“Sit Attention.”
Everyone sat up right and sat quietly listening to the Inspector give a short briefing, “As many of you may know that we have a new officer joining us today.”
Ron walked in the door with a clean uniform on.
“This is the new Potential Inspector, Ron. Do you want to introduce yourself?”
Ron stepped forward, “Well not much to say I guess but hope we can all cooperate to the best of out ability.”
After the briefing was over everyone began heading outside. Selena turned around to Tavia, “He is pretty good looking, do you think he has a girlfriend?”
Tavia looked at him then looked at Selena, “Stop staring at him.”

*On the Street, 2:48pm*
Tavia and Selena began patrolling the streets, “I heard from some of the other officers that our new PI Ron is really strict and if he doesn’t like you he will do everything he can to make you have a hard time.”
Tavia looked around the street, “Where did you hear that from?”
“Someone told me,” Selena said looking a bit suspicious.
Tavia gave her a weird look, “Right… so your telling me he is going to get revenge on me because I spilt coffee on him that he will gain revenge on me because he won’t like me?”
“Exactly, but don’t worry I will seduce him and then he won’t give a hard time because you’re my friend,” Selena said very proud.
Tavia shook her head and laughed a little.
“Erhm,” Ron was behind them and cleared his throat walking straight pass them.
“Great, now he knows we were talking about him,” Selena said.
“Just keep on working,” Tavia said watching Ron walk patrol by himself.

*Kingswood Apartment, 39C, 7:45pm*
Charmaine lay on her bed in the dark staring at the ceiling filled with glowing stars. She smiled to herself while looking at the glowing stars sparkling in her eyes.

Charmaine walked into her room and saw Raymond standing on a chair sticking stuff on her ceiling.
She walked up next to him and stared at him for a while, “What are you doing?”
Raymond wasn’t expecting Charmaine to be there and was so surprised he almost fell off the chair, “I thought you won’t be home till later,” he said while catching back his balance and continuing sticking things on her ceiling.
“What are you doing to my ceiling?” Charmaine asked quite angry at Raymond.
Raymond got down from his chair and held onto Charmaine’s hand pulling her outside of her room, “Wait and see then you shall find out.”
Before Charmaine could say anything else Raymond ran back to her room closing the door and locking it. Charmaine knocked on her door, “Ray, seriously, what are you doing to my room?”
Charmaine waited outside for another five minutes and Raymond opened the door. He walked behind and put his hands over her eyes.
“What are you doing?” Charmaine asked still mad at him for standing her up.
“Shh… not talking allowed,” Raymond led Charmaine into her room and shut the door behind them then took his hands away from her eyes.
Charmaine looked around the dark room not really knowing why the lights were switched off. She looked up at the ceiling and a smile appeared on her face seeing a sky full of stars but Charmaine tried really hard to contain her smile.
“This isn’t going to make up for you standing me up the other night. Plus I thought you were a top interior designer, these fake stars aren’t exactly a great design,” she said to Raymond.
Raymond sat on her bed and pulled Charmaine next to her, “well since stars don’t work, how about this?” Raymond pulled out a small case from his pocket and opened it up, “Will this make you any less angry at me?”
Charmaine saw the ring in the case and gave a little smile but held it in again, “You think I’m going to just forgive you because you bought me a ring?”
Raymond took the ring out of the case and took Charmaine’s hand placing the ring on her finger, “Not just any ring, this is what I would call an engagement ring. Something I put on your finger now and ask ‘will you marry me?’ Then you will say, ‘of course I will marry you Ray. You’re the best,’” Raymond said laughing.
“Someone is very modest?” Charmaine asked still holding her happiness in.
Raymond raised an eyebrow and gave her a look, “I’m just saying what your thinking.”
“I never said I would marry you either.”
Raymond held up Charmaine’s hand, “Too late, you’re already wearing my ring so now you don’t have a choice.”
“But you forced the ring onto…” Charmaine continued saying.
Raymond suddenly leaned forward and kissed her passionately on the lips stopping her from talking. He wrapped his arms around her holding her tightly, Charmaine gave in and kissed him back. Raymond backed away a little and looked at Charmaine while still hold her in his arms with a very serious look on his face, “I’m being serious. Marry me?”
Charmaine put her arms around his neck and smiled then nodded her head. Raymond’s face lit up with happiness, he held her closer kissing her again.
#End of Flashback#
Charmaine kept smiling to herself remembering the happy days she had with Raymond but her smile was immediately wiped off as she thought about her encounter with him today. She took out her purse and looked inside at the same picture she had five years ago, “You said you’ll forget about him Charmaine, why are you still thinking about him? Clearly he has forgotten you,” Charmaine said to herself.
Jessica had suddenly walked into her room without knocking, Charmaine quickly threw her purse back in her bag and sat up. Jessica switched the light on, “Why are you sitting in the dark?”
“I don’t know,” Charmaine said blankly.
Jessica sat beside her on her bed, “I’m here to tell you what happened between me and Tavia… well it all started five years ago…”
Charmaine could tell this was going to go on forever, “Didn’t I tell you I don’t care what happened?”
“But I thought you asked me earlier?” Jessica asked surprised
“No I didn’t,” Charmaine replied.
“Fair enough,” Jessica got up and was about to walk out but suddenly remembered she had something to tell Charmaine, “I forgot to tell you that you have an interview tomorrow.”
“What interview?” Charmaine asked confused about what Jessica was talking about.
“You asked about job openings today remember, so I got you an interview.”
Charmaine was surprised at the speed that Jessica worked at, “I asked you like a few hours ago and already I have an interview. Plus I was just asking you I didn’t really want get a job there.”
“First of all you’re talking to me Jessica, your big sister, the general manager of Tower Shopping Centre and second of all its too late you have to go on this interview,” Jessica insisted.
Charmaine sighed, “Fine, but I’m only doing this because you’re my biological older sister.”

*Mong Kok Police Station, 9:33pm*
Tavia and Selena had finished changing into their normal clothes and were walking towards the exit of the station, “I wonder what that Ron guy is going to do to you tomorrow,” Selena asked very curiously.
“Are you asking me? Well since you said he likes revenge he will probably lure me to a dark alley way then hit me over the head to knock me out and steal my money,” Tavia said sarcastically.
“Erhm…” Ron cleared his throat again.
Tavia and Selena turned around slowly seeing Ron behind them. Ron picked up his pace and walked closer to them, he reached in front of them and gave Tavia a smile and walked into the cafeteria.
“The death smile,” Selena said putting on a shaky voice, “you going to be in big trouble tomorrow.”
“You really think so?” Tavia asked as he watched Ron disappear.
Ron walked inside the cafeteria, “Hi can I get a… erhm… hot lemon water with honey please… erhm…”
“Coming up,” the guy at the counter said, “sore throat?”
“Yeh, don’t know why but the whole day my throat has been terribly sore…erhm…” Ron said clearing his throat again.
