Today is the day. My 26 birthday. The day an angel came down from the heavens by a drop of rain droplet. Ever since 070193, it rained every first of July. It would rain either the morning, afternoon, or even in the evening. It's so wierd how I say that an angel came that day from a droplet of rain and from that day on, it would rain.
Today is 070109, the first of July, and I was expecting the rain to come so I woke up early in the morning only to be greeted by the sunlight. I looked around and there were no sign of any clouds. I couldn't find any dark, fluffy cotton floating around the sky which made me disappointed. It's funny because people get disappointed when it rains on their birthday but as for me, I wanted it to rain. At least one drop of rain, so I could know that an angel has came down from heaven. I was still looking out the window until I heard a little muffling behind me.
"Leeteuk, why are you so up early?" It was my one and only Kangin.
"I just wanted to get some fresh air." I said while pointing to the bright, sunny sky.
"Oh. Well let's get back to sleep. We have couple schedules so we would need our sleep and after that we could celebrate your birthday." Kangin mumbled while sticking his hand out for me to grab.
I grabbed it and followed him back to our room smiling a little. Even though it didn't rain at least we were still going to celebrate my birthday.
"Wake up! Wake up!"
I was in my nice dreamland until I heard some shouting and some talking.
"Sungmin hyung, Eunhyuk hyung you're not going wake hyung up like that." A rather deep voice said out.
"But Kyuhyun, he needs to wake up so we could have a party!" Sungmin said with a little whine in his voice.
"I'll wake him up so you guys go and get ready." Another deep voice said and I knew exactly who it was.
"Teukie, wake up," he whispered in my ear.
I opened my eyes and found my big teddy bear in front of me. I jumped and hugged him right away.
"Kangin!"
"Whoa. Somebody is a little jumpy." Kangin chuckled," Come on, we still have our cf with us and you have to go do your radio." (and yes kangin is the teddy bear^^)
Couple of hours later, we were done with our kyochon chicken cf and the others right away went back to the dorm. As for Eunhyuk and I had to go to our radio station. Luckily our PD said Kiss the Radio would end a little early so we could go home and celebrate my birthday. During our radio talk, Eunhyuk congratulated me which made me bring up on how every birthday of mine, it would always rain.
"So you're saying that every first of July, it rains." Eunhyuk asked while laughing.
"Well I don't know about every but ever since the day I was born," I continued," and do you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because an angel has came down from heaven and that angel is me." I said while grinning proudly.
"How about today?" The question that made my smile turn down. That question somehow made me feel so invisible. It took me a while to respond to him but I still managed to.
"Well I don't know about today."
Eunhyuk must have noticed the sad expression I had so he tried to cheer me up by letting the fans congratulate a 'Happy Birthday' to me. Only thing I could have done was to plaster a smile on my face and wave to them repeating 'Thank You' over and over again. One hour and a half past and we were leaving the station. While on the ride home, I kept looking up at the sky trying to look for at least one bit of a cloud but still nothing. Once we got home, everyone yelled, "SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEETEUK HYUNG!"
Everyone came up to me giving me hugs and teasing about my age. I laughed at their jokes and the last person to come up to me was Kangin.
"Happy birthday." He sang out giving me his cheesy smile.
"Thanks." I mumbled a little.
From the man who knew me so well asked," What's wrong?"
I quickly shook my head and gave him my dimple smile insisting that there wasn't anything wrong with me. However, from a stubborn man he is he threatened," Leeteuk tell me what's wrong or else."
"Im just tired." I gave out a loud sigh.
Kangin just shrugged and we both made our way to the living room where everyone was getting ready with the cake. We all sang 'Happy Birthday' and ate our dinner together. I was glad and touched with everyone here to celebrate my birthday but I had to get some fresh air so I snuck out quietly.
"It's now time for cake!" Ryeowook shouted jumping up and down for the yummy looking fruit cake.
"Hey where is hyung anyway?" Kibum the quick one asked.
"Kangin hyung is gone too." Donghae said while panicking.
{Outside the dorm/ on the rooftop}
I was looking up at the sky,deep in my thoughts, sighing here and then until someone sat next to me.
"It didn't rain today." He said. Like I said he knew me too well.
"Yeah I guess it didn't." I agreed putting my head down.
"You want to talk about it?" He suggested while letting my head lay on his broad shoulders. I didn't talk for a while except for some more sighing until I finally began.
"Kangin do you ever feel as if there is something part of you that makes you, you?"
"I guess."
"And that something means a lot to you until one day it isn't there and you feel as if you are missing a part of yourself?"
Kangin cupped my face so we were facing each other eye to eye.
"Even though that something didn't come today, you are still an angel that came from the heavens and you don't need the rain for you to know that." Kangin answered in a hush tone.
Tears were streaming down my face from the words that were brought up to ear. Kangin wiped my tears away with his thumb and slowly we both closed the gap between our face. Couple of seconds past and I staring deeply at his firm yet caring eyes. I didn't want anything to ruin our moment until something tiny yet able to see came down between our faces and landed on the palm of my hand. We both looked down and saw a water droplet softly glistening on my hand. It wasn't from my tears so I looked up at the sky. I looked back down at the drop, smiling as wide as possible. I shifted my gaze up again, meeting it with Kangin and he was smiling as wide as possible too. We both knew what it meant.
"Thank you." I whispered to Kangin as he gave me another gentle kiss.
We both gazed back up again at the dark blue sky sprinkled with millions of twinkling stars and with a full moon gracefully smiling down upon us.
Today was the day. My 26 birthday. The day when an angel came down from the heavens by a drop of rain. The angel that is me.
