“Of course my baby can sleep with me. You slept in mummy’s tummy for 7 full months” Chae Yeon kissed her little girl.
Yuki was a premature baby. The labour was a difficult one, the doctors almost lost both their lives. But Chae Yeon never gave up, because she knows giving birth to Yuki is just the start of the challenge ahead. Her challenge was to bring Yuki up the best she can.Yuki grew stronger and stronger in the hospital, maybe the little her knew that she had to be strong for her mother.
“Mummy, why do you always like to play with this ring?” Chae Yeon has a tendency to hold onto the ring on her daughter’s necklace and play with it
“Is a pretty ring, that’s why”
“Who gave it to you?”
“Your father gave it to me” Chae Yeon knew one day, she had to tell Yuki about her father. She knows that Yuki has been asking Hee Chul about who her daddy is. She didn’t want to trouble Hee Chul with their family matters.
Yuki was shocked to hear the word “Your father”
“Mummy never mention about daddy before”
“Do you want to know about your daddy?” Chae Yeon carried Yuki into her arms
Yuki cautiously nodded her head
“Your daddy is a very handsome man. He’s very tall and intelligent. He used to serve as president of his school committee. He sings very well too” Chae Yeon said with a smile on her face.
“Where is he? Why is he not with us?” Seeing that her mother was smiling, Yuki further questioned
“Mummy didn’t want him to be with us. Mummy wanted you all to myself” Chae Yeon started tearing. She didn’t know what to say, she should have planned it ahead.
Yuki didn’t understand what her mummy meant, but she started crying with her mummy. She has decided that she will never think about her daddy again.
“Mummy, I don’t mind if Uncle Takashi becomes my daddy. He can replace daddy.” Hee Chul had told Yuki that she should encourage her mother to accept Takashi. That way, her mother will forget her daddy and be happy.
Chae Yeon hugged on to Yuki dearly and cried.

The next day at school, Yuki saw Seung gi again
“Uncle, why are you always around here? Are you still working on your video?” Yuki asked him curiously. She was happy that this uncle is still around. She liked his company during break time.
“I came to give these to you” Seung gi took out a whole bag of chocolates and candies. He suspect Yuki is his daughter, he wanted to buy her things, if he could, he wanted to buy the whole world for Yuki. He wanted to make up for the last 5 years.
“I don’t eat chocolates. It gives me tummy ache. Plus, I cannot accept things from strangers”
Seung gi was heartbroken. He does not even know Yuki is allergic to chocolates. And to her, he is nothing but a stranger.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you don’t take chocolates. I’m not a stranger, I’m Uncle Hee Chul’s friend right? Do you like this doll?” He brought out the newest edition of a talking Dora Dora, wanting to give it to her
“Mummy’s friend bought that for me. It will be a waste if I have 2 of the same doll I’m sorry Uncle” Yuki felt bad, she likes this uncle very much. He gives her a nice and warm feeling.
“What is your mummy’s name?”
“My mummy is Yeoniko, most people call her that, but Koreans usually call her Chae Yeon. My mummy is a very cool person” Yuki smiled, she was very proud of her mother.
Unlike most kids at the Miyazaki school, who are heirs to large corporations and belong to old traditional families, she was from one of the lesser affluent family. But because her mother was so capable, unlike the other housewives mothers, her mother stood out.
