Charmaine and Tavia rushed into the police station.
“Let me ask what’s going on,” Tavia said to Charmaine as she worked there and had a few connections.
Charmaine waited near the entrance while Tavia went over to the counter to talk to one of her colleagues. At the same time Ada walked out, Charmaine immediately ran up to her.
“Why are you holding Raymond under custody?” Charmaine asked intensely as she grabbed onto Ada’s arm.
Tavia saw and quickly pulled Charmaine back, “Sorry Madam, she’s just worried.”
Ada knew how Charmaine would feel, “It’s ok, I understand what she’s going through. At the moment I cannot tell you the exact details.”
“He didn’t do it,” Charmaine was firm on her words knowing that Raymond would never do such a thing, “It must be a mistake.”
Ron stepped out of the interrogation room with Raymond still being cuffed. Charmaine saw and ran up to him but Ron stepped in front blocking her.
Raymond knew exactly what Charmaine was going through and although he was the one in trouble he didn’t want her to worry, “I’m alright, I didn’t do anything.”
“I know you didn’t do it. I trust you,” Charmaine said.
Hearing those words were comforting for Raymond, as long as she trusted him than that was enough to keep him going, “You have to take care of yourself.”
Tavia walked up to Ron, “Can we bail him out?”
“Sorry, this is first degree murder so he can’ be bailed out,” Ron answered, “Sorry…”
Ron looked at Tavia, he felt so bad that he couldn’t help her out, “Take him away,” he told the two officers.
Raymond managed to put on a smile at Charmaine, “I’ll be alright,” he turned to Tavia, “Take care of her.”

*Kingswood Apartment, 1:36pm*
Charmaine and Tavia sat quietly in the living room. Jessica and Moses rushed into the apartment.
“What happened? Why has Raymond been taken into custody?” Jessica asked sitting next to Charmaine.
Charmaine didn’t say a word but sat there staring at the ground. Tavia sighed, “They think Raymond murdered Dr. Ching.”
Moses sat opposite Jessica, “Why would they think that?”
“They said they had enough evidence and witness that proves Raymond was the one who did it, but on top of that which is the most important aspect is that he had the intention of killing Dr. Ching,” Tavia explained to Moses and Jessica.
Jessica turned to Charmaine and held onto her hand, “How you holding up?”
Charmaine looked up at her and smiled a little, “I’m ok,” Charmaine stood up, “I’ll be in my room,” and walked back into her room.
Tavia got up, “I have to go back to the station.”
“Just as well, Moses and I are planning to got to Tower,” Jessica and Moses stood up, “We’ll tell Kevin that Charmaine needs a few days off.”
“Shouldn’t one of us stay here with her?” Tavia asked.
Jessica walked over to Charmaine’s room and opened the door slightly; she saw that Charmaine was lying on her bed with her eyes closed.
“She’s sleeping,” Jessica whispered as she shut the door, “Let her sleep, it’s been a rough day for her.”
Jessica, Moses and Tavia left the apartment. Charmaine opened her eyes hearing the door shut behind them. She turned around facing Raymond’s side of the bed, by this time she had no tears to shed. She knew that she had to stay strong and focused. It took them several years to finally be together and she was determined to do anything to help Raymond.

*MongKok Police Station, 2:45pm*
Tavia changed into her uniform ready for her shift. She walked passed the canteen and saw Ron sitting at a table by himself. Tavia checked her watch and had another fifteen minutes till she had to go for her briefing.
She walked inside and sat across from him, “How’s Raymond?”
“He’s doing fine,” Ron said giving a very general answer.
“You know he didn’t do it,” Tavia said firmly.
Although Ron didn’t know Raymond that well but he had an instinct that Raymond was innocent but all evidence was pointed in Raymond’s direction, “You know I have to be objective about this whole situation.”
Tavia leaned closer to Ron, “Do you believe he did it?”
“I can’t and I won’t answer your question,” Ron stood up, “Sorry,” and walked out of the canteen back to his headquarters.
Tavia knew the situation he was in and although she understood but she couldn’t help but be angry at his attitude towards the situation.

*Tower CEO’s Office, 2:59pm*
“Is Kevin in?” Moses asked Kevin’s secretary.
“Yes, let me just tell him you want to see him,” the secretary buzzed on the intercom, “Mr. Cheng, Jessica and Moses are here to see you.”
A few moments later Kevin buzzed back, “Send them in.”
Jessica and Moses entered Kevin’s office and sat on the chair opposite him at his desk. Kevin was signing a pile of contracts, “What’s up?”
“Charmaine needs a few days off work,” Jessica said.
Kevin looked up at Jessica, “Why? Is she ok?” he asked very concerned.
Jessica looked at Moses, she didn’t know whether she should tell Kevin what was going on or not. Moses shifted his eyes hinting not to tell Kevin.
“She’s sick,” Jessica lied.
“How long does she want off?” Kevin asked.
“It’s like a virus, the doctor doesn’t know how long she will take to recover,” Moses helped Jessica answer.
“Tell her to get a good rest, she can take leave until she feels better,” Kevin suddenly received a call, “Hello…”
Jessica and Moses stood up, “Thanks, I’ll see you later,” and walked out of his office.
Kevin watched as they shut the door, “What is it Sunny?”
“Raymond got taken into custody this morning,” Sunny told Kevin.
Kevin laughed a little, “Really? Well that makes sense seeing Charmaine had to take time off.”
Sunny followed Kevin and laughed as well, “That guy never knew what hit him.”
“It’s his own bad luck,” Kevin said casually.
“But from what I can see Charmaine still trusts him and believes he didn’t do it.”
Kevin leaned back on his chair, “Well, we would just have to make her lose her trust in Raymond now won’t we?”

*Kingswood Apartment, 7:31pm*
Jessica and Moses had come back from Tower; they walked into the apartment and saw Charmaine sitting by the balcony staring up into the sky.
“I’ll see if she’s alright,” Jessica walked over and sat next to Charmaine on the bench, “How you feeling?”
Charmaine kept looking up at the sky, “Don’t worry Dai Ga Jie, Raymond and I have been through a lot to be together, I’m not going to give up on us now. I believe he didn’t do it so I’m not worried about that, I believe justice will serve those that are innocent.”
Jessica patted Charmaine on she shoulder, this was the first time she’s seen her so strong and not hide or blame herself. Charmaine suddenly had a worried look to her face.
“What is it?” Jessica asked.
“Raymond didn’t take his medication, if he doesn’t take his medication he won’t be able to stand the pain.”
Jessica suddenly thought of that she studied while she was at university, which could help Raymond.

thanks for reading.. though i should really be preparing for my presentation but that can wait... Charmaine has alot of trust in Raymond which is great and shes grown and not blaming herself or hiding anymore.. but that kevin.. tsk tsk.. shame on him..
oh yeh.. on a side note i was informed that someone reposted my other fanfic 'The Amendment' on AF.. great that they like my story but would be nice to tell me first.. took me alot of time to write it... but im not complaining..
