Impostor [COMPLETED]

Chapter 11

Justin sat at the table and smiled to himself. He thought about the short time that he had spent with Jenny recently. Originally he thought he had missed Amanda, but as the days had passed, he realized that Jenny was the one. He had actually slowly forgotten about Amanda.

Thinking about Jenny, Justin realized that she and Tong Tong had been gone for quite some time. He paid the bill and went to wait for them outside of the ladies room.

“Justin,” a voice called out. It sounded so familiar to him.

He turned his head and was faced with a woman sitting in a wheelchair. She looked pale and haggard. “You are…”

“It’s me Jenny, do you not recognize me? Do I look horrible?” she lifted her hand and touched her face. “I knew I should have waited until my hair grew back before coming to see you. But when I saw you standing here, I….I couldn’t help but call your name.”

“You’re Jenny? Then….”

“I’m sorry for leaving you Justin.” Jenny apologized.

He turned his head back at the closed ladies room door.

“Your Uncle Justin must be waiting for us.” Jenny said as she held Tong Tong’s hand and led her out of the washroom. “We’re ready to go.” She said in a happy tone. He did not reply to her. “Is something wrong Justin?” she asked

He stepped aside and revealed the real Jenny.

“Who is she?” the Jenny sitting in the wheelchair asked.

Justin looked at the woman who stood with Tong Tong by her side. The woman whom he had believed to be Jenny, he looked at her with fury in his eyes, “She’s an impostor!” he screamed.

“Justin, let me explain.” Amanda pleaded. Tears were forming in her eyes. “Listen to me, please…”

“There’s nothing to explain.” He said furiously. “You’ve been lying to me all along.” He shouted.

“Justin.” She held his arm. He pushed her hand off.

“Come on, Tong Tong, let’s go.” He pulled her away.

“But Auntie Amanda.” Tong Tong cried. She ran over and hugged Amanda.

“Tong Tong, we are leaving.” Justin demanded. She shook her head and held onto Amanda tighter.

Amanda ruffled through her hair, “Tong Tong, be a good girl and listen to your Uncle Justin.”

He walked over and pulled Tong Tong away again. “Let’s go Jenny.” He pushed her wheelchair. Tong Tong looked sadly over her shoulder. Amanda nodded at her and motioned her to follow Justin.

They arrived back at Justin’s apartment. He carefully placed his arm under her legs and lifted her out of the wheelchair. Then he set her down on the sofa.

“Justin, who was that woman back at the restaurant? She looked just like me.”

“Let’s not talk about her okay.” He said angrily. Jenny seemed taken back by his hostile tone. He looked away and took a deep breath before turning back to Jenny. “I’m sorry.” He apologized, softening his voice. “I shouldn’t use that tone of voice to speak with you.”

Jenny shook her head, “It’s just, I’ve never seen you this angry.”

He looked at her sincerely in the eye, “tell me, why did you leave?”

“I, I’m sorry.” She apologized. “I discovered that I had cancer and I was afraid I would die. I didn’t want you to see me look horrible. I knew that the chemotherapy would cause my hair to fall out I just didn’t want to scare you, by looking the way I do now.” She looked away from him.

Justin shifted himself in front of her, “Jenny, it was silly of you to leave. Why didn’t you just tell me? That way I could have helped to take care of you, to support you.”

“Do I look really ugly right now Justin?” He shook his head. “You don’t have to lie to me. I know I look awful. I know it.”

Justin took Jenny’s hand into his, “No matter what you look like, you’ll always be beautiful to me and I will always love you.” He emphasized the last few words.

She threw her arms around him, “Justin, I so glad to be back in your arms.”

She curled into fetal position as she wept silently in the dark. His words were true, she was a fake, a fraud, an impostor. Most importantly, she was not the one he loved. She had expected this day to come but she did not expect it to be so soon.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, Amanda dried up her tears, switched on the lights, and went to open the door. “Vivian?”

“Amanda, are you okay?” she asked concernedly. “When Tong Tong got home she wasn’t very clear as to what had happen. She said something about Auntie Jenny actually being Auntie Amanda, and that Justin had scolded you and then left. What happened?”

Amanda walked over to the sofa. Vivian followed closing the door behind her. Amanda shrugged her shoulders, “What happened is I lied to Justin.” Vivian did not understand still. “I’m sorry,” Amanda apologized, “I’m really tired, and I don’t feel like explaining at the moment. If you don’t mind?” Amanda opened the door for Vivian.

“I know you must have your reasons. If you ever want to talk with someone, we’re friends.” Vivian reminded.

She no longer had to pretend to be Jenny Ching, therefore she resumed her identity of Amanda Lok and returned to work at CCI.

“Mr. Cheung, Miss Lok from CCI is here to see you.” Natalie informed.

“Tell her I’m busy.” Justin answered, but before Natalie had the chance to relay Justin’s messaged, Amanda walked in.

“Justin,” she paused. “How are you?”

Justin did not look up at her, “I do not wish to work with CCI anymore.”

“Justin, if this is because of me, then I can get someone else to follow the project. I don’t see why you shouldn’t work with CCI on this project as it would benefit your company greatly. How about I ask Ben to schedule an appointment with Natalie to come in and discuss the details with you?”

Justin gripped his pen tightly. He believed that he was a fair person and that he could tell the difference between work and personal matters. “No, have a seat.”

The conversation between the two did not go smoothly as Justin seemed to disagree with all of Amanda’s ideas. There were no longer moments where they would laugh at each other, but rather dead silence filled the air.

“I don’t think we’re getting anywhere in our discussion. Perhaps we should discuss this another day? Good bye, Mr. Cheung.”

Mr. Cheung. It made him remember the first time they met. How she reminded him of Jenny, but he found out that she was not Jenny. He never imagined that their relationship would end up like this.

Yay, I found some time to update!

You guys are so good at guessing! Yup, the Jenny that couldn’t swim wasn’t Jenny, but rather Amanda. Was Amanda’s return dramatic enough?

Will this be the end of Amanda and Justin? LOL….the story will be ending soon….Maybe 3 more chapters? Feng Shao Fung will make a guest appearance in the either the next chapter or the one following! Stay tune!

sd : Thank you for your comment! Haha, yup, Jenny isn’t the real Jenny. It made absolute sense. Haha, sorry for my confusing-ness…..I tend to be that way.

WaterWonders : It has been a while since I’ve seen you comment here, but you’ve been commenting at M-W forum. Perhaps I will add another twist later….haven’t quite decided yet…lol…..making things up as I go…yup, you are correct that it was Amanda lying and pretending to be Jenny.

my0t1 : Haha, you like my ‘twist’? Nope, not the real Jenny at all! She’s an IMPOSTOR!!! LOL….Yup, I’m pretty much settled….everything here is very simple. I don’t have much except for some DVD’s and my laptop. School started Monday, well not really….it will officially start on the 14th. This is orientation week, but I am technically graded and this week is considered a class worth 2 credit hours.

celes : Haha, you’re planning to stalk Tong Tong so that she could tell you the secret….Haha, Amanda is somewhat a likeable character and quite different, so maybe that’s why so many of you guys like her.

lum : You are absolutely right lum! It was Amanda pretending to be Jenny! And I managed to update again!

melted : What’s Jenny’s secret….well, it’s the fact that she’s not Jenny. Yup, that someone pretending to be Jenny was Amanda. Haha, maybe Amanda’s not as great as you think, since she was not willing to give up Justin and even pretended to be Jenny so that she could stay with him.

lovelygirl06 : Hi! Thanks for your comment! My story is actually Rayolie and not RM. I’ll see if I have time to stop by your in the future. Rather busy lately.

haha08 : What’s Jenny’s secret? LOL…it was Amanda’s secret that she wasn’t Jenny. So what did you think about Amanda’s reappearance?

mystery : Awww….thanks. Jenny is not so sweet? Maybe Amanda’s not as sweet since she pretended to be Jenny. LOL…yup, that wasn’t Jenny!

JenniferLing : Hi! Thanks for the comment! You like Amanda with Justin….seems like most people do, but Justin is rather angry with Amanda at the moment.

triumph sis – thanks for your correction! Yes, It was Amanda pretending to be Jenny and that’s why she got the new haircut. The Amanda that visited her grandmother was the real Amanda.

Tracy sis – Hmmm…will Amanda break Justin and Jenny up….mmm….we’ll see….haha, it was Amanda pretending to be Jenny so Jenny did not come back for a particular reason…or did she….lol…

Nachos_ger sis – yup, Amanda pretended to be Jenny, so that was the secret.

MistyK – Yes, I’ve adapted pretty well, the only big difference is the temp is slightly warmer, the traffic a bit worse, and the gas prices slightly higher…but everyone is very nice and I like it here.

PinkAngel sis – The real Jenny does have an illness, but not the ‘other’ Jenny. She was only Amanda pretending to be Jenny. Yes, I am making my story have some TDOL elements.
