Raymond wanted to run in and ask Jessica but he knew she wasn’t right person to ask. Without thinking he turned around and ran to the elevator, he pressed the button and waited. So many different thoughts were going through his head, “Charmaine… Charmaine…” he kept muttering.
The elevator was taking too long, Raymond ran down the fire escape and out of the shopping centre towards the Kingswood Apartment.

*Kingswood Apartment, 11:30pm*
Raymond kept ringing the doorbell then started banging on the door loudly, “Tavia! Tavia!”
Tavia opened the door; he eyes were red from crying, “What are you doing here?”
“Has Charmaine been kidnapped?” Raymond asked as he could feel himself about to collapse.
Tavia didn’t know whether if she should tell him or not, “I thought you didn’t care about her anymore?”
Raymond didn’t care about anything anymore, he only wanted to know about what happened to Charmaine, “I do care about her. I care about her a lot, more than you can imagine.”
Tavia started crying, “Yi Ga Jie has been kidnapped.”
Raymond’s eyes were filling up with tears, his head started hurting again. He clenched his head, “Ah!!”
Tavia had no idea what was happening to Raymond, “Are you alright?”
Raymond grabbed his medication and took a pill. A few minutes later the pain had gone.
“What happened to you?” Tavia asked.
Raymond still didn’t want to tell her, “Nothing, just tell me what I can do to get Charmaine safe?”
“I’m not giving you any details till you tell me what’s wrong with you,” Tavia insisted.
Raymond didn’t care anymore, all he wanted to do was save Charmaine, “I have a brain tumour. I broke up with her because I have a brain tumour. I’m going to die.”
This had never crossed Tavia’s mind, “You have a brain tumour? Your going to die? That’s the reason why you broke up with her?”
“Yes, that’s why I broke up with her five years ago and that’s why I broke up with her again,” although Raymond knew by telling Tavia might mean that Charmaine would know but at this point it didn’t matter because Charmaine might not even get to see daylight again, “I want to know what you guys have planned, I want to help.”
“They want money, Dai Ga Jie and Moses is preparing the money and they are going to bring it up to China. I won’t be able to go with them because they clearly stated not to get the police involved.”
Although Raymond felt like breaking down but at this moment he knew he had to stay focused, “We can follow them up there and if anything happens at least they will have back up.”
Tavia thought about it, “We’ll do that.”

*China Abandoned House, 2:06am*
Kevin and Charmaine had been stuck in abandoned house for almost a week. Kevin was asleep on the floor while Charmaine wasn’t able to sleep, she looked over at him and thought about what Kevin said to her earlier, she kept thinking whether she should take a chance and start fresh.
The door to the room slowly opened. One of the guys walked inside, he looked at Charmaine and smiled creepily. He walked up to her and grabbed her arm pulling her up. She tried to yell out to Kevin but the guy used his hand to cover her mouth. She tried to break free but again he was just too strong, she had only one other option and bit his hand hard.
“Ah!!” the guy yelled out loud waking Kevin up.
Kevin awoke straight away. The guy had a fierce look on his face and slap Charmaine on the face making her fall to the ground. He was furious, he walked up to Charmaine again who was lying on the ground, Kevin saw and although he was tied up he managed to stand up. He charged in the guys direction knocking him into the wall.
The guy hit his head hard on the wall making his forehead bleed a little. He felt the blood pouring out of him, “You’re going to pay for this,” he threatened Kevin.
He walked towards Kevin and punched him hard across the face making him fall to the ground next to Charmaine.
“Kevin!” Charmaine yelled out.
The picked Kevin up off the ground and held onto him punching him across the face again. He grabbed his shoulders and kneed him twice in the stomach.
Charmaine was in tears seeing the guy beat Kevin up, “Leave him alone! Stop!”
The guy didn’t stop but continued. One of the other guys came into the room and saw what was going on, “That’s enough!”
The guy pushed Kevin back onto the ground next to Charmaine and laughed while he left the room.
Kevin could feel blood oozing out of his mouth, he moved closer to Charmaine, “Are you alright?”
Charmaine was in tears seeing Kevin like this to save her, “I should be asking you that.”
Kevin smiled a little, “I said that I will protect you.”
Charmaine was now truly touched by his words and actions; she never imagined that Kevin would do so much for her.
Kevin could still feel the pain from his beatings, “I know this may be an awkward time to ask you again but will you go out with me?”
Charmaine didn’t have a reaction for a long time; she stared at him and thought about everything he did for her. Tears were still running from her eyes, she smiled and nodded her head.
Kevin looked Charmaine in the eyes and smiled. The both of them sat next to each other still trying to free their hands from the rope. From the corner to Kevin’s eyes he saw a sharp piece of metal hanging out of a chair in the room. He shifted closer to the chair and began rubbing the rope against the metal.

*Hong Kong International Airport, 9:06am*
Jessica and Moses were at the airport waiting for the kidnappers to give details of which flight to take. Jessica hadn’t slept in days, she was tired but she had to hang on.
“I’m scared Moses,” Jessica’s voice was slightly shaky.
Moses held onto Jessica’s hand, “Everything will be ok.”
Raymond and Tavia had followed Jessica and Moses to the airport; they hid behind a signed and watched them from a distance.
Jessica’s mobile started ringing, “Hello?”
The distorted voice spoke over the phone, “I want you yo buy the ticket the Beijing that departs at 10:45am, I will contact you when you land.”
“I want to know if their ok…” Jessica yelled into the phone but they had already hung up the phone.
Immediately Jessica and Moses ran up to the counter and bought two tickets to Beijing then checked in straight away.
Raymond and Tavia waited until Jessica and Moses went towards the gates, “Ok,” Raymond said as they both went up to the counter.
“We don’t know where they’re going,” Tavia whispered.
“Hi, which flights do you have going to China today?” Raymond asked the airport ground staff.
“Hold on,” she checked the schedule, “We have one flying to Beijing at 10:45am then another one at 1:00pm then another one at 3:30pm.”
Tavia thought about it for a while, she saw Jessica and Moses rushing towards the check-in, “We’ll take two tickets to 10:45am, thanks.”
The both of them waited in line to check-in. Tavia felt a tap on her shoulder, she turned around and saw Myolie standing behind her, “Hey! Fancy seeing you here, I just got back from Paris, where are you off too?”
Raymond and Tavia looked at each other, “Just going up to Beijing,” Tavia said trying to sound as casual as she could.
“Great I’ll come too,” Myolie said.
“No!” Tavia and Raymond yelled at the same time.
Myolie had a suspicious look to her face, “Why can’t I come?”
Tavia’s mind was going through so much thinking about if Charmaine was safe or not that she’d forgotten she wasn’t meant to tell Myolie, “My sister and your brother have been kidnapped,” Tavia blurted out.
Myolie stood back in shock, “I want to go with you guys and help out,” she insisted.
Raymond and Tavia checked-in, Tavia turned to Myolie, “You can’t, you have to stay here. Find Ron if you have any problems.”
“Let’s go,” Raymond said pulling Tavia. The both of them ran as fast as they could to the gate for boarding.

*China Abandoned House, 1:11pm*
Kevin was still rubbing the rope around his hand against the sharp piece of metal; he could feel the rope slowly breaking apart. Finally the rope broke, Kevin untied the rope on his feet. He limped towards Charmaine.
“How did you…?” Charmaine asked.
“Shoo…” Kevin quietly untied Charmaine’s hands and feet, “How are you feeling?”
Charmaine’s hands and feet were a bit sore from being tied up for days, “I’m ok.”
“Stay here,” Kevin got up and limped towards the door, he put his ear against the door and listened carefully, he opened the door slightly and peaked outside. There were only two men outside.
“I’m going to the toilet, watch them two,” one of the guys said.
Kevin closed the door and limped back to Charmaine, he bent down in front of her, “Do you have strength to run?”
Charmaine nodded her head; Kevin helped her up, “That’s good then.”

Thanks for reading... i know u ppl will be shaking ur heads and preparing tomatos to throw at me cos Charmaine accepted Kevin.. but actually i learnt from one of my psychology classes at uni that when people r really really scared (as in on the verge of death or something like that) and if u ask them out at that time they will be more likely to say yes... so therefore this theory can relate a little to the Charmaine and Kevin situation.. as well as she thinks she should have a new start and forget about Raymond... now Tavia knows about Raymond will she help out..??
