none of us would have ever expected you to get married,” Kenneth accidentally spilt out.
Charmaine’s anger was lit up inside of her, it had been a long time since she got angry, maybe it was being with Raymond calming her down a lot. But Kenneth just had to spill out the one thing all women don’t like to hear. “What do you mean no of you guys never expected that I will get married?”
“We just don’t see you as the marrying type,” Kenneth spoke too fast once again; he covered his mouth while Bosco hit him over the head with a file.
Steven walked into their headquarters seeing everyone together, “Hey.”
Everyone turned around, “Hey,” Charmaine pushed Kenneth out of the way, “what are you doing here?”
“I just came to get a written report on a case I’m doing, is something going on around here?” Steven asked.
“Madam is getting married,” Kenneth blabbed out once more than quickly covered his mouth again.
Hearing this announcement was Steven’s alert to get rid of Raymond, because he knew after they were married the chances of him getting with Charmaine would be quite impossible.
He shook Charmaine’s hand, “Congratulations, Raymond’s a great guy despite some minor work things he’s a great guy, I’m happy for you.”
Charmaine had no idea what he meant by that by she wasn’t going to question him at the moment, she still needed his friendship to advance in Ada Choi’s case as well as confirm his relationship with her or someone that works for her, “Thanks.”
“Well I better back to the firm, see you later,” Steven left the station and rang Ada immediately. “Hello Ms. Choi, I have some bad news for you.”
“What is it?” Ada asked over the phone.
Steven walked to his car, “I just found out that Charmaine and Raymond are going to get married. Why do you want me to do?”
“Let them get married,” Ada replied casually.
Steven never expected her response to be like that, “Let them get married? I thought you wanted me to get rid of Raymond so I can advance with Charmaine.”
“I think its more fun this way, at the peak of Charmaine’s happiness when she thinks her life is perfect. i will take it all away from her,” Ada said very amused.
“Why are you changing the plan?” Steven asked not really understanding her plan.
“What she took away from me, I will take away from her. What I can’t have anymore, she won’t have either. Since she made the man I love is gone, l will make the man she loves also disappear. I will keep in touch with you, for now just be friends with her, don’t let her suspect you,” Ada hung up the phone.

*Riverside Restaurant, 6:45pm*
Bosco and Jessica walked up the stairs to meet Myolie for dinner, “We can back out now if we want. Its not to late,” Bosco suggested.
“Don’t be like that we’re already here just go have dinner with her,” Jessica pulled Bosco’s hand and walked faster.
Myolie sat by the window waiting to them, “Hi,” she stood up to greet them.
“Hi, sorry we’re late,” Jessica apologised.
“It’s alright,” Myolie looked at Bosco, “Hey Bosco.”
Bosco gave an uncomfortable smile, “Hey, long time no see.”
“I’m really sorry Bosco, about before I didn’t know what got into me. I really hope we can be friends again,” Myolie had a desperate look in her eyes for Bosco’s friendship.
Bosco gave in, “We will always be friends.”
The three of them sat down, “Do you still work at the Grand Jewel’s?” Bosco asked trying to make conversation.
“Work at Grand Jewel’s?” Myolie had totally forgotten that she once told Bosco she worked there, “I don’t work there.”
“You don’t work there? Didn’t I see you at the building once and you said you worked there?” Bosco asked very suspiciously.
Myolie had suddenly remembered the whole incident, “Yeh, what I meant to say is I don’t work there anymore.”
Jessica took a sip of water, “Why not?”
“I um… didn’t think it was the right job for me,” Myolie quickly made something up.
“Finding a job you like is hard,” Jessica was totally understandable to Myolie’s response but Bosco had a feeling she was hiding something he couldn’t tell what but it was just a feeling her had.

*Alexander Building, Floor 38 Apartment B, 9:41pm*
Charmaine walked out of the elevator finding her keys in her bag, she was concentrating so much in finding her keys she bumped into Raymond coming out of his apartment.
“Your back Mrs. Lam,” Raymond greeted her.
“Not Mrs. Lam yet,” she said still trying to find her keys.
Raymond held her by the waist and pulled her close to him, “Can’t I just call you now, you know get use to the whole process.”
“I will approve of it later,” Charmaine finally found her keys and put it in the keyhole. She opened the door and the whole house was dark.
“Why’s it do dark here?” Raymond asked switching the light on.
Ron, Bernice, Bosco and Jessica jumped out from behind the couch, “Surprise!” and threw confetti all over Raymond and Charmaine.
Ron stepped up and gave Raymond a hug, “You finally did it! You’re going to be my brother in law. That’s so great!”
Raymond stood there with confetti all over him confused as to how everyone knew, “How did you guys know?” he looked over at Charmaine.
“I didn’t tell, I found out that everyone knew when I went to the station this morning,” Charmaine said brushing the confetti off of Raymond and herself.
“You guys really like to be all secretive,” Jessica said throwing more confetti on them with Bosco. “Show me the ring,” she grabbed Charmaine’s hand and pulled her over almost making her fall. “I love it, it’s so beautiful. Your husband to be has good taste.”
Charmaine tried freeing her hand, “Ok guys, good night to you all. Thanks for this surprise.”
Bosco winked at Raymond, “Want to spend some alone time with the Mrs?”
“Actually I do,” he pulled on Bosco and Ron’s arm pushing them out the door as Bernice and Jessica followed. Raymond closed the door, “news does travel fast.”
“Did you just kick my brother out?” Charmaine just realising that Ron wasn’t in the apartment where he should be.
Raymond quickly opened the door to see Ron waiting outside by himself, “Sorry, forgot you live here. Where’s everyone else?”
“They said they were tired,” Ron walked back into the apartment, “Come to think of it I’m quite tired myself. Night you two,” and walked to his room.
“I think I might go too, have to go to court tomorrow,” Raymond opened the door still holding Charmaine’s hand and stepped outside, “I miss you already.”
Raymond still didn’t let go, “Go to sleep or you won’t have enough energy for court.”
“But I will miss you too much to fall asleep,” Raymond still hold her hand making a sad face.
“Go to sleep, its getting late. If you don’t I won’t talk to you tomorrow,” Charmaine gave Raymond a little threat.
Raymond let go of her, “Fine.” He turned around and walked into his apartment.
Charmaine shook her head and sighed as she walked in her room and switched her computer on. She took out the Raymond’s USB memory stick from her bag, “Time for some work,” she plugged it into the computer and clicked into the file component.
