Chapter 2

He smiled, “I knew it was you who sent all the gifts. I’ve missed you so much Jenny. Where have you been?”

Amanda furrowed her brows, “Mr. Cheung, I’ll admit I was the one who sent the gifts to you.”

“I knew it.” He said triumphantly.

“I think you’ve mistaken Mr. Cheung, what I meant was, I was captivated by you when I saw you at the conference two weeks ago.”

“Conference two weeks ago?”

“Let me get to the point, I am a straight forward person, and if I like someone then I will take initiative. As for this Jenny that you keep referring too, it is not me nor do I know who she is.”

“Stop playing with me Jenny.”

“Mr. Cheung, I’ll make it clear to you for the last time, my name is Amanda Lok and not Jenny.” She reached into her purse, pulled out her wallet and handed Justin her identification card.

He read the name and knew Amanda had not lied, “But you look just like my girlfriend, Jenny.” Justin also pulled out his wallet and showed Amanda a picture of him and Jenny. Amanda was shocked by the resemblance. “I’m sorry for mistaking you as her.” He apologized.

Amanda shook her head, “I think I would have too if I were you. She looks just like me.”

The two stood in silence unsure what to say to each other. Finally, Amanda broke the silence, “I have some work to finish, so I better head back to my office. I’ll see you next week.” She gave him a smile.

“Next week?” Justin was still unable to get past the concept that Amanda looked like Jenny, but was not Jenny.

“To sign the contract.” Amanda reminded.

“Right, yes, the contract., I’ll see you then.” Justin saw Amanda to the elevator. “I’ll see you again next week Miss Lok.” He gave her a handshake.

Amanda nodded, “We’ll be seeing more of each other starting after next week. Just call me Amanda.”

“Do you think it would be better if we changed it to this Justin?” Amanda asked.

He read her idea and took it into consideration. “Not bad.” Justin got up from the table, which he and Amanda had been seated at to work, and walked to his desk. He started looking around, but could not seem to be able to find what he was looking for.

“It’s the blue folder behind you.” Amanda told him. Justin turned and found exactly what he was looking for.

He returned to his seat by Amanda, “How did you know what I was getting?”

“Justin, we’ve been working together on a daily basis, have you counted the number of times we’ve called each other over the past month?” Justin and Amanda had gotten into the habit of calling each other when ever they had a new idea or thought of a better concept. “I’d be surprise if we couldn’t read each others minds by now.”

It amazed Justin the amount of compatibility they had built in just one short month. “I suppose you are right. I spend more time talking with you then I do with anyone else, including my entire family combined.” Amanda chuckled as his comment. Looking at his watch, Justin realized the time, “Wow, it is so late already. How about we go to dinner?” Amanda nodded.

After they had been seated and ordered their food. Amanda started some casual conversation, “I like your tie.” She complimented and giggled.

Justin looked down to see which tie he had worn and he too laughed, “If I’m not mistaken this was from you.”

“Too bad I couldn’t go to that dinner. I had the prefect dress to match with that tie.”

It was Amanda’s reminder that caused Justin to subconsciously blush. He recalled the tie as a gift from his ‘secret admirer’. “I never thanked you for all your gifts. Dinner will be on me tonight.” He insisted.

“Only a dinner in exchange for my gifts?” Amanda teased. She saw a worried look appear on Justin’s face. “I was only joking. No need to be so serious.”

Justin placed a smile on his face, “No, you’re absolutely right. This dinner really isn’t enough to repay you for your gifts. How about being my partner for the charity ball this coming Friday? It’ll give you a chance to wear your dress.”

“Sorry to disappoint you but I cannot attend that evening as I will be out of town.”

Since the departure of Jenny, Justin had never asked anyone ‘out’. Who would have guess that he would get rejected for his first ‘date’. “You’re going out of town? You didn’t tell me earlier.”

“Oh, I didn’t realize I need to make a public announcement that I was going to be away.” Amanda joked. “Or did you just want me to report to you my daily activities?”

“We are friends after all; I always tell my friends when I will be out of town.”

“Well, I will be going to visit my grandmother this weekend and I will be back on Tuesday.”

“Thank you for letting me know, I guess I will see you then.”

“Mr. Cheung, you have a package.” Natalie handed him the box. Justin entered his office, un-wrapped the box, and found a note.

……………’Just wanted to let you know it will be another two days before I return.
…………………………………………Amanda aka Your secret admirer.’

Justin could not help but smile. He looked inside the box and found a packet of seeds. Underneath the seeds was another note,

…………………‘A prize is waiting for you if you can guess where I am.’

He pondered a bit trying to figure out where she may be, when he phone rang. “Have you gotten it yet?”

“Thank you for your present.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

“As for your location….”

“You haven’t figured out yet?” Amanda laughed. Justin knitted his brow as the sound seemed so much closer than through his phone. He got up and walked out of his office.

Justin smiled seeing Amanda standing in front of him. “I thought you said you wouldn’t be back for another two days?”

“Change of plans, did you not want to see me.” Amanda asked.

“No, actually, I was just about to call you for your opinion.”

“I just got home and you’re already putting me to work.” Amanda joked.

“I…no…if you are busy then…”

“I was only kidding.” She assured him. “Why don’t we go into your office to discuss?” The two sat down and Amanda set a bag on Justin’s desk. “These are for you.”

“What is it?” Justin asked as he peaked into the bag and found some squashes and leafy green vegetables.

“It’s your present. My grandmother lives in the country side and grows her own vegetables. I picked some for you.”

“Ah, now I understand the seeds earlier. It was a clue to tell me where you were. Tell your grandmother thank you next time you see her.” Amanda nodded and the two got to work.

triumph : thanks for the comment sis! Haha….hope it wasn’t too confusing with the whole name change. Do you like the names I made up for the characters?

haha08 : Yup, another story from me. I see that you have started another story. It’s really good! I can’t wait to read more!

BBgirl : Hey BBgirl! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Thanks for the comment!

melted : The secret admirer was Amanda. Lol…nothing fishy about her…..I just wanted her to wear the sunglasses (like the really large squarish ones that would cover a large portion of her face) so that Ray couldn’t see her face at first and when she pushed them up he would be very surprise that she looked like Jenny. .

carin : yup, I’m getting old and can’t remember things as well…jk….yes, a female secret admirer….Ray sure is lucky, right. I’m glad you like the twist!

incognito : Thanks for the correction! I fixed it, but if you spot it again, please do let me know. I tend to type my chapters late at night before bed and somehow I get things all mixed up…lol….You got it right, it was Amanda. Haha….I imagined it to be that way too!

mystery : My story is so mysterious to go with your name mystery! Haha….will try to start having some Rayolie kisses soon! Very cute how you refer to Myo as Myo1 and Myo2.

Liz sis – My handwriting pretty? LOL…I’ve never heard of that one….my lecture notes are usually so messy that I can’t even read them. Jenny and Amanda won’t be the same person….lol….

MistyK – hope the name changes will become less confusing later on. But it kinda gets me too sometimes when I am typing because I am so used to typing Myolie and Raymond’s name.

nachos_ger – I thought it would be cute to make little notes to go with it. Hihi…you’ll just have to wait until Jenny comes back out for you to find out why she left.

AM – Thanks for the compliment! Oh, you couldn’t see my handwriting part….well I’ll let you know what the notes said

1. ‘Hey handsome, hope you have a great day. – Your secret admirer’
2. ‘Wishing you a sweet day. – Your secret admirer.’
3. ‘Maybe we will meet at the Wong’s Annual Dinner tonight. – Your secret admirer’
4. ‘Sorry, I was unable to make it to the dinner last night. I came down with the flu. The weather has changed, make sure you take care of your health as well. – Your secret admirer.’

I guess so, because in the past I haven’t noticed you reading too many of the fics here….or maybe we just don’t read the same ones. But I am happy that you are reading this one! I think you are the first guy to read one of my stories. Hopefully, it won’t be too girly.

hkangel sis – Glad you like the handwritten notes. Yes, there will be Rayolie kisses. LOL….to make up for no kisses in TDOL…shall I make one where Ray eats too much garlic before their kiss….haha….

joyce sis – I think I am writing too much too….starting to feel overwhelm and not sure which one to update….lol….Nope, Amanda and Jenny are two different people. Amanda is eagerly pursuing….and Justin seems to be going along pretty will with her….

Tracy sis – Aww….thanks for reading! You’re just too sweet! Glad you enjoyed the first chapter!
