He had picked up the phone to call her several times, but never once did he succeed in calling. He thought of several silly excuses but did not have the guts to use any of them.
“Uncle Justin, when is Auntie Amanda coming over again?” Tong Tong asked over dinner.
“I’m not sure pumpkin.” He answered sadly.
“You two get in a fight?” Vivian asked, but Justin did not answer.

“Mr. Cheung, you got an invitation to a dinner. Do you plan to attend?” Justin looked at the invitation and thought of the chance of coming across Amanda at the event.
He nodded, “RSVP for me Natalie.”

Justin looked through his wardrobe deciding what to wear to the dinner that evening. He came across the tie that Amanda had sent him.
“Partner-less again Justin?” Bosco Wong asked. Justin gave him a polite smile. “Then you better be jealous of me. I have the most gorgeous date tonight.” He boasted.
“Oh really?” Justin had a hint of disbelief. “And where might she be right now? Don’t tell me she dumped you this early in the evening?”
“Very funny Justin, she went to the washroom. I’ll introduce you to her when she gets back.” They chatted about their business. “Here she comes.” Bosco waved to her. Justin turned to see Bosco’s date. He was surprise to see her. “Justin, this is Amanda Lok.”
She present him with a smile, “Justin, how are you.” He returned the smile, only his was wider. He finally had a chance to see the dress that she did not have a chance to wear. He understood what she meant about them matching and stealing the spotlight. If only she was his date instead.
“You two know each other?” Bosco was slightly disappointed.
“Quite well, in fact, Justin and I just collaborated together on a project not too long ago.” Justin remained quiet. “I see Mr. Poon and Mr. Tung over there Bosco.” Amanda noted, “Excuse us.” She said and walked away, arm linked with Bosco.
Justin watched the entire night as Bosco would wrap his arm around Amanda’s waist and shoulder. He even saw him stroking her bareback. Justin clenched his fist, but reminded himself that he was the one who had given up the opportunity.
Justin exited the ballroom when he heard two familiar voices.
“Please respect yourself, Mr. Wong.” Amanda began to walk away
“Hey!” Bosco angrily grabbed hold of Amanda’s wrist. He pushed her against the wall and attempted to kiss her again.
“Didn’t you hear her? She said let go.”
“This doesn’t concern you Justin.” Bosco warned.
Justin punched Bosco, grabbed Amanda’s hand, and took off running for their lives. Justin kept a firm grip on Amanda’s hand as they continued to run. Finally they stopped by the beach.
Amanda smiled and pulled off her heels. She ran towards the sand that was shimmering under the moonlight. She took a seat, closed her eyes and took in the salty sea smell, let the night breezes hit her skin, and listened to the waves crashing onto the shore.
Justin walked up from behind and wrapped his jacket over Amanda’s bare shoulders, “It is chilly tonight.” He noted as he took a seat next to her.
“I didn’t expect you to do that back there.”
“Seeing Bosco trying to take advantage of you, I just had the urge to go punch him. I wanted to protect you.” Justin confessed.
“Thanks….” She responded. An awkward silence followed.
“Amanda….”
“Don’t worry Justin, I won’t mistake your actions.”
“Amanda, I….”
“Really, Justin, you don’t have to explain. I still remember your rejection last time.” She forced a chuckle before giving him a smile. At that moment, Justin hated himself. Amanda stood up, “It’s really late; we should get going. Will you give me a ride?” she asked as she began to walk away.
Justin stared at her back for an instant before he called her, “Amanda, wait.” he grabbed hold of her arm. She turned around to look at him. He eliminated the gap between them by taking a step closer to her. Placing his hand at the nape of her neck, he initiated a kiss between them.
Their kiss on the beach ended up in Justin’s bedroom. Amanda helped Justin unbutton his shirt, while he helped to unzip her dress. It seemed like a competition of who could complete their task quicker. Almost not once did their lips part from each other.
When Justin woke up the following morning he found Amanda not by his side. He got dress and walked out of his room. In the kitchen, he found Amanda standing there wearing one of his dress shirt with a pair of his boxer shorts. He chuckled at her appearance.
She turned around upon hearing his laughter. In one hand she held a spatula while the other had a frying pan. “You’re up.” She gave him a bright smile.
He walked over and hugged her from behind, “I thought you left already.” He started rocking them in a back and forth motion.
“Were you afraid that I wouldn’t take responsibility for my actions last night?” Amanda joked. “Don’t worry, I am a very dependable person.” She continued to kid.
Justin held her tighter, “I was afraid you would leave me a….” he stopped himself. He almost said the word again.
“Let’s eat breakfast, it is getting cold.” Amanda pulled Justin to the table. He piled half of his breakfast back on Amanda’s plate. “What are you doing?” she frowned. “You haven’t even tasted my cooking and you are already not willing to eat it.”
“No, it’s not that, but look at yourself, I’m already considered skinny, but when you wear my shirt, look at all the space.” Justin stretched the shirt out, “I have to make you eat more and gain some more weight. I can’t have my girlfriend looking so thin that she’ll fly away. People will think I’m not feeding you.”
Amanda stuck her tongue out at Justin, “Fine, I’ll eat it all so you won’t get any.”

Been watching TDOL recently and all the sad Rayolie has gotten me quite depressed so I figured I should write a happy Rayolie chapter to cheer myself up :) I know a majority of us are anticipating Tai Chi (in particular the *cough cough* bed scene)….lol, so I think this chapter is as close to a bed scene as I could give you guys! Hope you guys liked it!
Sam – Do you think Amanda has something planned….Amanda and Jenny are two different people, that I can tell you for sure. I’m glad you are enjoying the story.

MistyK – I’m trying to update as soon as I can lately because in the next few weeks I have so much going on…..scheduled for work, still finishing up my classes and I have to pack as I will be moving soon….and then the start of school again….
BBgirl – Hey! I quite like Amanda’s personality if I may say so myself. I kinda want to see Myolie portray a character like Amanda’s one day. How did you like this kiss? Ray wasn’t running away this time!!!!
