Nnadia opened her file and looked through it. She nodded as she looked up at June and Tavia. “I assume you have no idea why you can’t remember anything.” Nnadia said.

June nodded. Nnadia looked back at her files then looked at June. “You might have Retrograde Amnesia. Hindrance of memory could have come from a blow to the head, alcoholism, surgery, or a stroke.” Nnadia said.

“Oh my…” June said. “Umm… what…” she held onto her head.

Nnadia nodded. “I’ll try to see if I can help you with hypnotherapy. Lie down and close your eyes. Now loosen up you body and try not to concentrate. As I talk, just tell me the first thing you can think of.” She advised.

June nods her head and relaxes herself. Tavia sits close by for mental support because June wants her there. Nnadia starts asking questions and trying to click parts of June’s memory. June sees an image in her head.

========= + + JUNE’S MEMORY + + =========

I see... I see... a girl. It's... it's me. I'm drunk running up to two girls laughing hilariously with a guy wrapped in my arms. “Hi girls.” The guy said with a smile.

“Hi.” They both said as they checked if I was ok.

“Stephen this is Charlene and …” I said to introduce them but was cut off.

“We need to leave.” the other girl said interrupting me.

“Come on girls let’s go out and party!” I said dragging them.

Charlene shook her head and the other girl had a reluctantly smile. They felt uncomfortable in the club. “We need to go.” the other girl said indicating something in her hands.

“We should get going.” Charlene said looking at the time.

I shook my head at them. “Why, so earlier? It’s only 2 a.m.!” I said running off with Stephen again.

========= + + END MEMORY + + =========

June suddenly shot up from the chair. “Where is this place you recalled?” Nnadia asked.

“A bar, called Big Apple! I was there with two friends; Charlene and another girl I can’t remember the name of.”

Tavia jumped up and down happily. “That’s cool you remembered something. Hopefully you’ll remember more with a few more sessions.” She said.

Nnadia nodded. “Hopefully the next session can bring out more memories. I have another appointment right now, but I’ll look forward to seeing you two next time.” She said looking at the time.

June and Tavia nodded. “Sure, thank you so much for your help.” June said smiling because she remembered something. Nnadia nodded as they left.

======================================

A man was sitting in the waiting room reading the newspaper which blocked him from seeing June and Tavia leave. The receptionist, Leila called him. “Mr. Ekin Cheng, its time for your appointment now.”

He placed his newspaper down and winked at Leila. “Thanks!” he said straightening up his clothes to enter Nnadia’s office.

Nnadia smiled as he entered. She knew he was there again for nonsense. He came all the time, making silly appointments just to ask her out on a date. All she knew about the man was that he was a very wealthy business man.

“So how can I help you today Mr. Cheng?” she asked strictly.

Ekin sat in the patient’s chair. “My head is spinning because the woman I'm interested in always rejects me. It hurts so much. I believe it’s affecting my self-esteem.” He said jokingly.

Nnadia smiled but tried to stay serious. “I believe you should get over her and find someone worth your time.” She advised.

“I can’t forget her. Everything about her amazes me. She’s smart, beautiful, funny, caring, and just plain wonderful.” He said winking at her.

She rolled her eyes. “But if she isn’t interested in you, you should just forget her.” Nnadia said.

Ekin shook his head. “How can you control the way your heart feels?” he asked.

Nnadia shook her head. “The heart doesn’t always control the mind.” She said sternly. “Your mind actually controls your heart.”

Ekin jumped up from his seat and came closer to her face. “Can you honestly tell me, you don’t ever think with your heart?” he asked.

Nnadia’s heart beat rapidly. She wanted to back away but also didn’t want to display fear. “The heart creates passion and desire that drives the mind into regrets.” She said sternly.

Ekin chuckled. “Who taught you that?” he asked.

“My boyfriend.” Nnadia replied sternly.

===============================================================================

After the session, Tavia and June went shopping to buy some clothes for June. Tavia noticed June had a routine shopping pattern. “Why do you touch all the fabric, look at the clothes, then try it on?” Tavia asked.

June shook her head. “I don’t know. It was the first thing I did.” She replied.

“Another thing is your tone with the sales reps is very authoritative and you don’t even look at the price. You must have been wealthy before,” Tavia remarks with a wink.

“I don’t know. I’m sorry. I don’t know why I just automatically did that.” June said feeling guilty.

Tavia laughs. “No what I mean is your shopping patterns makes me think you were wealthy.” She explains.

June frowns not understanding. Tavia laughs again. “You only go for the best fabrics, then the best styles, and the way you talk to the sales rep is very audacious, like you own the place.” She explains.

June blushed. “I didn’t know that. I just naturally did it .”

They got a few outfits that were suited to Tavia’s budget and left the mall. They didn’t buy everything June picked out because it was too expensive for Tavia budget.

They pasted by a restaurant called ‘Taste of Love’ Tavia looked at it. “I always wanted to eat in there but it’s really expensive. One bowl of soup cost $150HKD! And a salad cost $200HKD. Imagine the main course.” She exclaimed.

June looked at the restaurant and froze. Something about it was very familiar. She could see herself eating in there. She could imagine herself wasting the food and throwing it around then drinking and smoking with people. She hugged herself afraid of the images she saw. This couldn’t be her! The girl she saw was very rude, mean, wild, and boastful.

“Are you ok?” Tavia asked noticing June’s facial expression.

“I’ve been in there before.” June replied slowly.

Tavia looked at her. “You think they’ll know who you are?” she asked excitedly.

June shook her head. “I don’t know. All I know is I’ve eaten there before.” She replied afraid to know.

“Let’s go in and find out.” Tavia said excitedly and dragged her in hoping to help June remember her identity.

They walked in and the concierge immediately greeted June. “Hello Miss. You haven’t been here for so long, but we’ve kept your room ready for you.” he said escorting them to her VIP room.

Tavia and June looked at each other and decided to follow him. He seated them then turned to her. “Do you want the regular?” he asked.

“How much does her regular cost?” Tavia asked.

The concierge laughed. “She never has to pay.” He said.

June nodded. “I don’t pay.” She said as if she knew it or something. June was about to ask him if he knew her but Tavia hushed her. “That’s what she wants then.” Tavia replied.

“I’ll be getting it immediately.” He said and rushed out.

June looked at Tavia. “Do you know how much I’ve wanted to eat here!” Tavia squealed happily. “Let’s ask him about your background after we eat.” She suggested.

“What if he makes us pay for it after he realizes I don’t know who I am?” June says.

“We can leave and come back tomorrow.” Tavia suggests.

Since Tavia has been so kind to her June nodded her head. She wanted to do something to thank Tavia for her kindness. They had a grand feast of only the best cuisines. Tavia enjoyed so much food she’s never dared eat in her life. June found the food routine and normal as if she ate it everyday but couldn’t recall it.

===============================================================================

Michelle sat inside Big Apple drinking a mixed beverage. She looked at her time impatiently. Where were they? She wondered. She didn't have all day to wait for these nonsense peeople. Just then someone tapped her on the shoulders. She looked up to see her adoptive cousins. “Hey Charlene! Hi Gillian!” she exclaimed hugging them.

They hugged her back. “How have you been?” they both asked in unison.

“I’ve been fine. Gosh, I’ve been back for almost a year now but haven’t had time to see you two. Are you two really that busy?” Michelle asked eyeing them suspiciously.

“No, we just wanted to avoid you.” Gillian joked.

Michelle rolled her eyes taking the comment to literally but decided to ignore it. “Who doesn’t want to see the beautiful magnificent Michelle Yip!” she exclaimed.

Charlene stuck her finger in her mouth. “Urgh! Don’t make me barf!” she said trying to joke.

Michelle playfully hit them. The trio laughed and took a seat on the side of Michelle at the bar then ordered their drinks. They were adoptive cousins and haven’t seen each other for 6 years because Michelle moved to America for school and police training and just returned last year.

Michelle has no idea what the sisters have gone through in the last few years and the sisters have no intention of letting her know. They just wanted to start life all over again since everything happened.

As they talked and laughed Charlene looked around the bar and noticed Edison coming in. “Shit!” she hissed then motioned Gillian to take Michelle away and hide. Gillian nodded.

“What’s going on?” Michelle asked as Gillian dragged her towards the back exit of the bar.

“I’ll explain later.” Gillian said motioning Michelle to follow her.

======================================

Gillian and Michelle were running out the back door. “But I told my boyfriend, Raymond to meet us here.” Michelle said as Gillian continued shoving her out.

“Call him and tell him to meet us somewhere else.” Gillian said taking a deep breath. That was a close call.

Michelle got her cell phone out. “Ok, but what about Charlene?” she asked.

“Charlene has bigger problems to deal with now.” Gillian responded fanning herself from running so much.

“What is that?” Michelle asked putting the phone to her ear.

Gillian looked at Michelle not knowing how to explain it. Just then Michelle put up her finger to hush her. “Hey Ray, it’s me Michelle, we changed the location from Big Apple to…” Michelle paused and looked at Gillian.

“To... to... Taste of Love.” Gillian replied because it was their regular hang out spot so she thought of it first.

“Taste of Love” Michelle spoke into the receiver. “Do you know where it is?” she asked pausing a little for Raymond’s response. “Ok I’ll meet you there later.” She said nodding as she hung up.

Gillian was still thinking about the close call they just encountered. Michelle turned to her. “So what happened earlier?” She asked.

Gillian shrugged. “I don’t know, long story. I’ll let Charlene explain, she’s better at it.” She said. She didn't really want to explain it.

Michelle shrugged. “Sure, whatever.” She said as they went to “Taste of Love”. She didn't really care to listen.

======================================

Charlene got up and walked over to Edison. “What brings you here tonight?” she asked even though she knew why he came here.

“Hey Char, come drink with me.” Edison said putting his arms around her shoulders and dragging her in. Shivers ran down her spine. Every time they touched it made her so nervous and excited her at the same time.

“Give me two mutherfuckers!” Edison yelled pounding the counter.

“Forget it.” Charlene said looking sternly at the bartender, Hawick. Everyone knew Charlene controlled everything in the bar even though the bar belonged to someone else.

She was still in his arms. “What’s wrong, you don’t want to drink with me?” he asked a little drunk already from the drinks he had prior to arriving.

Charlene assumed he drank in the car already. “You’re drunk! I don’t think you should drink anymore.” She insisted looking sternly at him.

Edison chuckled. “I’m not drunk. I still know you’re Charlene and I’m at the Big Apple. And my name is Edison.”

Charlene shook her head. “Come on.” She said trying to drag him out.

Edison shoved her off him. “Fuck if I want to drink leave me alone, bitch!” he hissed. "Dam bitch! Who does she think she is!" he was cursing another woman but she thought he was cussing at her and was very hurt by his words.

He slammed on the counter once more. “Where’s my drink!” he shouted. "Rejecting me after what I did." he mummbled under his breath.

Charlene didn't hear him and nodded to Hawick. He quickly mixed the drink and gave it to Edison. Charlene watched as Edison gulped it down and asked for another one, then another. It went on like this for 2 hours.

Shawn walked into the bar. “Hey Charlene, can I take Ed home yet?” he asked.

Charlene nodded. “Wait for me, I’ll come with you.” she said then turned to the bartender. “Make sure everything is in order before you guys close.”

===============================================================================

Raymond arrived at ‘Taste of Love’ just in time to see Tavia and June leaving the restaurant. He walked up to them with a smile to greet them. “Hi Tavia.” He said then looked at June. “Hi” he said not knowing her name yet.

Tavia rolled her eyes at him. “Hey Ray.” She said looking away.

“Hi, Dr. Lam.” June said. “You can call me June since I don’t know my name and was admitted into the hospital in June.”

Raymond smiled at her. “That’s good, now I know what to call you. Oh and please don’t call me Dr. Lam. We’re not in the hospital. Just call me Ray like Tavia.” He said.

June nodded. Tavia looked at him then looked at the time. “We should get going now.” She said rudely.

“Do you need a ride?” Raymond offered as a nice gesture.

“I can afford a Taxi!” Tavia replied with an attitude. She thought he was flaunting his wealth with his car.

Raymond took a deep breath and responded with an attitude too. “I was only being nice.” He replied.

“I don’t need you to show off your fancy BMW. A Taxi is fine for me!” she hissed thinking he was belittling her..

“I’m only worried for June’s safety.” He said in a mean tone of voice.

June watched them. Tavia was meaner to Raymond than he was to her. He seemed like he was trying to be nice earlier but now he was being mean to her too. They seemed to be arguing but June could sense something else in their argument.

“We should get going.” June said feeling the tension. She didn’t want them getting into a deeper argument.

Tavia looked at her and nodded. “Let’s go.” She said walking away without saying bye to Raymond.

“Bye Ray.” June said as she followed Tavia.

“Bye June.” Raymond said taking a deep breath as he shook his head. Tavia always found a reason to irritate him even when he was trying to be nice.

======================================

Michelle walked into the restaurant. “This is Taste of Love?” she asked. "It's nice."

Gillian walked in cautiously. She hadn’t been in here for a while, ever since everything happened between her and Edison. “Yup, it’s nice isn’t it?”

Michelle nodded then spotted Raymond. “Hey honey.” She greeted him.

Raymond hugged her. “Hi, is this your cousin, Gillian?” he asked.

Michelle nodded and introduced her adoptive cousin. Then the concierge greeted them. “Hello Miss, you haven’t been here in a long time, do you want the regular table?” he asked.

Gillian nodded. The concierge led them in to another VIP room and they took a seat to have dinner that night.

===============================================================================

Edison woke up looking around his room. He had a major hang over as he held onto his head. Charlene came out of the bathroom. “Hi you’re awake.” She said with a smile.

“You slept over last night?” he asked looking at the blanket on the couch in his room.

Charlene nodded. “Yeah I just wanted to take care of you.” she replied.

Edison knew Charlene loved him but he didn’t feel the same for her. He had someone else in his mind. “Charlene, I’m not worth it.” He said.

Charlene shook her head walking over to his bed and sat down. “You’re worth it.” She said stroking his hair delicately with her hand. She arched her legs up on his bed.

Edison jumped off his bed. “Charlene you know there’s no possibility with me.” He said nervously. He caught a glimpse of her cleavage and was slowly losing himself to this seductive creature before him.

Charlene walked up to him. “Nothing is impossible.” She seductively whispered into his ears as she walked away into the bathroom to change.

Edison took a deep breath. He was very turned on just looking at her. But he was determined not to fall into the snare of antoehr desire, one person was enough.

Edison’s cell phone rang, after listening to it he immediately rushed out of his house. Charlene saw him rush out. “Where are you going?” she asked. Edison didn’t reply. He just kept going.

Charlene stood there wondering what happened. A bad feeling went through her mind.

===============================================================================

Nicholas rushed to “Taste of Love”. He entered the restaurant to see Edison yelling at the concierge. “What do you mean she’s gone!” Edison yelled holding him by the collar.

“Where is she?” Nicholas asked angrily grabbing the concierge’s collar also.

The concierge was now in shook and fear. “I don’t know. She was here yesterday. She’s left and I don’t know when she’ll be back.” He said.

“Back off!” Edison yelled glaring at Nicholas.

“You back off.” Nicholas said in a threatening voice.

Sam who was standing behind Nicholas prepared a gun. Shawn who was behind Edison got his gun ready.

“Please let me go.” The concierge begged. He knew something bad was going to happen.

Edison and Nicholas both let the concierge go. They glared at each other and next thing you knew they started to fight. “Fuck You!” Nicholas screamed lunging at Edison.

Edison was knocked down and punched Nicholas. “Fuckin asshole!” Edison yelled.

Sam and Shawn stood ready to shoot the other guy to protect their boss, but with the commotion couldn't shoot.

Nicholas knocked Edison in the chin. Edison fell back and kicked Nicholas in the stomach. They both got back up and charged at each other again punching each other in the face at the same time.

Nicholas glared at Edison. “You’re going down!” he said quickly coming at Edison with a fierce kick.

Edison fell back and hit one of the waiting chairs. Shawn ran over to him and helped him up. Sam smiled standing next to Nicholas. “Good going boss.” He complimented.

“Not so soon.” Edison said grabbing one of the chairs to throw at Nicholas.

Nicholas didn’t expect it and wasn’t prepared. Sam immediately blocked it for Nicholas and got hit down. “Fuckin scandalous!” Nicholas yelled reaching for Sam’s gun that got knocked out of his hand.

Edison reached for Shawn’s gun which was closer than the one Nicholas was reaching for. He immediately shot Nicholas. Shawn pulled Edison’s hand. “We can’t kill him.” The bullet pierced through Nicholas's left arm.

“Fuck!” Edison yelled irritated that he didn't kill Nicholas.

“Shit! Call the ambulance!” Sam shouted. The concierge rushed away to call the ambulance.

“Shit!” Shawn shouted dragging Edison away.

===============================================================================

“Aaahhhh…!!!” June woke up screaming with her forehead filled with perspiration and her whole body trembling. She looks around to make sure she’s in Tavia’s apartment.

Tavia rushes in. “Are you ok? Did you have a nightmare?” she asked.

June nodded her head. “He got shot! He got shot!” She shouted in freight.

“Who got shot? Should we call Nnadia?” Tavia asked,

“I don’t know. There were people fighting and someone got shot!” June said still a little shaky.

Tavia looked at June and got up. “Let me get you some warm milk.” She said. June nodded.

“What was it that you saw?” Tavia asked when she came back.

“I saw some men shooting each other.” June responded taking a sip of her milk.

Tavia nodded. “What else?” she asked.

“I was looking into my own reflection in the mirror. I had on a lovely wedding gown; white sleeveless top with a long train. My hair was perfect in soft curls that hung flawlessly over my face. I was getting married.”

“People shooting on your wedding day?” Tavia asked.

“I don’t know if it was the same day.” June responded taking another sip of her milk before continuing. “The shooting seemed like a different day and when I looked at my reflection, all I felt was agony and pain.”

“That’s strange.” Tavia responded. “Why don’t we see Nnadia first thing today? I’ll call Ray for a day off.”

June nodded. “Thanks.” She said trembling as she thought of the sight in her dreams.
