Steven Ma, one of the top practising lawyers in Hong Kong walked into the firm talking on his phone, “… wait for me at the courthouse I’m just at the office, I’ll be there soon.”
Charmaine and Kenneth were still waiting at the firm after being brushed off by Raymond.
“Mr. Ma, there are two police officers here about a case, Mr. Lam told them to make an appointment but they said it’s important…”
Steven looked at his watch with time to help out the two officers, “I’m Steven Ma, a practising lawyer here anything I can help you with?”
“We are actually here about a murder case, the victim Selena Li was last seen at this firm before being killed, out records tell us that she came to firm quite often,” Charmaine stated.
Steven thought for a while, “Selena Li, she use to be one of my clients but a few months backs I passed all her files to the other practising lawyer in the firm, Florence Kwok.”
“Is Florence Kwok going to be in today?” Kenneth asked.
“She’s actually on holidays, quite sudden actually, right about the same time of Selena Li’s death,” Steven mentioned.
“Do you know if she’s overseas or not?” Charmaine asked thinking it’s a bit too coincidental that Florence being one of the last people seeing Selena would just suddenly go on a holiday.
“I’m not so sure sorry, usually she likes to go overseas,” Steven looked at his watch again.
Charmaine saw Steven looking at his watch for the second time, “Thanks for your help Mr. Ma, sorry for taking such a long time.”
“It’s ok, call me if you need any help. Sorry I really need to leave, bye,” Steven quickly walks to his office to grab some files and leaves.

*Kowloon Police Station, 12:11pm*
Charmaine and Kenneth had returned from the law firm with the new information about the case. Everyone looked really busy; Bosco the newcomer seemed to be getting especially well with Bernice, which was quite distracting for Kenneth when he walked back into the room.
“Bosco, check if a person called Florence Kwok has left the country in the past two weeks, right now she is out only lead in the case,” Charmaine ordered Bosco.
Bosco who was sitting at Bernice’s desk looking at the forensic report, “Yes madam.”
Charmaine walked back into her room then walked back out holding onto three envelopes, “Before I forget these are for you guys,” and handed an envelope each to Bosco, Kenneth and Linda.
“What’s this for?” Linda asked.
“My brother is having a birthday party and he just wanted to invite you guys to come,” Charmaine replied.
Bernice looked at Charmaine, “How come I didn’t get one?”
“I don’t know, Ron only gave these three with their names on it, anyways guys back to work.”
Bernice sat back down at her desk saddened by the fact that she didn’t get an invite.

*Alexander Building, Poolside, 5:45pm*
Ron was sitting on the bench by the pool reading a book about the Chinese artefacts from the Ming Dynasty. Ron saw Bernice returning from work stood up and walked towards her.
“Back from work?” Ron asked.
“Yeh,” Bernice answered lacking a lot of enthusiasm.
“Is something wrong?” Ron could sense something was bothering her.
Bernice not wanting to let Ron know that she was sad by the fact that he didn’t invite her to his party, “I’m just tired.”
“Go home and take a rest then, but before you go here,” and handed her an invitation, “hope you can make it.”
“How come you didn’t tell Charmaine to give it to me with the rest of the others?” Bernice asked really happy to receive the invite.
“Thought it would be best if I gave it to you myself, after all you are looking after my pot plant. Anyway go rest since your tired.”
“I’m not tired,” Bernice said noticing Ron’s book, “Wow, you like ancient artefacts too? So do I but I don’t know much about them.”
Not realising that Bernice was only saying that to stay and talk, Ron’s eyes lit up and opened up his book and began going through the different findings and the history behind each artefact. “You like pot plants and artefacts, I can talk to you for days just about these two things.”

*Alexander Building, Poolside, 6:00pm (Ron’s Party)*
It was finally the day of Ron’s birthday party; Charmaine was carrying two bags of coal for the barbeque. The first to arrive was Bernice and Jessica followed by Moses then Linda and Kenneth.
Everyone was just mingling with each other.
“My friend hasn’t arrived yet, wonder if he knows how to find this place,” Ron said to Charmaine.
“I’m sure he can cope,” Charmaine putting the coal in the barbeque.
Jessica, Bernice and Linda were talking, “It’s getting windy, I’m going back up to get a jacket.”
As Jessica walked back into the building Bosco arrived with a present in his hand, “Happy Birthday,” and handed the present to Ron.
“Thanks,” Ron putting the present down on the table and handing Bosco a drink.
“Hey, madam,” Bosco greeted Charmaine who was still trying to light up the barbeque.
“Hey, Bosco,” Charmaine looked up and her face had black bits on it.
Ron and Bosco began talking; from a distant Bosco saw Jessica walking downstairs with her hair flowing in the wind, not expecting she would be here, “Who’s that?”
Ron looked around, “Oh… that’s my supervisor as well as Bernice’s older sister. They live here.”
Meanwhile Charmaine finally lit up the barbeque, she walked over to wash her hands at the tap by the front gate only to see Raymond walking in.
From the moment they saw each other the tension began to rise, “What are you doing here?!” Charmaine said bitterly.
Raymond remembering his word decided to play it cool, “What’s it to you where I am? I should be asking you the same question. Lady, this is called stalking and as far as I know its illegal,” Raymond had the biggest smirk on his face.
“I’m stalking you? I live here,” Charmaine thinking this is ridicules.
Ron appeared from behind Charmaine, “Hey Raymond, glad you can make it,” and gave him a hug. “So you’ve met my sister Charmaine.”
“So you’re his sister?” Raymond began to laugh hearing this.
Charmaine glaring at him, “What’s so funny?”
“I don’t see the resemblance, your brothers so normal and your so…” Raymond thought for a while and the only word he could come up with was, “…blah.”
Ron not knowing why they were firing these hostile comments at each other but knowing his sister she’d probably loose control of his anger and hit Raymond so he decided to take action to separate them.
“Raymond, go grab a drink and enjoy the party.”
“Oh I will enjoy the party,” walking off with a grin on his face.
“Hey, sis Jessica said she wants to talk to you,” Ron pulls Charmaine to the other side of the pool area where she and Raymond cannot come in contact.
The night went on everyone was enjoying the party. Charmaine, Jessica, Bernice and Linda were sitting by the pool chatting, while Raymond, Ron and Bosco were on the other side.
“I didn’t know you were cousins,” Ron said.
“Yep, Bosco and I grew up together and now live together, we are practically inseparable. Right Bosco?” Raymond nudged Bosco who was staring at Jessica.
“Umm… yep, but we will soon become homeless. The landlord is taking his apartment back,” Bosco told Ron.
Ron remembering that the apartment across his and Charmaine’s apartment is leasing, “Why don’t you move in the apartment across from my place, its up for lease.”
Raymond looked at Charmaine thinking this is the best opportunity to get her back and what better way to be constantly in her way. While Bosco looked over at Jessica thinking the best way to get her attention is live near her.
“We’ll take it,” they both said straight away.
