The alarm went off but Moses was still dreading the fact that he had to go to work, mainly because it would mean that he had been seeing Jessica for pretty much everyday. The alarm kept on ringing; he covered his face with a pillow and lay on his bed for a while before finally getting up.
“Maybe I should call in sick,” Moses muttered to himself.
Ron knocked on Moses door, “Are you ready yet? I’m coming in.”
Moses quickly lay back down on his bed and pretended to be asleep.
Ron walked in and shook Moses a little, “Get up or you will be late.”
Moses coughed a little, “I’m sick,” he said putting on a croaky voice.
“Your not sick,” Ron said with confidence, “Your such a bad liar and also that cough is so fake,” he pulled Moses up, “Get up.”
Moses sat up, “Fine, you see right through me.”

*Tower Car Park, 8:41am*
Moses parked his car and sat inside for a long time not really willing to get out. He didn’t know why but he just couldn’t stand another day of constant chattering from Jessica but it wasn’t only because of that, it was also because he had seen her constantly even when he didn’t have to.
He put his head on the steering wheel and closed his eyes. Moses suddenly heard a knocking on his window and looked up to see Jessica starring at him. Though dreading the encounter with her but he knew he had no choice.
Moses got out of the car, “Morning.”
“Morning,” Jessica looked at Moses, “someone looks like they didn’t get enough sleep.”
“Yeh,” Moses replied very unenthusiastically.
Jessica and Moses walked towards the entrance of the building, “Well I’ve had my share of lack of sleep and there are several methods that can make you sleep pretty much instantaneously,” Jessica started to ramble.
Moses could feel his ears about to explode as he was forced to listen to Jessica talk non-stop.
*Tower Conference Room, 9:08am*
“So if you can’t sleep next time use the methods I told you,” Jessica continued to say as she and Moses walked into the conference room.
Moses sat down in his chair with a blank face; he had pretty much already zoned out and wasn’t even listening to what Jessica was saying.
Charmaine walked into the conference room and sat down next to Moses. She looked at him and could tell he wasn’t even listening to what Jessica was saying anymore, “Morning.”
Moses turned to Charmaine and smiled, “Morning.”
Charmaine moved closer to Moses, “How long has she been talking?”
Moses tried talking without moving his mouth, “So long that I lost count.”
Charmaine laughed a little. Jessica saw Charmaine laughing, “What you laughing at?”
Charmaine shook her head, “Nothing.”
Kevin walked into the conference room and sat at the head of the table, “As you all know there is a motor show exhibition and I have the intention for Tower to place where this exhibition is held. It would have good exposure for Tower bringing in more shoppers.” Kevin looked over at Charmaine, “Charmaine since you’re the Marketing Manager I want you to be in charge of all marketing aspects including advertising and the set up for the exhibition, I want a proposal on my desk by tomorrow. Jess and Moses I want you two to talk to the dealerships.”
Kevin stood up, “That’s all for today then.”
Charmaine walked out of the conference room and took out her mobile and dialled Raymond’s number.
“Hey,” Raymond answered on the other side of the phone.
“I can’t have lunch with you today, I have a proposal to do and I think its going to take the whole day, I don’t think I will even have time to eat,” Charmaine said over the phone.
“Ok, don’t work too hard though.”
“I’ll call you tonight,” Charmaine hung up the phone.
*Tower Marketing Department, 12:45pm*
Charmaine was on the computer researching on past successful exhibitions held at Tower as well as other shopping centres.
#Knock Knock#
“Come in,” Charmaine said still concentrating hard.
Kevin walked inside, “So hard working,” he said sitting down on the seat across from her.
“Well this is my first project and if i don't do it well then you'll probably fire me,” Charmaine didn't realise what she had just said.
“i'm not that harsh,” Kevin flipped through the drafting of Charmaine’s proposal and flipped through it briefly, “Pretty good so far.”
“Thanks,” Charmaine’s stomach began rumbling.
Kevin heard and laughed a little, “Hungry?”
“Yeh, but I want to finish this off,” Charmaine clenched her stomach to try and make her stomach stop rumbling.
Kevin stood up, “Come, we’ll get some lunch.”
Charmaine kept flipping through the documents, “But I still have a lot to do.”
Kevin took the documents out of Charmaine’s hand, “If you don’t eat then I won’t read your proposal when you give it to me.”
Charmaine stood up, “Fine, you’re the boss.”
Charmaine opened her office door and to her surprise Raymond was standing right in front of her holding two bags of food in his hand, he held them up, “Hungry?”
A huge smile appeared on Charmaine’s face, she didn’t expect Raymond to appear, “What are you doing here?”
“I thought you might hungry.”
Kevin stood beside Charmaine, “That’s one great boyfriend you have there, I guess I won’t interfere with you two then,” Kevin walked out towards the lift. He looked back and saw Charmaine and Raymond happily chatting and eating together. He found that he was more angry than anything else, a person of his status loosing out to Raymond, this thought was absolutely absurd to him and he was sure he was going to make things change.
Raymond looked at Charmaine eating and laughed, he handed her a tissue, “You look like you haven’t eaten for days.”
Charmaine almost chocked on her food, she took a sip of water, “Seeing you just opened up my appetite. Are you doing anything this Sunday?”
Raymond took a bite of his sandwich, “I think I’m working the whole day, why?”
“Can you get out of it?”
“I don’t think so. We are short on people these days. Why? What’s on Saturday?” Raymond asked.
Charmaine was disappointed but gave Raymond a smile, “Nothing, just asking.”
Raymond stood up, “I’ll be right back,” Raymond walked outside into the hallway and took out his mobile, “Hey Tavia it’s Raymond.”
“What’s up?” Tavia asked on the other side of the phone.
“What’s this Saturday?”
Tavia thought about it for a while, “Nothing is this Saturday.”
“Really? Your sister asked if I was doing anything this Sunday and I told her I was working. She looked rather disappointed,” Raymond explained.
Tavia thought about it more then suddenly remembered, “How can I forget? I’m so stupid, it’s her birthday this Sunday.”
“Ok, thanks. Don’t tell her I called you about this,” Raymond hung up the phone and walked back inside Charmaine’s office.
*Tower General Manager’s Office, 1:14pm*
Moses sat in Jessica’s room both working on the contract for the dealerships. For some reason Moses found it particularly strange that Jessica wasn’t talking but concentrating hard on the draft for the contract, he actually found himself not really use to it.
Moses phone suddenly rang, “Hello? Yeh that will be great.”
Jessica looked up at Moses who was talking on the phone. Jessica hated being disrupted during work, she cleared her throat loudly hoping Moses would get the hint to either talk outside or hang up.
“No, I think it should be alright,” Moses continued talking not understanding Jessica’s hint.
Jessica tried to concentrate on her draft but she just couldn’t stand Moses talking, “Can you either talk outside or not talk at all? Your talking is distracting me too much,” she said out loud.
Moses sat there in shock to what she just said, “I’ll call you later,” and hung up the phone.
“Thank you,” Jessica continued writing her draft.
Moses got up and walked out of the office to the lunchroom, he stood there pouring a cup of water not even realising it had already over spilled, “Am I dreaming? Or did she just tell me I was distracting her by talking?”
