Moses alarm rang and as usual he dreaded going to work. He covered his face with a pillow trying to drown the noise from the alarm away. Ron walked pass his room and heard his alarm ringing non-stop, he knocked on the door and walked in seeing Moses covering his face with his pillow.
Ron pulled the pillow off of Moses, “Get up!!” he threw the pillow back at Moses then opened all the curtains in his room.
The bright lights shone in Moses eyes, “Ahh…” he yelled as he covered his eyes with his hands.
Ron pulled him up, “Everyday! Why do you never want to get up for work?”
Moses didn’t want to answer his question; he rolled out of bed and stumbled to the bathroom.

*Tower Car Park, 8:30am*
Moses locked his car and headed towards the elevator. He pressed the button and waited. Coming from behind him, Moses heard footsteps slowly getting louder and down, he turned his head slightly and saw Jessica walking in his direction, “Oh no…”
Jessica stood next to him and smiled. Moses smiled back but he thought it was weird that she didn’t just start talking. The elevator door opened, Jessica walked inside followed by Moses. The elevator was filled with silence, although Moses felt relieved but he also found it strange that she wasn’t chattering away like she always does.
Jessica took out her phone but accidentally dropped the files she was holding, Moses bent down and picked it up, “Here,” he handed it too her.
“Thanks,” Jessica said with a croaky voice, which was so soft you could barely hear her.
“Are you alright?” Moses asked slightly concerned.
Jessica pointed to her throat and mouthed, “I’m sick and I can’t talk.”
Moses held in the grin, which was about to appear on his face, “Hope you get better,” he said but in his mind he was thinking that her not being able to speak was such a relief.
*Tower Assistant General Manager’s Office, 12:14pm*
Moses stretched his arms and leaned back on his chair. His stomach started rumbling. He patted his stomach and looked at the time, “lunch time.” He jumped up on his feet and headed downstairs to the shopping centre. He wondered around a little and walked passed a chemist. He stopped and pondered a little, he walked inside to the counter.
“How may I help you?” the pharmacist asked.
“Do you have anything that can clear up a soar throat? I have a friend and she’s lost her voice,” Moses asked the pharmacist.
The pharmacist browsed the shelf and picked out an instant lemon drink, “This sooths the throat doesn’t make it soar.”
Moses took out his wallet, “I’ll get it,” he paid the pharmacist and went back upstairs to the office.
*Tower Office Lunchroom, 12:30pm*
Moses read the directions on the packet carefully, he emptied the sachet mix in a mug then pour boiling hot water in the mug and mixed it together. He walked outside towards Jessica’s room. Moses was about to knock on the door but stopped, “What am I doing?” he looked at the mug, “why am I trying to make her talk again?”
Jessica opened the door to her room. Moses stood there with the mug in his hand he didn’t know what to do and gave the mug to her, “Here.,” he handed he mug and quickly left the office.
Jessica had no clue what Moses was up to, she looked at the hot drink and could smell the lemon flavour, she had a sip of the drink and immediately soothed her throat a little.
*Outside of Tower, 4:21pm*
Raymond waited outside for Charmaine to finish work, he still hadn’t told her about how he ended up in hospital the night of her party. He couldn’t bare watching her blame herself for everything that goes wrong with him.
Charmaine walked out of Tower and saw Raymond standing with his back facing her, she crept up behind him and tickled him from behind.
“Hey,” Raymond laughed out loud as he took her hand and hugged her, “how was work?”
Charmaine hugged him back, “Same as usual,” she held onto Raymond’s hand and linked onto his arm, “Where do you want to go?”
Raymond thought about it for a while, a mischievous grin appeared on his face, “Come with me,” he pulled on Charmaine’s arm and led her into Tower.
“Where are we going?” Charmaine asked as she was being pulled by Raymond.
“You’ll know when we get there.” Raymond pulled her to the top floor and stopped in front of a bridal shop, “Here we are.”
Charmaine smiled and blushed slightly, “What are we doing here?”
“Well, we’re getting married so the logical thing to do is try on some wedding gowns,” Raymond replied as he pulled Charmaine in.
Raymond and Charmaine both browsed the large range of wedding dresses. Raymond found one that he thought was perfect on Charmaine, he pulled it out and placed it in front of her, “I like this one.”
Charmaine took the dress and looked in the mirror. Raymond stood behind her and put his hands on her shoulders, “Do you like it?”
Charmaine smiled and nodded her head.
“Try it on,” Raymond suggested.
“What about you?” Charmaine asked as she walked towards the changing rooms.
“I’ll find a tux,” Raymond browsed around.
The sales assistant approached him, “Can I help you sir?”
“My fiancé is trying out a wedding dress and I’m looking for a tux,” Raymond picked one out.
“Congratulations, we currently have a few promotion packages if your interested I can show you and your fiancé when she comes out,” the sales person said.
“Sure,” Raymond got changed into his tux and waited outside for Charmaine.
A few minutes later Charmaine walked out of the changing rooms. Raymond’s jaw dropped opened as he saw Charmaine wearing the wedding dress. He stood up and walked up to her.
“You’re so… beautiful, words cannot describe,” Raymond complemented.
Charmaine’s heart was filled with happiness hearing these words from Raymond, “Thanks and you look handsome yourself.”
Raymond straightened up his jacket, “I do?” he took his phone out and stood next to Charmaine. Without her noticing he stuck their heads together and took a picture.
Charmaine only realised by the flash and shutter sound going off, “Let me look.”
Raymond showed her the picture while he laughed.
“That picture looks so bad,” Charmaine slapped Raymond on the arm, “delete the picture.”
“I think it’s cute.”
Charmaine put an angry face and slapped his arm again, “Delete the photo.”
“Fine,” Raymond pretended to delete the photo but in fact he deleted another photo, “done.”
Charmaine raised her eyebrows with suspicion, “let me have a look,” she asked trying to get Raymond’s phone.
“I already deleted it,” Raymond laughed trying to hide his phone. His phone suddenly rang, he picked it up, “Hello?”
“Is this Raymond Lam?”
“Yes I am,” Raymond replied.
“I’m a nurse at the hospital, Dr. Ching wants you to come to the hospital to see him immediately, your results have arrived.”
Raymond hung up the phone, he didn’t want Charmaine to worry, “I need to pick something up for my supervisor. Why don’t you shop around or go home first and I’ll call you when I’m done.”
“OK.”
Raymond got changed, “I’ll see you later then,” and kissed Charmaine goodbye.

*Hospital, 5:24pm*
Raymond sat in the doctors room and waited. Dr. Ching walked into the room with the results and films in his hands, he sat down on his chair across from Raymond. The look on his face was somewhat worrying.
“Is there something wrong?” Raymond asked concerned by Dr. Ching’s look.
Dr. Ching took a deep breath, “The CT scans we took for you showed that you have a brain tumour.”
