I'm sorry T.T but if anyone is still reading this I hope you enjoy it. I have this bad habit of writing in large gaps. Super awesome message at the bottom of the chapter =D

Mao saw her captor enter once more, a box lay heavy in his hands locking the door behind him. Mao cursed her handcuffs.
She couldn’t help but imagine that it was a cake inside, and if it was this was getting far too dangerous. He must be stalking her.
What if-
No she couldn’t think that. She had to go up to that room now. She stood up cautiously.
"Okaeri!~" She teased smiling and he looked at her as if she’d gone mad."What’s in the box Kidnapper?"
"Nothing that concerns you." He said shortly moving past her quickly to his den that was adjoined to the living room. Mao sat down gingerly back on the couch.
It was quite obviously not a cake. Why on earth would her kidnapper even care about her birthday? Why would he even know about it?
She didn’t even know why she was making such a big deal about it. She lay back down on the couch. Maybe her birthday would be better in her dreams.

"Toma, I’m- I’m not sure what it is we can do. In this situation, there’s almost nothing." Shota said honestly as he drove them away from the office. All afternoon Toma had stayed locked in his office, refusing to take meetings with anyone and when he’d let Maki in at the end of the day she’d seen the small bottle of vodka he kept hidden behind the filing cabinet empty. She’d warned him and Shota had agreed that today Toma wasn’t being emotionally stable. They’d agreed that Shota would drive him home.
"Anyways, lets just get you home, and you can rest so you can think straigh-"
"Shota isn’t Mao your best friend?" Toma said interrupting him and while the boy might be a bit drunk he looked as if he had never been more conscious in his life. Shota turned away from the road for a moment to nod.
"Of course."
"Then you of all people should have some semblance of what I’m feeling right now and you would not ask me to go home and ‘rest up’. My girlfriend is out there, god knows where having god knows what happen to her and I just found out now. It’s been a week since I last heard from her and I didn’t have the sense to ask before. Stop this from happening somehow." Toma paused in his rant and turned towards the road. The wide expanse shaking him to his core.
He was scared, Mao, his Mao could be anywhere right now crying herself to sleep, waiting for someone anyone to come rescue her. She was alone.
"We’re not going to my house." He decided and Shota turned towards the matured Toma with shocked eyes.
"Where are we going then?"
"I have a friend who can help us with this situation. Once we meet up with him we’ll call Mao’s father and mother so we can all strategically come up with the best way to end this as quickly as possible." Toma spoke with all seriousness and Shota couldn’t help but be in awe of the guy who looked ridiculously funny usually. He’d never seen him so serious.
"Toma...you’re really serious about her aren’t you?" Shota felt the boy in him get possessive over Mao, unrighteous as it was. He felt his spirits dampen seeing that now someone else got the chance to take care of his best friend, someone he’d been responsible for, for so long.
"Shota, do you want to know what I got her for her birthday?" Toma returned to his more soft-spoken voice, when Shota flicked his eyes to his friend he saw that he was dreaming. His eyes were closed, and his body relaxed into the front seat, a pleased expression gracing the face Mao had always loved so intensely.
"What?"
"An engagement ring."

Jun walked back to the room. Everything was set up for tomorrow. He’d gone to alter the security guards over the museum on the golden flower exhibition, hacked into the security system making sure the way for Inoue Shun would be clear. The true royal clothing that was in the secret city had been released to Japan for exactly one day.
Tomorrow he would make sure that Inoue Shun was never the same individual in the public eye as he was depicted to be. He had seen how Junno had looked today and apologized profusely for having him go through with it but Junno heard none of it from him, saying he was glad to help Jun in the least with his revenge upon the man. Jun had felt so much anger when he’d seen his friend, but at least his friend hadn’t died. Shun had resolved his ways in this manner.
He looked around the room expecting bitchy comments but found none finding their way towards him.
He looked to her slouched form, curled into the fetal position on the couch. She chose to sleep here he expected so that when he went to bed at night she wouldn’t have to creep out of the room and she could find an escape route.
Less distance, less chance of being caught.
The house was sealed tight, from all corners. He had trapped her here.
But she wouldn't believe him even if he told her so.
He walked to go sit in front of her and observe his captive with interest. She was looking far less lively today, and perhaps as the days would go on she would lose the spark that he had seen when she first woke up here.
"Toma." This man she mentioned him a lot didn’t she? He must be her boyfriend, Jun decided. No doubt someone Inoue Shun had met, approved of and then signed his daughter off to. No doubt someone who was incredibly influential. He saw her hands; he’d cuffed them last night in the front of her body.
"Wake up." He couldn’t help but start. He’d remembered her words when she’d shown up in the house. She’d thought he was a stripper. The idea still made the tiniest hints of a smile float onto his face. At least the street had done him good in letting him have a killer body.
Mao found she was staring into her kidnapper’s eyes. In her sleepy haze she allowed herself to look at him. His features were almost angelic. The sole light hanging above them lighting the room, lit his face in a way that made her look at him as her savior. His features twisted into Toma’s and that was when she realized she was tired.
She got up slowly sitting up again. She wondered how on earth someone like him had gotten corrupt? No one woke up one day and said they wanted to be a kidnapper. Before pity set in though she remembered her situation and her eyes hardened. "What is it?" She bit out carefully.
"I brought you something to eat. You haven’t eaten all day." And from what I remember you used to really like these. He added in his mind but didn’t dare say out loud. The moment she made the connection between them, his cover would be blown.
That he could not afford.
"It’s a cake."
"Well isn’t today your birthday?" Her eyes shot up looking at him with renewed curiosity.
"Oh I see what this is. You thought I’d celebrate it with you. We’d have a good old bonding session and of course it’d be the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!" She yelled it out. The fact that he knew somehow made her feel vulnerable. "Eat your fucking cake. I don’t want it." She wasn’t sure why but she saw the slightest hints of hurt in his eyes and then his eyes hardened in a way she hadn’t seen yet.
Immediately fear set in as he got up and entered the kitchen. She prayed silently. That at least if she died today, she would try to be at peace. She would make sure her captor would suffer for killing her, and she’d try and make her parents friendlier towards each other. So they could help each other through her dea- passing. Lastly she would try and find Toma someone...she knew how much he loved her, she knew without her help he’d probably never get over her
He sat down in front of her, a knife glinting in his hands. Jun saw the way her fear let itself out slightly when her eyes took in the point of the knife and slowly she averted her eyes closing them. He saw the way she struggled in making her hands stop shaking.
She thought he was going to kill her. That killing her today would bring him some sick form of pleasure. Seeing the way she shook under his gaze made him feel disgusted with himself. What was he doing to her? It made him feel as inhumane as he knew her father was.
He couldn’t help it. He came up beside her on the couch, sliding extremely close to her, pushing her hair behind her ear as he took her hand in his slipping the knife into hers as he made her hand move forward. If possible she shook more, her eyes shut tightly. He wanted to wrap his other arm around her but he controlled himself.
She wasn’t that girl anymore, and he sure as hell wasn’t that boy. Still, he wasn’t going to make a girl suffer and he saw that when the knife touched the cake and slid through it her eyes shot open.
He wasn’t stupid enough to leave the knife with her. She’d probably cause him irreparable damage and that he could not afford, not when they were so close. So he made sure he held onto her hand with such force there was no way she could escape his grasp and hurt him with the knife.
When he felt the knife hit the bottom of the cake, he made her hand lift it and cut into the cake again making a triangle.
With that he lifted the knife out of her grasp again and lifted the piece of cake and took her shocked expression to his advantage shoving as much of the cake as he could into her mouth. The icing was left all over her mouth. He trailed his thumb across her lips as she sat looking at him with the most confused expression as he took his thumb into his mouth and licked all the icing he’d collected off her.
"Good cake isn’t it?" She could only nod wordlessly he saw. In three minutes he was sure when she realized the entire exchange had been a little extraordinary hopefully she would start yelling again. He cut half of the cake into bite sized portions she could pick up wither her cuffed wrists.
He leaned into her ear, letting his breath touch her hair before speaking softly again.
"Happy Birthday Mao-chan. I would never forget. Now eat up before I actually decide to stab you."
And the look of stricken fear, amazement and shock on her face left him laughing all the way back into his den.
