Charmaine held on tightly to her carry on luggage and waited by the entrance of the customs area. She had fifteen minutes before she had to board the plane to go to the US to study. She glanced at her watch every few seconds hoping that time would slow down. She scanned around the airport but he was no where to be seen. Her heart sank right down to the bottom. She looked at her watch again; she had now had five more minutes before she had to board the plane. Charmaine really didn’t want to leave Hong Kong this way, inside her heart she really wanted him to appear and tell her not to leave.
“All passengers on the Flight SQ354 please be prepared to board the plane in five minutes,” the airport staff announced over the loud speaker.
Charmaine’s heart was racing and looked around the airport hoping that he would come, she looked at her watch again, “If he doesn’t show in five more minutes, I will know that this is his answer,” she said to herself.

*Taxi on the way to the Airport, 9:24pm*
“Could you drive faster please?” Raymond asked the taxi driver. He glanced at his watch hoping that Charmaine hadn’t boarded the plane yet.
“I’m going to fastest I can sir,” the taxi driver replied.
Raymond took a deep breath and hit his head with the palm of his hand, “Please don’t be on the plane Charmaine. Wait for me,” he took out a ring from his pocket and held it tightly in his hand.
The taxi had suddenly slowed down and came to a complete stop, “What’s going on?” Raymond asked hastily.
“I think its just road work in front,” the taxi driver replied.
Raymond looked outside and saw he was quite close to the airport. He paid the taxi driver and jumped off the taxi and began running in the direction of the airport. He ran as fast as his legs could take him, he glanced at his watch, “Come on Raymond run faster.”
The Hong Kong airport was now just opposite him. From a distance he could see Charmaine standing by the entrance of immigration, he had a huge smile knowing he had caught her in time. He was prepared to run across the road when he suddenly heard a loud scream for help. He looked over and saw a little girl standing in the middle of the road with an on coming car driving towards her. Without thinking he ran across the road and pushed the little girl back onto the pathway. The on coming car jammed on its break but the drivers reaction wasn’t fast enough. Raymond didn’t have time to dodge the car and was hit. His body smashed into the car breaking the window then rolled back onto the ground. Blood was everywhere, he held onto the ring he had and turned his head looking at Charmaine from a distance mumbling, “Charmaine… Charmaine…”
The loudspeaker had beginning another announcement, “This is the last call for all passengers on flight SQ354 to USA, please board the plane immediately, thankyou.”
Charmaine glanced at her watch and browsed around the airport once more hoping Raymond would appear but he was no where to be seen. She shook her head and turned around walking into the immigration area ready to board the plane.
She gave her ticket to the airport staff and looked around for the last time, “Hope you enjoy your flight ma’am.”
Charmaine didn’t respond but kept looking around for Raymond’s appearance.
“Is something wrong ma’am?” the airport staff asked.
Charmaine turned back around and took her ticket, she smiled, “No.”
“Hope you enjoy your flight.”
“Thanks,” Charmaine picked up her things and boarded the plane.
Just as she boarded the plane there was another announcement over the loudspeaker, “A seriously accident has occurred outside and all medical staff are required for assistance.”
Charmaine sat in her seat on the plane, she opened her purse and took out a picture of her and Raymond. She ran her fingers down Raymond's picture, a tear dropped down from her eye, “Why didn’t you come?”

*5 Years Later*
*Kingswood Apartments, 39C, 10:11am*
Jessica gave a loud yawn and rolled over grabbing her clock and looked at the time, “10:11am…” she jumped up from her bed, “10:11am! Tavia! Tavia!”
She ran out of her room straight into Tavia’s room, “Tavia!” but she wasn’t in her room. Jessica ran to the bathroom and opened the door, “Tavia! Where is she?” she started brushing her teeth and saw a note left on the mirror. Jessica took the note off and read it.
“Since you didn’t get up in time, I’m going to the airport myself, I wasn’t going to wait for you. Tavia”
Jessica gargled water from her mouth and spat it out, she threw the note in the bin, “You could have woken me up, gees.” She ran back into her room and threw on some clothes then grabbed her keys and phone and left for the airport.

*Hong Kong International Airport, 10:35am*
Tavia waited by the exit and watched people come out of the customs area, she waited for another five minutes and saw a familiar face pushing out a trolley with two huge luggage’s.
“Sis!” she shouted out and ran to towards Charmaine.
Tavia reached Charmaine and gave her a hug almost knocking her over. Charmaine was almost choking with Tavia hugging her so tightly, “Tavia, your hugging me.”
Tavia let go of her, “I’ve missed you, you just left without much notice,” she said helping Charmaine push her trolley.
“I went to study, and I did tell you,” Charmaine replied, she looked around knowing something wast right, “Where’s Dai Ga Jie?”
“She’s probably not going to come,” Tavia said with a hint of bitterness.
From a distance Charmaine could see Jessica running towards them, “There she is…”
Tavia rolled her eyes as Jessica approached them. She gave Charmaine a hug, “Hey.”
Charmaine cleared he throat.
“Sorry, forgot,” and let go of Charmaine. She turned around to Tavia, “Why didn’t you wait for me to come to the airport?” she asked angrily.
“Because you were sleeping,” Tavia answered not looking at her.
“Why didn’t you wake me up then?” Jessica asked again.
“Because that’s not my job, you should be able to set an alarm,” Tavia fired back.
Charmaine stood back having no idea what was going on and why they were being so mean to each other, “Umm… I’m hungry,” she said trying to break up the tension.
Jessica pulled Charmaine along with her walking towards the elevator leaving Tavia behind pushing the trolley, “Where do you want to eat?”
“What’s going on between you two?” Charmaine asked curiously.
“Don’t ask, it’s a long story and its been happening pretty much ever since you left,” Jessica answered as she pressed the button on the elevator.
Charmaine gave Jessica a weird look, “So you and her have been bitter for about five years?”
The elevator door opened and Jessica and Charmaine stepped inside with Tavia following behind them. Tavia glared at Jessica without saying a word.
“So Tavia, hows work?” Charmaine asked.
Tavia turned back to Charmaine and smiled happily, “It’s great, I love my job. I’m in the procedure for a promotion.”
“That’s great,” Charmaine said.
“But someone thinks I won’t get the promotion,” Tavia said giving Jessica another glare.
“I’m just saying with so many people up for promotion you might not get it. I used the word might…” Jessica snipped back.
“You two have some serious issues,” Charmaine blurted out.
Jessica and Tavia turned around and looked at Charmaine, “What?”
Charmaine looked up at them, “What?”

*Kingswood Apartments, 39C, 11:26am*
Charmaine, Jessica and Tavia arrived home. Charmaine stepped inside and everything was completely different, “Did you guys renovate the apartment?”
“She did,” Tavia said pulling Charmaine’s luggage into her room.
“I didn’t touch your room though,” Jessica said walking into the kitchen grabbing a drink, “put your things down and we’ll go out for lunch.”
Charmaine walked into her room, nothing in her room had been changed. It was exactly the same as it was five years ago when Raymond designed it for her as a birthday present, usually she hated people touching her stuff but Raymond was an exception. She sat on her bed and grabbed the photo frame on her bedside table with a picture of her and Raymond on it and stared at it, “Why didn’t you come?”
