“Are you Charmaine?” Raymond asked hoping he could find an answer.
Charmaine could see the desperation in Raymond’s eyes, but she had no choice but to lie, “No.”
Jessica’s face turned to shock as she heard Charmaine deny her identity.
Raymond stepped back, “You’re not Charmaine?”
“I’m not Charmaine,” Charmaine turned to Jessica, “Let’s go.”
Jessica pressed her foot on the accelerator and began to drive. Charmaine held back her tears as she turned her head and watched Raymond’s image getting smaller as she drove further away.
“Why?” Jessica asked.
Charmaine looked down, “I just can’t…”

*Kingswood Apartment, 39C 6:04pm*
Jessica and Charmaine walked into their apartment and found Tavia lying on the couch watching TV, “Hey,” Charmaine shouted out to Tavia.
“Hey Yi Ga Jie,” Tavia looked over at Jessica, “and you…”
“Wouldn’t kill you to show some respect for your older siblings you know,” Jessica said.
Tavia turned back to the TV, “You never know, that might just kill me.”
Jessica gave up, “Going to the cemetery tomorrow, be on time.”
“Speak for yourself,” Tavia turned to Charmaine, “Are you coming with us?”
Charmaine thought about it, “I think I will pass,” she still couldn’t face Linda, “I’ll be in my room.”
Tavia could see there was something wrong with Charmaine, “You know you’re the reason why she’s like this.”
“What?” Jessica crossed her arms, “How is it my fault? What did I do?”
Tavia turned back around to the TV again, “Don’t worry,” she switched the channel, “don’t want to talk to you right now. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
Jessica suddenly remembered the dinner date Charmaine had with Kevin, she knocked on Charmaine’s door and walked inside to see Charmaine lying on her bed starring at the ceiling, “Are you having dinner with Kevin tonight?”
Too many things had occurred today and Charmaine had totally forgotten about the dinner, “Oh, yeh that’s right. I think I might cancel.”
Jessica didn’t want to see Charmaine like this, “You should go.”
“I don’t feel like it,” Charmaine grabbed her blanket and covered herself with it.
Jessica walked over and saw on her bed, she really didn’t want to see Charmaine lock herself up again, “I need you to give him something very important,” she lied.
“Can’t you give it to him yourself?”
“I can’t I have to go out later and since your seeing him later I thought you could just give it to him,” Jessica lied again, “Please…”
“Fine, what do you want me to give him?”
Jessica ran back to her room and grabbed a random document and stuck a post-it saying ‘confidential’ on it. She gave it to Charmaine, “it’s important.”
Jessica walked out of Charmaine’s room and saw Tavia standing near the end of the hallway glaring at her, “She doesn’t want to go, why are you forcing her?”
“I’m not forcing her,” Jessica replied.
“She said she didn’t want to go.”
“Do you want to see her like this?” Jessica took a deep breath, “A lot of things happened today. She just found out her ex-boyfriend was in a car accident and was in a coma for four years, which led to him loosing his memory. She blames herself, she thinks it’s because of her that he ended up like this.”
“So you’re forcing her to go out with someone else to get over him?” Tavia snipped back at Jessica, “what kind of sister are you?”
“I don’t need your approval on what I do and how much do you know your just a kid,” Jessica shouted out at Tavia.
Tavia shook her head and with a swift movement she turned around and walked out the apartment slamming the door behind her.

*On the Street, 6:30pm*
Raymond walked out of the convenient store, “Where is she?” he was still transfixed in his thinking and accidentally bumped into Tavia who was walking in. Raymond looked on the ground and saw that Tavia had dropped her wallet; he bent down and picked it up.
Tavia reached in her pocket and felt around for her wallet, she turned around and saw Raymond holding onto her wallet, “Hey!” she ran grabbed her wallet off of Raymond. She looked up and saw it was Raymond, “Raymond Lam?”
“You know me?” Raymond asked.
“I’ve seen photo’s of you when you went out with my sister and we also met last time in the shopping centre.”
“I dated your sister? Is your sister Charmaine?” Raymond asked wanting to get more answers.
Tavia had suddenly remembered that Raymond had actually lost his memory, “Yes. My sister is Charmaine, you remember her?”
“I had flashes in my head, I remember only little bits from the past but one thing I do know is that I still love her. Can you tell me where I can find her?” Raymond grabbed Tavia’s arm, “Please tell me where she is.”
Tavia could see Raymond’s desperation for an answer and she knew Charmaine still loved him deep inside of her. She opened up her wallet and showed Raymond a picture with Jessica, Charmaine, Linda and herself. She pointed to the middle, “That’s my sister Charmaine.”
Raymond froze; he took the wallet out of Tavia’s hand and starred at Charmaine’s picture for a long time. Tavia didn’t know what to do but to just stand there.
“She told me she wasn’t Charmaine,” Raymond suddenly told Tavia.
“What?”
Raymond gave Tavia’s wallet back to her, “she denied her own identity.” Raymond held back his tears, “I must have hurt her deep.” Raymond turned around and began walking away determined to forget the feelings inside of him.
“Do you still love her?” Tavia shouted out.
Raymond stopped and turned around, “So what if I do? She doesn’t love me anymore.”
Tavia ran up to Raymond, “She does. The only reason why she didn’t want you to know she is Charmaine is because she thinks that she was the reason why you were in a car accident.”
“What?” Raymond asked confused.
“She blames herself for your accident, coma and memory loss. She just can’t face you. I know for a fact that she still loves you though,” Tavia said with confidence.
“How can she think that? Although I can’t remember what exactly happened but I know that I love her and that’s all it matters,” Raymond assured Tavia.
“You should tell her,” Tavia pushed Raymond along, “she’s at home now. Kingswood Apartment.”
A smile appeared on Raymond’s face, although he couldn’t generate all the memories but the feelings he felt inside of her were defiantly real, “Thanks,” and sprinted towards the Kingswood apartment.
Tavia watched Raymond run off into the distance, besides feeling happy to see her sister being with the man she loved she felt more happy to ruin Jessica’s plan of setting Charmaine up with Kevin.

*Outside Kingswood Apartment, 7:05pm*
Raymond arrived on the other side of the street. He saw Charmaine standing on the street outside her building, he had so many things to tell her but he didn’t know where to start. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a deep breath. He stepped onto the road about to go over but saw a Mercedes Benz pull up beside Charmaine.
Kevin stepped out of the car, “Been waiting long?”
Charmaine smiled, “You’re my boss, so I guess it’s in my nature that I have to wait,” she joked.
Kevin opened the car door and let Charmaine in before jumping in the drivers seat. Raymond watched as the car drove off. He suddenly felt a striking pain in his head but that didn’t hurt as much as the pain inside his heart.
