Chapter 3

+“You're not gonna give up, are you?”+

S un Mi looked up from her laptop to see- “I'm Seung Ri, what's your name...?” Sun Mi quickly got out of

the webpage, and closed the screen. “I-I'm Sun Mi,” she finally spoke as she stuck out a hand, which he gladly

shook. “I see you don't come here often,” he laughed as he took a seat across from her, “I've never seen you

here before.” Sun Mi tried her best to act normal, as she casually put her laptop away and joked, “I see you DO

come her often. Maybe too much, don't you think...?” Seung Ri smiled, as the lights around him seemed to dim a

bit, “Let's just say...this is where i hang out sometimes.” Sun Mi looked at her hands, firmly set out on the table, in

front of them. “What were you doing with your laptop?” he asked, when he realized she hadn't replied to his first

remark. “Oh...” Sun Mi blushed, trying not to show how nervous she had suddenly gotten, “that...? I was...just

doing some research...” She hoped it hadn't interested him, so he wouldn't go on any further with the questions.

When he didn't say anything, she let out a sigh of relief. After all, he hadn't seem like the type-

“What kind of research?” Seung Ri asked, slightly leaning over the table. 'Aish!' Sun Mi yelled at herself. She felt

like hitting her head, banging it against something hard, for being stupid enough to jinx herself like this. “Um...”

Sun Mi bit her lip, nervously, as she fidgeted with her fingers, “its nothing important.” He smiled at how nervous

she had suddenly gotten. “Can i help?”

Sun Mi looked up from her hands, at him, surprised by his response. She's never been asked that

before...especially not from a guy, unexpectedly. Besides, he didn't seem like the geeky type. She gazed at him

from her side of the table, thankful that he couldn't see her, for the lights were dim and most of the little light that

shone-shone on him.

The blonde part of his hair showed like a sore thumb, because the rest of his hair was black- except for

the blonde in front... She couldn't help but think to herself...How would it feel like...running a hand through his hair,

messing it up...? “Omo-” she stopped her thoughts, before they carried on any further. Sun Mi mentally slapped

herself for imagining such a thing with some RANDOM guy, who she just met, at a BAR. Which, by the way, was

the worst place to meet a guy-or so she thought-because most guys at bars were drunks, looking for any

vulnerable prey...

She shook away the thought, and came back to reality. And it wasn't as if this 'reality' of hers lasted long, for he

smiled, for like...the 5th...or 6th time, and she lost all means of concentration. “So...” he leaned across the table

to meet her eye to eye, but she leaned back, hiding herself. “You want me to help you?” he went on, ignoring what

she had just did. He stared hard at her...trying to make out where or who she was looking at unaware that she

was, for that very moment, looking at nothing else but him... “Um...” Sun Mi hesitated. She knew she couldn't say

no to this offer, after all, it was the FIRST time someone's ever asked her that. And, yes, Sun Mi had to admit- it

was probably the last, too... She came close to giving in, until the DJ cranked up the music, and the whole place

felt as if it began to shake. Seung Ri shook away the hair that had fallen in front of his eyes, and stuck out a hand

to Sun Mi, who stared blankly at it. “We can dance instead,” he smiled, again. Sun Mi continued to stare at his

hand... She felt a sudden urge to reach out to it, but she remembered...she had no experience with dancing. Her

face heated up, for she knew she had to admit this to him. “I...” Sun Mi's hand had a mind of it's own, for it slowly

began to reach out for his, “I-” “I'll show you,” Seung Ri interrupted her, “I want to be the one that taught you how

to dance.” Along with that, he added a smile, which left Sun Mi with no other choice. As her hand slid into his, she

felt her knees begin to tremble. The thought of her dancing entered her head...

She remembered the first (and last) time she made an attempt to dance... “Really,” Sun Mi told herself

as she stepped on the dance floor with her hand still in his, “i just looked like a deformed skeleton, waving itself

everywhere.”

Sun Mi's thoughts were lost, when Seung Ri suddenly slid his arm around her waist. She immediately tensed up,

and he must've noticed, because he laughed, “Yah, don't worry, i won't do anything to you; We're just dancing.” He

pulled Sun Mi forward, and she accidentally stepped on his foot. “Omo-” she turned bright pink, not that he would

notice, because the place was so dim, “Aish! Mian he, ah.” Sun Mi pulled away from Seung Ri, and stepped back, “I-

i can't do this. I've only tried once, but...you know what...? It's really useless. I-” Seung Ri pulled Sun Mi against

him, and slid his arm around her, “You're not gonna give up, are you?” “Um...” Sun Mi hesitated, and he tightened

his grip on her waist, “i-i...guess not...” He smiled, and said, “Good. Then follow my every move, arasso?” Sun Mi

nodded, not daring to look up at him, she did what she was told, and mimicked his every move.

Not long after, Sun Mi began dancing like a pro. Something she never thought she'd accomplish in her

LIFETIME. And even if she WERE to...she hadn't pictured it this way-she hadn't pictured it at all actually. At

least...not this way, not in ten minutes, and especially not with someone like...this. Sun Mi looked up at Seung Ri,

and he smiled, causing her heart to skip a beat.

They danced until every limb of Sun Mi's was numb and she felt like she couldn't move a muscle. She

paused for a bit, hoping none of her sisters were around to see her, and sighed when she saw none of her sister.

Just as she turned around, she noticed...Sun Ye dancing with some guy. They danced so close, it made Sun Mi feel

a little uncomfortable herself. Especially, she noticed, the way they seemed to grind against each other. Her hands

on his biceps; his arms strung around her waist. “Sun Mi, ah,” Seung Ri came up behind her, giving her quite a

startle, “I'm gonna take a break, ok?” “Oh,” she laughed, “arasso.” Just after he was out of sight, Yoo Bin crept

up behind Sun Mi, and practically bombarded her with questions: Who was he? Do you know him? If you do, how

do you know him? If you don't, why were you dancing with him? Why were you dancing with him in the first place?

Why did you dance with him, instead of us? You can DANCE?!

Really, Sun Mi wanted to get out of the place. It was dark, dimmed, cold, loud...NOISY-to be specific,

and most of all, it smelt like alcohol. And crazy things happen, when too much alcohol is drunk.

“Yoo Bin,” Sun Mi didn't bother answering any of the questions. “Yes?” Yoo Bin looked at her, wide-eyed. “I wanna

get out of here.”

“Bo? Wae?”

“I-i just want to.”

“Aw, but i thought you were having fun...!”

“Not really.”

“Ah, but you WERE having fun!”

“Yah, Yoo Bin! Can we just...go? This place is...disturbing...”

“You're kidding, right?”

“Ani! Yoo Bin! I can't stand this smell of too much alcohol!”-so she lies...

“Aish! Arasso! Arasso!” Yoo Bin gave up, “Yah! You are so-”

“Irritating...?” Sun Mi laughed, “Ne, i know, right?”

“You-you- Yah, Sun Mi! I'm NEVER taking you to a bar, EVER again!” Yoo Bin exclaimed. “Fine,” Sun Mi shrugged, “i

have no such interest, whatsoever, to be in a bar...EVER again.” “Okay,” Yoo Bin nodded, “whatever. I'll go get the

rest of them.”
