(Monday – Hospital – night)
JOE: Have you called Roger? Why is he still not here?
ADA: I have! He says he is rushing over from his workplace!
JOE: Still working at such an hour?
ADA: Overtime I presume…
JOE: I’ll make a trip to the washroom first… (walks away)
ROGER: (rushing in) Hey, Ada, is Flora ok?
ADA: The doctor says she’s anaemic and needs more rest. Just need to stay over for a night for observation. She’s in the ward now. (Roger moves away, Ada saw someone) Jess? Why are you here?
ROGER: Eh… we were working overtime at KK, and when I got your call, Jess just conveniently followed me to here.
JESSICA: (smiles) Yup, I’m worried about Flora too! (to Roger) Can we go in and see her?
ROGER: Sure!
ADA: (pulling Jessica's hand) Eh… Jess, can I have a talk with you?
JESSICA: (looking at her, then at Roger) Roger, you’ll go in first, I’ll join you later!
ROGER: Ok. (going into ward)

(ward)
ROGER: (walking by her side) Flora, how are you feeling?
FLORA: (coldly) Why are you here?
ROGER: (innocently) Why shouldn’t I be here?
FLORA: Aren’t you supposed to be with Jess?
ROGER: Flora! I told you we were just working. We have a project that is…
FLORA: (butts in) Urgent! Right? Can’t you have a better reason?
ROGER: What’s with you? You were never jealous of her like that!
FLORA: If there’s nothing between you and her, why must you lie that you were in the office when I saw you two dining happily on Friday night? And you told me you weren’t free to have dinner with me!
ROGER: I… I just don’t want you to misunderstand us and think the wrong way!
FLORA: Yeah right! Can’t you come up with a better excuse? Lame! Do you know?
ROGER: (gasping indignantly) Hey Flora! Can you just learn to control your emotions a little? (raising his voice) I told you there is nothing between us!
FLORA: (sobbing) You never scream at me like you’re doing now! You’ve changed!
ROGER: (holding her hand) I have not! I am still the me in the past, now, and will be in future! Why don’t you believe me? Why can’t you hear my explanation first?
FLORA: (shaking off his hand) I don’t want to hear your voice again!
ROGER: Flora… (begging) Please… can you calm down and listen to me? (she turns her head away) That night, we were supposed to be meeting Mr. Tsu from Taiwan, but he stood us up last minute, so Jess and me, we just go ahead and have our dinner without him! I couldn’t have know of this earlier, so how I am to tell you I am free? And… we are getting married in 6 weeks’ time, I wouldn’t want you to imagine things… you know how fertile your imagination is! Flora… (she ignores him; he lets out a helpless sigh) Maybe I should leave you alone. (turning and walking away)
FLORA: Wait! (he turns back) (her tone softens) Is that the truth? (he nods) You are not lying to me?
ROGER: Of course not, my dear! (cupping her face) Why would I lie to you, silly! (hugging her)

(outside ward)
JESSICA: What do you want to talk to me, Ada?
ADA: (frankly) What is your relationship with Roger?
JESSICA: Friends! (pauses and looks at her) I don't know what you are driving at!
ADA: You know what I mean! Please, Jess, they are getting married soon, can you please just leave Roger alone?
JESSICA: (unhappily) What have I done to him?
ADA: Why is Flora so down recently?
JESSICA: How am I to know? I’m not her!
ADA: Just tell me frankly, Jess! Are you seeing Roger behind her back?
JESSICA: No!
ADA: But are you trying to work your charms on Roger? (Jess keeps quiet) That means a ‘Yes’? How could you even think of that, Jess?
JESSICA: If their love is really that strong, I would be just making vain efforts!
ADA: My point is, your intention is wrong in the first place!
JESSICA: I don’t think there is any wrong and right in love!
ADA: You are just wrong to snatch other’s husband!
JESSICA: Then what about your Mum? She snatched my Mum’s husband! She took away my Dad!
ADA: That is a different matter! Flora is your friend too, how could you…
JESSICA: (yelled) Shut up! I have no wish to argue with you further! (storms away)
ADA: (shouting) Jess... Jess!
ROGER: (coming out from ward) Ada, what’s the problem? (looks around) Where is Jess?
ADA: She is gone. (turns and look at him) Why aren’t you accompanying Flora?
ROGER: She says she want to rest, and Joe is inside with her.
ADA: Have you settled your problem with her?
ROGER: Huh? How did you know?
ADA: It’s obvious! She had been so distracted recently, what else can it be?
ROGER: It’s just a misunderstanding, and I have explained it to her, don’t worry, Ada! (smiles)
ADA: (forcing a smile) Hope so!

(Wednesday – Blissful photo studio – evening)
JULIAN: Where’s our bestman, Annie?
ANNIE: He’s changing inside… (looks at Julian) Then where is our bridesmaid?
JULIAN: She’s at the other side, there! (pointing) She just gone into the changing room, saw her?
ANNIE: Oh, yup! Hey, I think they do look compatible together!
JULIAN: Oh no, does that mean they will steal our limelight that day?
ANNIE: Who asked you to choose her?
JULIAN: (looks at her indignantly, pouting) And who asked you to choose him?
On the other side, Flora emerged from the dressing room and was tidying her hair in front of the mirror. Seconds later, Gallen unlocked the opposite door and strolled out causally of the room, putting both of his hands in the pocket. He looked around and didn’t see Julian and Annie. Instead, his attention was diverted to the girl dressed in a light pink gown with crystal pieces sewn near the hemline of it, standing approximately 3 meters in front of him.
He was still smiling dreamily at her back. She tilted her head a little; he thought the side profile of her face looks quite familiar. But he didn’t bother to think further. It was considered a leisure for an author like him to observe different people and their behaviors constantly. Moreover, it was someone who has given him a kind of warm, comfy feeling. He finds himself attracted to the way she was carrying herself, elegant!
Then she turned around, he opened his mouth in surprise. She noticed him and gave him a stare for his ogling. Just then, Julian and Annie walked in from nowhere.
JULIAN: (walking up to Flora) Oh my god, gorgeous! Now I sort of regretted not going after you that time.
ANNIE: Hey, what did you say?
JULIAN: (grimacing a frightened look) Kidding, madam!
ANNIE: (tidying Gallen’s suit) Hey look how smart-looking and manly our bestman is! (to Julian) You are just another baby besides him!
FLORA: (shocked) He’s the bestman?
GALLEN: (raising his eyebrows, pointing at Flora) Now don’t tell me she is the bridesmaid?
