“Let me help Raymond,” Kevin words felt very sincere.
Jessica pulled Kevin outside to the balcony, “Kevin what are you doing?”
“I just want to help Charmaine,” Kevin replied.
Jessica sighed, “She’s married now, your not going to win her back by helping her.”
“I don’t want to win her back,” Kevin looked over at Charmaine who was sitting next to Raymond, “I will admit I still like her very much and as long as she is happy than so am I. If helping Raymond will make her happy than I will do everything to I can to help him win his case,” Kevin’s words were very convincing, although he didn’t want to lie to his best friend but he at this point he really didn’t care anymore, as long as he can get himself involved nothing really mattered.
Jessica smiled and pattered him on the shoulder, “I’m so happy you finally let her go, and now we have your help I’m sure Raymond will win his case successfully.”
Kevin smiled, “Let’s go back in,” he followed behind Jessica and walked into the living room. He found it so easy to lie and act all supportive, he knew the only way to gain their trust is to actually believe that he wants to help. The best lie is to even lie to yourself.
Raymond stood up in front of Kevin and lifted his hand, “Thank you Mr. Cheng, I really appreciate your help.”
Kevin shook Raymond’s hand, “I believe you didn’t do it and since your Jessica’s brother in law I’m willing to lend you guys a hand.”
Charmaine stood up as well; she saw the trust Raymond had in Kevin. She thought to herself that if Raymond trusted Kevin she will too, “Thanks Kevin.”
Everyone gathered around the living room to listen to Michael’s thoughts of the case, “The main point the police have is the fact that Raymond has the intention to kill.”
“What intention?” Charmaine asked not knowing that the tumour was just a set up.
“Dr. Ching received money to fake my tumour,” Raymond told Charmaine.
“And that is what lead to conflict between the two. Another significant point is that there were witnesses of this conflict as well as physical evidence,” Michael explained, “All of this added up is enough to lead the police to that Raymond convicted the murder.”
Kevin listened carefully pretending to be all interested, “but no one saw him do it…”
Michael turned to Raymond, “Where were you at the time Dr. Ching was murdered?”
Raymond thought back, “I called Charmaine then after I went straight home.”
“How did you get home?”
“I drove,” Raymond answered.
“Did you meet anyone or did anything happen during that time that can prove you weren’t at the crime scene,” Michael asked.
Raymond thought carefully and shook his head, “Nothing happened…”
Michael glanced at his watch, “Sorry, I have another client to meet,” he stood up and walked towards the door, “We’ll set up another time before the trial to discuss matters further.”
Raymond shook Michael’s hand, “Thanks.”
Kevin got up and followed Michael, “I have to get going too.”
“Thanks Kevin,” Raymond again shook Kevin’s hand.
Kevin turned to Charmaine, “Don’t worry about work, you can come back when all this is sorted out.”
Charmaine smiled a little, “Thanks.”
Kevin and Michael walked out the door and entered the elevator. Kevin had a smirk on his face, “Very convincing Michael.”
Michael shook his head and laughed, “Same to you. All this for that girl?”
“If it wasn’t because of Raymond Lam, Charmaine and I would still be together,” Kevin’s face had suddenly gone dark with vengeance, “he made me lose and because of that he will get what he deserves.”

*MongKok Police Station, 7:21pm*
Ron was still at the station waiting for the phone company to send him the details of calls made in and out of Paul Ching’s number. This may be his only hope in discovering evidence that can help Raymond.
Moments later he received an email from the phone company, he clicked open the file and strolled down to the time before the death of Paul Ching. He had only received one phone call from the registered phone of Sunny Chan.
“Sunny Chan…” the name was very familiar to Ron, he couldn’t remember where he heard that name before.
Ada walked back into the headquarters and saw Ron hard at work, “Still here?”
Ron jumped up, “Madam, do you know a Sunny Chan?”
“Sunny Chan?” Ada also found this name familiar, she walked back into her office with Ron following, “The name sounds very familiar.”
“I think so too, I just can’t think of where I heard it before.”
Ada typed his name in the police database. Seconds later his profile appeared on the monitor. She clicked into his name but there were no details regarding him.
Ron leaned forward to the monitor, “How come there is nothing about him?”
“I don’t know,” Ada clicked again but the same thing happened, “Why are you asking about him anyways?”
“He called Paul Ching the night he died, at the same time Raymond Lam said he heard Paul Ching talking on the phone,” Ron opened the call log and showed Ada, “Would it be possible that he had something to do with Paul Ching’s death?”
“What connection does Sunny have with Paul?” Ada asked trying to get Ron to think.
“He must have some connection,” Ron suddenly remembered the content Paul Ching’s conversation, “Raymond Lam said that Paul Ching was talking on the phone about receiving money to lie about Raymond having a tumour. Now that we know Sunny was who he was talking to then it means Sunny is the one who gave Paul money.” The more Ron thought about it the more it made sense, “Madam, I think this matter should be further investigated.”
Ada smiled a little, “Then you can be in charge, but remember that Raymond Lam’s trial is soon.”
Ron ran back outside and grabbed his bag leaving the station. Ada looked at Sunny’s picture, the more she looked at his photo the more familiar she thought he was.

*Outside Sunny’s Apartment, 9:38pm*
Ron waited outside Sunny’s apartment for him to return. He hid on the other side of the road so Sunny wouldn’t be able to see him. Minutes later, Ron say Sunny walking up the street back to his apartment. Sunny’s phone began to ring.
“Hello?” Sunny stopped and answered the phone.
Ron watched from a distance. Sunny hung up the phone and instead of going into his building he turned around and walked back the way he came from. Ron quickly ran across the road and followed him having a feeling he was up to something. He followed Sunny but kept himself at a distance.
Sunny kept walking and turned into an alleyway. Ron picked up his pace and followed him into the alleyway, Sunny walked a little slower with his hands in his pockets. His phone started ringing again and he took out his phone dropping something that looked like a ticket.
Sunny turned his head slightly, Ron quickly jumped behind a dumpster, hiding from Sunny. He kept watching as Sunny turned another corner. Ron stepped out from behind the dumpster and walked towards the ticket Sunny dropped. He picked it up and read it.
“Parking ticketing for the hospital the night Paul Ching died,” Ron said to himself, he checked the time and it was roughly the same time Dr. Ching died. Ron walked back out to the main street, he thought about the ticket, which confirms Sunny’s appearance at the hospital, but having this ticket isn’t enough proof.
Ron looked at the time and decided to go to the hospital himself to check things out himself. His phone started to vibrate and it was Tavia, “Hello.”
“Ron where are you? You were meant to meet me an hour ago,” Tavia said.
Ron couldn’t let Tavia know what was going on, because after all it was confidential, “I’m busy, talk to you later,” and he hung up the phone without even saying goodbye to Tavia.
