Morning air filled my lungs, waking me up with sweet vanilla scent. I opened my eyes and saw her lying beside me. If every morning could be like this, if every start would begin with this smell…Could I keep going on forever?
I brushed her soft skin, as if I would just touched silk laces… She always looked the same, just like the day I first saw her: always charming, yet fragile and lost. Why is it you always have to run away, dear? Why does it feels like I’m trying to catch a nightingale, that won’t sing for her thief, that will fly away whenever I’ll open the window?
I stood up from warm bed and took a shower.
Ice cold water drops ached my skin at first, but as dribbles became weak stream, my body got use to it. It was hard to think of past weeks. Life was getting too much of a paradox. I knew I’m the one who won the battle, but what was it I’m still fighting for? What if there actually are no winners in war, because we all are doomed to be wounded after all?
My father up in heaven, did you ever know love? Love that can tear apart? I’m going to have a child, father, you’ll be grandpa. Are you proud of me? Are you happy to know your son will not be lonely anymore; he won’t be alone, right…?
I turned the tap off and now water was dripping just from my wet hair. I wrapped myself in towel, which seemed so warm, that goose bumps on my skin disappeared instantly. I was happy that everyone was still asleep, because I could make breakfast calmly by myself. Since I didn’t want to leave her alone, because of my tight schedule, practically all the time was spend in the dorm with boys, and believe me, it was hard to get such peaceful moments. Despite that, it wasn’t much of a pleasure to stay alone with my thoughts.

-Ah, good morning, Changmin, you startled me. Next time make it more known when your scary expression will show up, - I said smiling to him, even if a joke somehow seemed played on me.

What I should have said, that I’m tired from fighting this invisible battle with him, from him, who makes my every victory a defeat.
