Charmaine stepped back after hearing Kevin and Sunny’s conversation, “I can’t believe it,” she took another few steps back and accidentally knocked over some files on Kevin’s secretary’s desk.
Kevin and Sunny heard and immediately ran outside to see Charmaine. The both looked at each other, “I better get going Mr. Cheng,” Sunny said and quickly left.
“Charmaine…” Kevin walked up to her knowing from the expression on her face she heard everything.
“You kidnap the both of us to make yourself look like a hero in front of me so I would go out with you?” Charmaine shook her head, “I trusted you.”
“I can explain… it wasn’t my fault, I didn’t set this up,” Kevin explained.
Charmaine turned around to the elevator, “I can’t be with a guy who uses these tactics to achieve what he wants, I’m very disappointed in you,” she walked into the elevator.
“Is this because of Raymond?” Kevin asked, “Your only breaking up with me because of Raymond.”
“What?” Charmaine couldn’t believe that Kevin didn’t think what he did was wrong, “It’s because you kidnapped me,” although she was angry with him but she felt that he did it because of her so she also was also responsible, "I'm not going to tell anyone..." Charmaine pressed close button on the elevator.
Kevin clenched his fist, he knew it was because of Raymond, “It’s because of you Raymond Lam… she’s using this as an excuse to break up with me to get back with you. Well that’s not going to happen easily,” he picked up his phone and dialled Sunny’s number.

*Mong Kok, Police Station, 12:49pm*
Myolie waited outside the police station for Ron. She was loosing patience waiting for him and after an hour he finally came out. She saw him come out and charged up to him, “What did you do to Tavia?”
Ron was suddenly scared, “I didn’t do anything…” he stuttered a little.
“I know you did, otherwise she wouldn’t avoid you all the time,” Myolie stuck her face uncomfortably close to Ron, “Do not mess with my friend.”
“I told you I didn’t do anything, well not deliberately,” Ron accidentally split.
Myolie stood back, “So you did you something, what ever it is I want you to make up for it. Do anything to cheer her up or…” Myolie shook her fist in the air, “you know the consequences.”
Ron watched Myolie walk off, he thought it was strange how Myolie had such different personalities all the time, he actually thought it was quite amusing. But she was right, he had to do something to make up for the awkward moment with Tavia.

*Few Streets away from Tower, 10:06pm*
Raymond finished his shift and took his normal route to go home. He walked along the quiet street. It had been a few days since Charmaine found out about his tumour, he knew that Charmaine would distance herself from him even more, so he had no hope in ever seeing her again. But if that made her feel better then he was alright with that.
He strolled along the street passing an alleyway when suddenly someone had pulled him inside using a bag covering his head. He couldn’t see what was going on, “What are you doing?” he shouted.
Five men surrounded Raymond, all of them at the same time attacked him, kicking and punching him. Raymond tried to defend himself but couldn’t see. One of the guys knocked Raymond to the ground and kicked him in the stomach a few times. Another guy picked Raymond up and punched him across the face knocking him to the wall, they picked Raymond up and pinned him against the wall and kneed him in the stomach a few times. One of the guys grabbed Raymond’s head and knocked it against the wall continuously.
The five guys left after finishing what they were instructed to do and threw Raymond on the ground half dead. Raymond lay on the ground in pain and blood oozing out of his body. The pain had suddenly gone, he lay no the ground and the only thing he thought of was Charmaine but the image of her was slipping away as Raymond’s vision blacked out.

*Kingswood Apartment, 12:35am*
“Charmaine… Charmaine…” Raymond called out to her.
Charmaine smiled and reached out to Raymond but couldn’t hold onto his hand. He was floating further and further away, “Don’t go!” Charmaine ran after him but she just couldn’t reach him.
She entered a room and saw Raymond lying on the table with four emergency doctors surrounding him. One was holding onto paddles, “Charge to 300… All clear,” he placed the paddles on Raymond and pressed the button. Raymond was shocked but he had no response. The doctors took their masks off, “Time of death 12:35am”
The room was dark, Charmaine walked up to Raymond’s body, she couldn’t believe what was happening, “Raymond… Raymond please don’t die.”
Charmaine was tossing and turning on her bed, “Don’t die…” she suddenly awoke from her dream by her phone ringing, “Raymond!” she sat up from her bed and wiped the sweat off her forehead. She picked the phone up, “Hello?”
The phone slide through Charmaine’s hand, she saw on her bed not moving for quite sometime but finally snapped out of it, “Raymond…” she put a coat on over the pyjamas and grabbed her bag running out of the apartment.

*Hospital, 12:58am*
Charmaine ran in the hospital, she ran straight to the counter, “Is there a Raymond Lam here?”
The nurse was on the phone and couldn’t answer her, she pointed in the emergency room direction.
Charmaine was completely lost; she didn’t know what to do all she knew was to find Raymond. She didn’t know which room Raymond was in; the room suddenly felt like it was spinning around her but stopped when she heard a doctor say his name.
She ran towards the emergency room that Raymond was in and pulled the open the curtain. Charmaine couldn’t believe what she saw; she was too shocked and scared to even move. Raymond was lying on the hospital bed with three doctors surrounding him. His face was bruised with blood oozing out of his mouth that was covered with an oxygen mask.
Charmaine didn’t move but just watched the doctors and nurses revive Raymond. A doctor took two paddles out, “Charge to 200… All clear,” the shocking noise was like a loud thump. Raymond’s body jolted but the monitor still couldn’t read a pulse.
“Charge to 250… Clear,” the doctor shouted out. Everyone stood clear, the doctor shocked Raymond again but again there was no response.
A nurse walked pass and pulled Charmaine away from the emergency room, “Ma’am you’re not meant to be watching.”
Charmaine suddenly woke up from the shock, she pulled her arm away, “Please, you have to save him…” streams of tears were flowing down from her eyes, “Raymond…”
“Charge to 300… Clear,” the doctor shocked Raymond again; they all stood watching the monitor and waited for a response. The doctor shook his head, “Call it…”
“Time of death…” a nurse began to say but at this moment Raymond released a gasp of breath and the monitor showed Raymond’s pulse rising back to normal.
Charmaine sat outside the emergency room and waited. There was nothing she could do but wait patiently. Minutes later the doctors walked out of the room followed by nurses pushing an unconscious Raymond up to the hospital rooms.
Charmaine jumped up and ran over holding onto his hand, “Is he ok?”
The doctors smiled, “It was a tough battle but he pulled through.”
Charmaine held on tightly to Raymond’s hand and walked along side his bed as they pushed him into the room. Hours passed and Charmaine sat by his bed still holding onto his hand not letting go.
“Ray, please wake up,” she held onto Raymond’s hand close to her, “You’ve done so much for me. Let me do something for you, I promise I won’t blame myself for everything that goes wrong. I want to spend the rest of our lives together, even if it’s only one day then that would be the happiest day.”
The morning had come and Charmaine had fallen asleep with her head resting on Raymond’s bed next to his arm. It had been a stressful and tiring day for her. She slowly opened her eyes, she felt as if someone was brushing their hand against her head. She looked up and saw Raymond awake.
Although his face was all bruised, his head and arm were bandaged, Raymond found it easy to forget about the pain, he smiled warmly at Charmaine as he lifted his arm touching Charmaine’s face.
Tears of joy flew from her eyes; she leaned forward and hugged him. Raymond held onto her with his bandaged arm. At this moment, no words were necessary between the two; they both knew that as long as they loved each other nothing could come between them.

*Cheng Mansion, 7:06am*
Kevin was deep in his sleep knowing it was a triumphant day for him. He was woken up by a phone call, he rolled over and picked it up, “Hello?”
“Raymond Lam is still alive,” Sunny told Kevin, “and Charmaine is with him at the hospital.”
Kevin jumped up from his bed, his eyes were burning with fury, “Ahhh!!” the anger in him was burning up knowing his plan not only didn’t work but that Charmaine was also with him. He threw his phone and hit the mirror on the wall smashing it to tiny pieces.

That Kevin is twisted.... getting ppl to attack Ray so he can die.. but that sort of worked out well cos now Charmaine and Raymond are back together.. anywho.. thanks for reading..
