“Great, I’ll see you when you get here.” Justin hung up the phone.
Together they quickly reviewed the problem and their options. They finally come up with an alternative solution. Amanda pulled out some files from her briefcase, “Sorry, if I hadn’t been sick all last week, we wouldn’t be so behind schedule right now.” She said as she used a tissue to wipe her nose.
“Nonsense, don’t try to put all the blame on yourself.” He gave her a smile.
Amanda nodded, “Why don’t we go over the details for the function.”
Justin looked at his watch, “I’ll be right back; I’m going to get a drink of water.” He excused himself. Amanda nodded and continued to look over her notes.
Justin returned minutes later, “Dinner is served.” He announced as he stood in the doorway of his office.
Amanda lifter her head and looked at him, “Dinner?”
“Come on,” he led her to the kitchenette where he had their meal set up on the small circular table.
“When and where did you get all this?” Amanda asked as she was amazed by all the food there.
“I made it magically appear.” He joked. “Actually, I called take-out when you went to the washroom earlier.” He admitted.
They had some casual conversation over their meal. “You have something at the corner of your mouth.” Justin picked up his napkin to wipe it off.
“No, it’s still there.” Amanda laughed.
Justin continued to wipe, “Did I get it yet?”
Amanda shook her head and took her napkin, dipped it in her cup of water and gently wiped it off for him, “All handsome now.”
Justin blushed, Amanda was definitely different from Jenny but at the same time very much the same. Amanda could be bold and daring, taking initiative in things, yet she was also gently and kind.
“Is there something on my face now?” Amanda asked. Justin shook his head, “Then why are you staring at me like that?”
“Nothing, I was just thinking.”
“Thinking of how much I look like your girlfriend.” She could see the sorrow in his eyes, “What happened to her?”
“She had an argument with me and then suddenly she just vanished one day.” He got up from his seat, “It’s getting late. I’ll take you home.” Justin offered being the gentleman that he was.
Justin put his car in reverse as Amanda told him her address. He stepped on the breaks, “Where did you say again?”
Amanda repeated the apartment name. Justin froze. “Is something wrong?” she asked.
“No, I was just thinking the best way to get there.”
They stopped at a red light. Justin looked over and observed Amanda’s action as she continued to twirl, the diamond stud earring she wore. He could tell she was busy thinking about something. Jenny used to do that whenever something bothered her.
The radio played a song, “I love this song.” Amanda exclaimed as she snapped out of her deep thoughts. She hummed to the melody, making Justin wonder, why was it that suddenly tonight, everything about her seemed to remind him of Jenny? Her actions, her words, it almost seemed like Jenny was by his side once again. .
“I’ll walk you inside.” Justin offered as he parked his car. Amanda nodded and waited for Justin to open the door for her.
As they stepped into the elevator, Justin began to wonder which floor Amanda lived on. He did not have to guess as he saw her push the number six button. “You live in 6A?” he asked.
She looked at him with a smile, “How did you know.”
“That’s Jenny’s old apartment.” He whispered.
“Hmmm….”
“Oh, it was a lucky guess.” He lied.
“Well, I’m here, would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?”
His curiosity got the better of him as he wanted to go inside to see the apartment. It had been over three years now since he last entered. “Sure” he agreed. Justin entered the once familiar apartment which has become unrecognizable to him now. The interior design and layout was completely different. Amanda’s taste was much more elegant and high class compared to Jenny’s spontaneous style.
“Have a seat” Amanda motioned towards the white leather couch. “I’ll go make us some coffee.” A few minutes later she returned not with the coffee but instead, two wine glasses and a bottle of red wine. “I’m out of coffee, will this do?” Justin accepted the drink. “Cheers” Amanda said with a smile.
“To what might we be toasting to?” Justin asked.
“The start of you and me” she whispered seductively into Justin’s ear.
“Amanda, I think you’ve mistaken….” Before he could say anymore, Amanda had already put her lips on his and kissed him. Justin responded back to her kiss, and it became heated and passionate. “I better go” he got up nervously and headed straight towards the door.
“Wait,” she tried to call after him. She started to laugh uncontrollably, “You don’t have to leave in such a hurry. I won’t eat you.” She continued to laugh, “Hey, you forgot your phone.” But by that time Justin was already long gone.
Amanda’s phone rang; she narrowed her brows as she knew it would be unpleasant. She hung up abruptly after the caller had finish. She let out a sigh; the call had left her rather unhappy and damped her mood.
She picked up Justin’s cell phone, running her finger around the edges of it, she smiled. His shyness after the kiss was priceless. She took a picture with his phone and set it to show up when she called. She even left a voice message on his phone. “Hey Handsome, hope you are having a sweet day.” She listened to it and giggled, “I wonder if he’ll find this.”

She entered Justin’s office and saw the guilty look on his face. She wanted to tease him and make him relax but instead she walked forward and set the cell phone on his desk, “I believe you left this last night. I tried to call after you, but you left rather hastily.” She pulled a piece of paper out from her purse, “You had a total of seven phone calls since last night, two last night from a Mr. Kwok with K&K Management, I missed three this morning when I was in the shower, one was from Ms. Leung, and the other was from your sister, who wanted me to ask you if you would be home for dinner.”
Justin gave her a smile, “You would do great as a secretary. Thanks for bringing my phone back.”
“It’s not a problem. Sorry if I scared you last night.”
“No, I should be the one to apologize for running out like that. It is just” he paused, “I don’t think I’m ready to start a relationship.”
“Is it because I look like her?” Amanda asked calmly.
“No….I…I don’t know. I have feelings for you, but I’m afraid those are just my feelings for Jenny resurfacing.”
Amanda shrugged her shoulders as though nothing had happened, “its okay, I understand. We’re adults and I trust that we can leave things at that. Don’t worry, its already forgotten.”
“The apartment you live in now, it happens to be where Jenny used to live.”
“I know.” Amanda admitted. “When I first moved in, some of her old neighbors had mistaken me for her.”
Justin let out a soft chuckle, “Even I did the first time we met. I still can’t believe two people could look just alike.”

Thanks for everyone’s concern about my finger. It is okay now…but I wouldn’t mind cutie Justin giving my boo-boo a kiss. Hope you liked the kiss in this chapter. I think you all will like the next chapter. I’ll try to write it over the weekend!
