Charmaine waited in the emergency room, “What’s going on?” she asked herself. “This is all a blackmail?”
The doctor walked out of the room, Charmaine walked up to him, “How is the patient?”
“His got a bit of internal bleeding and we’re going to take a few x-rays to see if there’s more problems. This man was hurt pretty bad,” the doctor told Charmaine.
“Can I go see him?” she asked.
“Sure.”
Charmaine walked upstairs and into a private room, she opened the door and Steven was lying on the bed bandaged up and his face was all bruised. He saw Charmaine from the corner of his eye, “Charmaine,” he said trying to get up.
Charmaine rushed over to help him, “Don’t move get up. What happened?”
Steven lay back down, “I did something really bad, something I don’t think I can forgive myself but I had no choice. A few weeks back the three men approached me and forced me to plant some fraudulent files into Raymond’s computer, they didn’t tell me why all they said was they didn’t want him to interfere with something. I refused but they said if I don’t do it they would attack me brother, so I had no choice but to help them.”
“Do you know who they were working for?” Charmaine asked.
“I have no idea,” Steven’s voice was becoming very weak.
“I think you need some rest now, I’ll get going,” Charmaine turned around to leave but Steven held onto her hand to stop her.
“Thanks and sorry, I really didn’t mean to do those things to Raymond.”
Charmaine smiled, “Take care.”

*Alexander Building, Floor 38 Apartment B, 12:48am*
Rain had left Raymond’s apartment, straight away he went over to Charmaine’s apartment looking for her. He opened the door and Ron was in the kitchen in his pyjama’s getting drinking a glass of milk, he rubbed his eyes, “Ray? What are you doing here? It’s so late,” he asked yawning.
“Is you sister sleeping?” Raymond asked closing the door behind him.
“I thought she was at your place? Well I guess she’s not home then,” Ron washed up his cup and yawned again, “I’m going to sleep.”
Raymond sat on the couch, “I’m going to wait here for her.”
“Do whatever you like,” Ron walked back to his room.
Raymond was beginning to worry, usually if she had a case to follow late into the night she would tell him. He kept staring at the clock as the time ticked by, the clock hit 2:00am and Charmaine opened the front door.
“What are you doing here? It’s so late,” she yawned.
Raymond jumped up, “Where were you all night? I’ve been waiting for you. Do you know how worried I was?”
Charmaine sat on the couch really tired, “I was at the hospital.”
“What?! Are you hurt? Tell me where you’re hurt, I’ll grab a coat and we’ll go to the hospital,” Raymond looked Charmaine from top to bottom to see if she was hurt or not.
Charmaine laughed and pulled him down next to her, “I’m not hurt. I went with Steven.”
“You went with who? Why would you go to the hospital with him?” he asked very curious.
Charmaine wasn’t sure if she tell Raymond what she observed and what Steven told her or if she should investigate in this matter. She thought about it for a while then responded, “He almost got hit by a car and I saw so I went to the hospital with him.” As soon as Charmaine finished what she said she knew it was a stupid excuse.
Raymond really didn’t like the sound of Charmaine being with Steven even it was saving him from anything, “Don’t be around that guy too much. He tried to plant fraudulent files into my computer remember?”
“I’m going to sleep now, I’ll see you in the morning,” Charmaine kissed Raymond good night and walked into her room. She lay on her bed knowing she should have told the truth about Steven. She really didn’t like lying to Raymond but this could be a serious matter, which needs further investigation more so it could be linked to the Ada Choi case.

*Alexander Building, Floor 37 Apartment D, 7:30am*
Jessica walked out of her room and looked into the kitchen, usually Bosco would be in there cooking breakfast for her but there was no one there today. A disappointed look immediately arose not seeing Bosco, “Maybe I was a bit mean, he was just trying to look out for me.”
She walked into the bathroom and began brushing her teeth, she heard the front door open and shut. Jessica walked out to see who it was; Bosco was standing in the living room.
“Bosco…” she began to say.
Bosco jumped in and interrupted her, “Let me talk first. I just want to say sorry, I know I shouldn’t be too stubborn about these things and if you say there’s nothing wrong with Myolie I will respect that.”
“I’m sorry too, I shouldn’t have been so mean to you. I know you were trying to look out for me but I just want to say there’s nothing wrong with Myolie. Trust me,” Jessica assured Bosco. “So are you going to cook breakfast now?”
Bosco jumped with joy, “Already have,” he went into the kitchen and took out the food, “I just felt like making a more dramatic scene with me not there and walking in. Felt like it was more fun this way.”
Jessica shook her head and laughed, “Yes Bosco it was very fun,” she said sarcastically.

*Near the Grand Jewel’s Building, 10:21am*
Ron and Bosco were shopping around near the Grand Jewel’s Building for some last few things for the wedding, “Has my cousin and your sister done anything for the wedding?” Bosco asked looking at the decorations.
“Well… I think they will attend and they have paid for a lot of the stuff,” Ron sounded like he was defending them.
“Can’t believe you guys are getting married in a few weeks. That’s so exciting!”
Ron picked out a few decorations he wanted for the wedding, “Yeh, I know. I can’t wait either,” he browsed through a few catalogues, “I’ve been wondering this for a while and I keep forgetting to ask, my sister is obviously going to move into your apartment right?”
“Yeh,” Bosco answered.
“Does that mean your going to move out or are you still going to live there?” Ron asked.
Bosco stood back, he also never thought about this problem, “I don’t know. I guess I should move out, I’m sure they wouldn’t me to hang around while there newly married.”
Ron and Bosco left the shop and walked around the streets for a while, Ron looked at his watch, “I better head back to the department of justice. Bye.”
Bosco walked around by himself a bit more; he stopped in front of the Grand Jewel’s building and looked inside. A familiar person had just walked into the building, “Myolie? What’s she doing here?”
Bosco kept looking at what she was doing. She was sitting in the lobby as if she was waiting for someone, the elevator door opened and Ada walked out towards Myolie. Bosco watched as Myolie clung onto Ada’s arm, “Ada Choi?” he kept watching them as they walked outside, he quickly hid behind around the corner where they couldn’t see him.
Myolie and Ada walked towards their car but someone had accidentally bumped into Myolie and was about to walk off without apologising, one of Ada’s assistance pulled the guy back by his shirt, “Say sorry to my sister!” Ada said really fiercely.
“Sorry,” they guy quickly sad than ran off.
Bosco stood back, “Myolie is Ada’s sister?”

*Hospital, 12:38pm*
It was during Charmaine’s lunch break that she went to the hospital to visit Steven as well as see if she could gather more information about who wanted Steven to plant those files.
She knocked on his door and walked in. Steven was sitting up on his bed staring out his window, he tried turning his head but it was still hurt from the brutal beating, “Hey.”
Charmaine rushed over, “Hey, stop moving around, your hurt.” She pulled a chair over and sat next to him, “How you feeling?”
“I’m alright. Did you tell Raymond about me?” Steven asked.
“Not yet, I don’t think I should tell him now,” Charmaine said pouring a glass of water for Steven.
“Do you trust me?” Steven asked out of the blue.
Charmaine wasn’t sure how to answer him because of everything she had observed about him in the past, which was very suspicious, “Um… to tell you the truth, I don’t know.”
“I totally understand if you don’t trust me, I’ve done so many things that may ruin Raymond’s reputation. It’s understandable that you don’t trust me,” Steven said trying to all sympathetic.
“You have acted quite suspiciously in the past, but now that I know why I guess it’s understandable why you did those things,” Charmaine replied.
Steven drank some water out of a straw, he suddenly remembered that Ada wanted Raymond and Charmaine to continue with their wedding and if Raymond found out about the truth another way things might get blown out of proportion, “You have to tell Raymond what happened, if you don’t tell him what really happened and if he somehow finds out. It might affect your relationship, plus you guys are getting married soon. I think you should tell him.”
Charmaine had the same idea in her head, it was killing her inside keeping a secret like this from Raymond, “Ok, I’ll tell him.”
