Raymond shook his head, “I have a what in my brain?” he asked hoping he heard wrong.
Dr. Ching took out the films and showed Raymond, “The CT scans showed up that you have a brain tumor.”
Raymond sunk back on his chair, “But how? It must be some kind of mistake, thats not my films,” he said quite intensely.
“I’m sorry Mr. Lam but this is what has shown up on the scans.”
“This isn’t right,” Raymond banged his fist on the table, “This isn’t right!”
“Mr. Lam according to your medical history, you had a car accident five years ago which lead to a come for four years right?” Dr. Ching read from the documents sent to him from the hospital Raymond was at during his coma.
“Yes.”
Dr. Ching flipped through the medical files, “According to this, before your car accident, test results showed that you also had a tumor in your brain but fortunately it was removed when you were under surgery after the accident.”
Raymond was confused, the doctor never told him anything about a tumor after he’d waken up from the coma, “I didn’t know.”
“But it is believed that the tumor was not completely removed and has now grown in size which has a very high chance of death. You can undergo surgery again but because of where the tumor is situated the success rate of the brain surgery is only 20% and fatality during the operation is very high,” Dr. Ching explained.
These words came to shock for Raymond, “How long do I have?”
“If you don’t do the operation and take the medication I give you, you can live for another six months, but because the brain is very complex it is also possible that fatality may occur at any time.” Dr. Ching took out some prescribed medication and gave it to Raymond, “for now I want you to take these.”

*In the park, 6:31pm*
Raymond sat in the park, the words from the doctor were repeating over and over in his head. He put his head down and closed his eyes, “How can this be happening?”
His phone started ringing, the looked on the display and saw it was Charmaine ringing. He was about to pick up but hesitated for a while but eventually pick up, “Hello?”
“Ray, are you done with what your doing?” Charmaine asked on the other side.
“Yep, I’ll see you later.”
“See you later then,” Charmaine blew a kiss into the phone, “bye.”
Raymond hung up the phone, a tear dropped from his eye. The only thing he was worried about was Charmaine. He couldn’t bare to see her suffer again another lost; he didn’t want to see her blame herself for everything for what has happened to him. The more he thought about it the more tears flowed from his eyes, “Why!!!” he shouted out loud, “Why!!!”

*Kingswood Apartment, 7:06pm*
Jessica walked out of her room and saw Charmaine preparing dinner, “You cooking dinner? Has the world suddenly gone flat or something?”
Charmaine set up the table, “I cook, just not for you.”
“Ah… than it’s for your husband to be then. The power of love,” Jessica said while she sat on the couch, she looked up at the dinner table and saw only two sets of plates and cutlery, “Where’s my stuff?”
“Oh yeh, forget to tell you that you have to eat out tonight.”
Jessica face was shocked, “I’m offended that you’re choosing your boyfriend over me.”
Charmaine laughed, “It’s a tough life.”
“Just as well, I’m meeting Ron for dinner,” Jessica said switching the TV on.
At this time Tavia had just walked in the door and heard the Jessica was having dinner with Ron, “I’m coming too!”
Jessica turned to Tavia, “That’s a first, you having dinner with me but your not coming.”
Tavia shut the door behind her, “I’m going to go whether you like it or not, you can’t stop me,” Tavia walked back into her room to put her things down.
Jessica saw the moment and grabbed her bag and ran out the door. Tavia heard the front door close and quickly ran outside of her room.
Charmaine who was still setting up the table, “She’s just left.”
Tavia grabbed her bag and ran out the door after Jessica.
Charmaine clapped her hands and was very impressed with her cooking; she glanced at her watch wondering why Raymond hadn’t arrived yet.
Raymond had been outside Charmaine’s apartment for quite sometime, he just stood at her front door and stared at the door. He took a deep breath and pressed on the doorbell.
Charmaine opened the door and pulled Raymond inside, “Did you get everything done?”
Raymond nodded his head and sat down at the dinner table.
Charmaine went into the kitchen and brought out the food she’d made and placed it in front of Raymond, “Especially made for you.”
Raymond gave a forced smile and started eating, he suddenly stopped, “Charmaine…”
Charmaine looked up at him, “Hmm?”
Raymond couldn’t bring himself to do it, “This is really good, I think I might get a second serve.”
Charmaine giggled a little, “You haven’t even finished your first serve.”
Raymond smiled and continued eating. After dinner the both of them sat on the couch, Charmaine sat in Raymond’s arms, she held his hand, “Don’t laugh, but I’ve been dreaming of getting married to you ever since we started going out. You complete me.”
The words coming Charmaine’s mouth were deeply hurting Raymond inside, he hugged her tightly, “You complete me too.” He decided to give himself one more day with Charmaine before doing what he thought was right for the both of them.

*Phoenix Apartment, 8:46pm*
“I don’t even know why you’re here with me,” Jessica asked Tavia as she knocked on the door.
Tavia’s main purpose was to try and stop Jessica and Ron from interacting too much because she felt like Jessica was invading her work world, “Their my friends too you know.”
“Oh really? I don’t recall Ron telling me he is friends with you.”
Tavia really just couldn’t stand the fact that Jessica was such great friends with Ron that no one else could be friends with him, “I’m friends with Moses.”
Ron opened the door, immediately Jessica and Tavia stopped arguing, “Heard a lot or arguing outside, were you two arguing.”
“No,” Jessica and Tavia argued at the same time.
Jessica and Tavia walked inside. Moses was sitting on the couch reading a book; he stood up seeing Jessica walk in, “Hi, umm… is your throat better?”
“The drink you got me is like a miracle worker, my voice is back.”
Ron was in his room, “Jess you have to come and look what I bought.”
Jessica walked into Ron’s room leaving Moses and Tavia outside. Tavia sat beside Moses, “I really can’t believe that these two are dating.”
“Are we sure that they are though?” Moses asked.
“I don’t know. They both haven’t said anything about it.”
Ron and Jessica walked out of the room, “I love it, thanks. Our taste is getting closer by the second,” Jessica said showing Ron the watch on her wrist.
Ron put up his wrist, “It looks great doesn’t it? It came in a set, so one for me and one for you. I knew you would like it.”
Moses and Tavia had no idea what they were talking about but they both didn’t know whether it was jealously or annoyance that these two were always together.
Jessica and Ron saw both Tavia and Moses on the couch, “Do you think that my brother and you sister match?” Ron whispered in Jessica’s ear.
Jessica laughed a little, “Are you planning to set them up?”
“That’s an idea,” Ron suddenly putting on a serious face.
Moses and Tavia both sat on the couch and watched Jessica and Ron walk towards them. Their eyes bulged wide-open seeing Ron and Jessica wearing matching watches. This just confirmed their thought about Ron and Jessica going out.

As many of you guessed correct.. Raymond had a brain tumor years before and thats why he broke up with her.. *sigh* is history going to repeat itself?? anywho.. thanks for reading..
