Kevin took a step closer to Charmaine, he didn’t say a word but glared at her. For each step Kevin stepped forward Charmaine backed away. The look on his face was frightening; she’d never seen him like this before.
“Kevin… I…” she wanted to explain but couldn’t even come up with a lie.
Kevin glanced over at the computer screen and took another step forward towards Charmaine, “You betrayed me…” he said coldly as he walked another step towards Charmaine, “I loved you with all my heart and in return I get your betrayal.”
The look on Kevin’s face was scaring Charmaine, she stepped backwards but there was no where to go and she was backed into a corner.
Kevin stood right in front of her, “Everything I did wasn’t enough to get back your love. All this time the reason you came back to me was to help Raymond Lam,” saying Raymond’s name got Kevin even more furious, “Raymond Lam... Raymond Lam… you betrayed me for him.”
Charmaine was backed against the wall, she couldn’t move with Kevin standing so close, “Kevin…”
The anger in Kevin was bursting out, “I loved you so much and this is how you treat me,” he raised his hands and wrapped it around Charmaine’s neck strangling her, “Why can’t you love me back?” Kevin shouted as he squeezed harder on Charmaine’s neck.
Charmaine was struggling to catch some breath, she tried pushing Kevin away but she was too weak, “Kev…” she grabbed his hands trying to pull them away.
Kevin suddenly realised what he was doing and released Charmaine, making her fall to the ground. He bent down and grabbed Charmaine, “I’m only this because I love you,” and he dragged the weak Charmaine out of the study.
Sunny was still on the other side of the phone which fell next to the desk and heard everything. He knew Charmaine was now in serious danger and with the Kevin that he knew, it was unpredictable with what he would do next.

*Phoenix Apartment, 12:52am*
Sunny banged on the apartment door continuously, “Come on…”
Ron, Jessica and Moses walked out of their rooms thinking would be at their house so late in the night. Jessica who was half asleep opened the door. Ron immediately awoke and pulled Jessica back behind him as he saw Sunny.
“What are you doing here?” Ron asked as he stood in front protecting Jessica and his brother.
“There’s not time to answer that,” Sunny grabbed Ron’s arm but Ron pushed him away, “Charmaine is in danger.”
Ron found it weird how Sunny knew about Charmaine, “What are you talking about?”
Sunny didn’t have time to explain to Ron, “Kevin found her out.”
Jessica had no idea what was going on but hearing that her sister is in danger was enough, “Ron…”
Sunny grabbed Ron’s arm, “I’ll explain to you on the way. We have to find Raymond first.”
Ron ran back to his room and changed his clothes and grabbed his handgun before leaving with Sunny.
Moses put his arm around Jessica, “Everything is going to be fine.”

*Kingswood Apartment, 1:03am*
Raymond was woken by his mobile phone ringing continuously. He looked at the display and it was a private number, he picked up the phone.
“Ray…Help!” Charmaine shouted over the other side of the phone.
Raymond sat up hearing Charmaine’s cry for help, “Charmaine!”
Kevin spoke into the phone, “You hear that Raymond?”
“What do you want?” Raymond shouted into the phone.
Kevin laughed, “Did you know Charmaine came back to me to save you. So silly… don’t worry, I won’t hurt her because after all I do still love her.”
“Let her go!” Raymond jumped out of bed and changed his clothes.
“I want you to come the village house just outside the city, I’ll give you half an hour and if are even a second late I have no guarantee what I will do to her,” Kevin hung up the phone immediately after his instructions.
Raymond ran out of his room making such a huge noise he woke Tavia up. She walked out of her room half asleep and saw Raymond at the door, “Where you going?”
“Your sister…” Raymond began to say but he didn’t know if it such a good idea to tell a police. It may put Charmaine in even more danger.
“What about my sister?” Tavia asked.
Raymond didn’t answer her and opened the front door to see Ron and Sunny standing outside about to knock. He pushed them out of the way and ran to the elevator heading downstairs.
“What’s going on?” Tavia asked Ron.
Ron and Sunny knew that Raymond knew where Kevin was, “Did Raymond say where he was going?” Ron asked.
Tavia shook her head.
Sunny looked at Raymond, “We have to follow him…”
“I’m coming with you guys,” Tavia said.
“No your not,” Ron said firmly.
“I want to help, I’m a police too,” Tavia insisted.
“There’s no time to argue, just let her come,” Sunny ordered.

*Outside Kingswood Apartment, 1:11am*
Ron, Tavia and Sunny reached downstairs as Raymond drove off. All three of them jumped into Sunny’s car and chased after Raymond who was speeding down the road.
“Are you going to tell us who you are?” Ron asked Sunny who was driving.
Sunny knew he couldn’t hide his identity anymore, “I’m special agent Sunny Chan, I was sent as an undercover police to investigate Kevin Cheng and Tower. We had a lead that he was involved with the black society and used Tower for to commit fraudulent activities but the only thing we were missing was actually evidence. It wasn’t until I actually started working for him that I realised that he has some serious issues and his not as normal as you think he is. He will do anything to not win and get what he wants.”
Tavia sat back in the car, “Does that mean my sister is in serious danger?”
“I know that Kevin actually does love your sister but he lost to Raymond in terms of not getting her love back so I really don’t know what he would do to her,” Sunny turned a sharp corner trying to catch up to Raymond.
Raymond looked in his rear mirror and saw Sunny’s car following him, he glanced at the time and saw he only had ten minutes left to get to the village house. The lights in front of him turned red but Raymond didn’t care and slammed on the accelerator running through the light.
Sunny was going to chase after him but jammed on his breaks as he was being blocked off.
“Damn it,” Sunny hit his steering wheel. He thought hard but had no idea where Kevin would take Charmaine.
Tavia had to stay calm and think clearly, she took out her phone and dialled Myolie’s number, “Myolie… do you know of any place where your brother would go to when his angry?”
Myolie thought it was weird for asking such a question but for her best friend she was willing to help, “We have a village house. I know that my brother goes around that area when he is unhappy. Why are you asking?”
“I will explain later, thanks,” Tavia hung up the phone and sat forward, “This may be our only chance, Myolie said a house outside of the city.”
Myolie hung up the phone, the more she thought about it the more it didn’t seem right. She grabbed her bag and decided to have a look.

*Village House, 1:30am*
Raymond jammed on the breaks in front of the house, he looked at the time and only had a few minutes left. He ran in front of the house and busted the door open to see Kevin standing across the room looking at his watch with a gun in his hand.
“You just made it,” Kevin said with an evil smirk on his face.
“Where is she? What did you do to her?” Raymond shouted as he felt out of breath.
Kevin laughed seeing Raymond so nervous, “Don’t worry, she’s fine. After all I am still in love with her.”
Kevin point his gun at Raymond and stepped forward, “Raymond Lam… I really don’t get what is so good about you. You don’t have any money; you don’t own a huge corporation like I do. I really don’t see what Charmaine sees in you.”
Raymond was subtle with his movements, “Where is she?” he asked again.
“If it wasn’t for you Charmaine would be by my side, why did you have to steal her away from me?” Kevin stepped a little closer, “I thought making Dr. Ching tell you that you have a tumour would be enough for you to back out of the relationship. But that Paul Ching just had to be on holidays which lead to the truth.”
“So you killed him?” Raymond asked as he reached in his pocket and pressed on his phone to record the conversation.
“What’s the point of keeping useless people alive?” Kevin took another step forward, “I also thought that framing you would bring Charmaine back to me but she only came back to me to try and save you.”
“Where is she?” Raymond shouted.
Kevin laughed and walked out of the house. Raymond followed behind him and browsed around the outside but Charmaine was no where to be seen. Raymond looked everywhere and suddenly felt something hit him on the shoulder from above.
Raymond looked up and saw Charmaine tied up hanging from the roof of the house.

Thanks for reading... one more chapter to go... that Kevin has serious problems.. quite a creepy guy i think.. will Raymond save Charmaine?? Will Kevin let Charmaine go? Will they have a happy ending..??
