The hearing was about to start and Bosco was still staring at Jessica not paying too much attention to his surroundings. Charmaine finished her conversation on the phone and walked into courtroom 3 sitting down next to Bosco accidentally bumping into him, which knock him out of his staring of Jessica.
“Sorry,” Charmaine apologised.
“It’s ok.”
Jessica turned around passing a file to one of her assistants and saw Charmaine. Being neighbours and friends she greeted Charmaine a smile and nod, but Bosco who was sitting right next to Charmaine thought Jessica was smiling at him.
The hearing started had started, “Court,” the courtroom clerk announced. This was the first hearing for the case so it was just a basic introductory. The judge looked at several files from defence and prosecution and decided to push back the hearing to another date.
Everyone got up and began to leave, Charmaine looking at her watch, “Bosco, go back to the station first, I’ll be back later.”
Bosco’s eyes were still fixed on Jessica, “sure,” he got up and not really paying attention to where he was walking and knocked into a chair, “Ouch!” he said really loudly. Everyone in the court turned around but Bosco also turned around pretending he was just looking with the crowd and quickly left the building.
Charmaine waited for Jessica to finish packing her document, “you done for the day?”
Jessica and Charmaine exited the courtroom, “I wish, I have another hearing at 2:00pm.”
“How’s Ron doing?” Charmaine asked.
“He’s very bright, but he has only has one bad habit.”
Charmaine hearing this moved very close to Jessica worried her brother would do something wrong, “What is it?”
“He always comes to me when its almost 5:00pm and you know my rule.”
“You and your rule, well got a case to follow, bye.”
Charmaine and Jessica headed in different directions leaving the courthouse. She walked out the main entrance and saw Raymond who was heading towards the entrance; she could tell that Raymond was full of confidence by the way he was walking and the smile on his face looking at his documents.
“Stupid, drunk thinks he’s so great,” Charmaine mumbled to herself and kept walking but landed directly opposite Raymond.
They both came to a stop, Raymond looked up from his files and his smile was immediately wiped off seeing her.
“What are you looking at?” Charmaine said bitterly.
“Nothing that great,” Raymond firing back at her having no idea why she’s being so bitter.
They both stood there wanting to leave, Raymond shifted to his left but Charmaine shifted to the same direction, he shifted back to his right but as a natural reaction Charmaine shifted in the same direction too.
Charmaine looked at Raymond, “What’s your problem?!”
“Look madam, your in my way,” Raymond looking at his watch, “I don’t have time for this. I’ve got important things to do unlike you, having nothing better to do than bugging random people on the street. Shouldn’t you being solving cases, technically I’m one of the many paying your salary.”
Charmaine stood there feeling the anger inside her burning up and it was shown all over her face. Raymond saw the reaction on her face and felt a bit bad for saying that, but before he could apologies someone behind Charmaine bumped quite hard her making her loose balance and pushing Raymond knocking his hearing aid out of his ear.
“Don’t move!!” Raymond said quickly knowing that his hearing aid had just fallen out.
“What? Why?”
“Just don’t move,” Raymond said again.
Raymond seeing his hearing aid bent down to pick it up but Charmaine really didn’t want to look at Raymond’s face anymore walked off not realising that she had just stepped on his hearing aid.
Raymond’s confidence for winning his case just shattered but it was too late to do anything about it, he picked up the remains of his hearing aid and looked at his watch noticing it was almost time for court. The whole hearing did not go as planned, the imbalance in his ears distracted him from a powerful conclusion which resulted in him losing the case.
Raymond walked out of the courthouse disheartened, he had not lost a case for three years now; he thought about it thinking it was all because of Charmaine stepping on his hearing aid. “That women, I’m going to make her pay,” he promised himself.

“Then I’m all ears.”
Ron handed her an invitation, “I’m having a birthday party just wanted to invite you. Have you seen Moses wanted to give him an invitation.”
Jessica took her invitation as well as the one for Moses, “I’ll probably see him in the car park.”
As predicted by Jessica, Moses was indeed in the car park leaning on Jessica’s car again, she walked to her car and unlocked it.
“Can you smell that?” Moses said referring to his new cologne.
Jessica opened her car door and threw her things in the back and switched her engine on, “Yep. Smells like petrol.” Jessica was about to drive off but remembered Ron’s invitation, “here, Ron’s having a birthday party.”
She handed him the invitation and once again drove off with him still leaning on her car.

Bernice opened the letter thinking it would be addressed to the both of them only saw Jessica’s name, “Why wasn’t I invited?”
“You’re not? Well you only met him once,” Jessica replying, not knowing Bernice has met Ron on more than one occasion.
Bernice was saddened by the fact that she wasn’t invited and walked in her room. She looked at the pot plant Ron gave her and started talking to it as if it was Ron, “Why wasn’t I invited? After all I am looking after your plant.”
“Are you talking to your plant?” Jessica asked standing right behind Bernice.
Bernice jumped, “uhh… no. Why would you think that?”
